Alesis did a wonderful job and really raised the bar with this drum kit. At this price you get all round playable cymbals, dual zone drum pads and a module with sd card and enough inputs for expansion. Great review Samus
Great writing my friend time for roland to step up their game especially in that price category the great joy and the effects of competition roland isn't alone anymore and that's great alesis made an amazing all round package congratulations to them for that achievement.
Played this a few days ago at Guitar Center and it felt almost exactly like playing an acoustic kit. The lifelike samples and wide range of dynamics blew my mind.
Just got one of these. It's awesome. Things I wish I knew: - hit hat stand not included - bass drum pedal not included - currently no way to directly connect your phone via bluetooth to play along to backing tracks (lots of ways around this) Super cool kit though, I love all the different playable zones. Also, sidestick works fine, just cant hit the snare head with your fingers or else youll hear the snare sound. Pretty easy to account for though, in my opinion
El Estepario Siberiano did a review on this kit as well. Apparently he's had one for several months and had been giving Alesis feedback on it which he said they incorporated a lot of into the final product. This thing really looks and sounds impressive, if I ever need a new kit it's one of the first ones I'd look at.
I totally love how no one will ever stop talking that dude! Especially on a completely badass, hard-working, hilarious and incredibly humble drummer’s channel. We get it- El Estepariba de la Verga (I think I MIGHT’VE got his name wrong) is TOTALLY awesome, LOVES his own playing and is totally into himself on every level… but I prefer a humble, silly and INSANELY badass Canadian (right? He’s so nice he’s GOTTA be) over El Este Es Mí Fundio anyway. Hey- it’s just MHO! I’m allowed to have one, this is ‘Murica damnit! 😂
I'm with you on that. I'm over estepario. He's very arrogant and seems like a douche. The biggest rain though is the fact that he refused to pay someone who completed his challenge. Samus is the best to follow
@jamesbixler3711 He's a good drummer, but it's going to take a lot more than one handed drumming, metronome-perfect timing, and fast fills to be a great drummer. People often come out saying it's jealousy/envy, but there are a lot of amazing drummers out there, and they don't have to play fast or one-handed to prove it. El Estabario, I respect the crap out of the guy, but he's an influencer, and a flash drummer. Everything he has done has been done before. He practiced a lot and incorporated all things that impress non-drummers into one package.
I was in the market for a Roland vad307 right when they announced this kit. Went with the strata prime the next day. I’ve used it live twice at my church already and this thing had been worth every penny! I think my favorite part of the kit is the way they recorded the drums/ the responsiveness. They didn’t take a drum hit and turn up the volume when you hit harder. They actually recorded the drum being hit harder! So you really get that nice crack out of the snare and toms! Also as a nice treat, they actually have cymbal stacks! I’ve been waiting for a vst to do this for a while, and now have it in a kit I use live!
I'll never understand why most drummers shun eDrums. I'd so much rather play these on stage -- especially if you're playing covers. The ability to hone in on the exact sound (per song) AND the ability to control the volume makes kits like this automatic for me. These are great, bro! Alesis has come a LONG way.
When you play e drums, and then switching to an acoustic one, the moment of truth comes. Real drums are for the real world. Believe me, I know it well, as no one else. It’s pretty much depends on what music we play. If you’re more like a jazz musician, edrums are not for you. I have them only for practicing. They can’t replace conventional drum kit by all means, and they never will... though… I like this strata module.
I think electric kits on stage lose the presence of the sound as its just coming through the pa with everything else, I think you can really feel the air move through the drums when you're in a room with them and I think that makes them acoustically pretty different that speakers alone wouldn't recreate. On the other hand I think hybrid setups are great live, those pads have got to be better than neil peart's e kit ! They've gotten drastically so much better and I'd want to have a hybrid setup with some of these, perfect sound
@@marvinhanson9391 I have a Gewa G9 hybrid edrum kit. It doesn’t make a difference to me. Electrical drums can’t give control over the sound as an acoustic does. Magic happens, when you play an acoustic drums, unlike from edrums.

I play in a 9 piece band where bass and guitars all run direct. Only real sound on stage is drums and horns. Often wonder if high end eDrums could be used effectively. If so, would this kit cut it on stage. At less than half the price of the flagship Roland, this kit is attainable.
I'm a Roland guy (have an expanded VAD 306 w a TD-27 module, digital snare, ride and hats) but have to say this Alesis kit is a groundbreaker in both looks, a color touch screen module w an embedded VST (!) a full size kick and 360 degree playability all around. Love the different tom diameters as well - C'mon Roland!
Wooooh... there are so many Roland fan boys. They say... buhhh. It's not durable. It doesn't feel good. Not fast enough... Some years ago I went for a VST and just a trigger2MIDI interface and baaahm. Still using cheap Alesis pads and now Lemon cymbals. Awesome. I don't understand 360° triggering when using a cable connection.... I am happy with cheap pads and fantastic sound.
I got mine in Monday. I replaced my Roland td 25. I like it a lot. The trigger settings are the best I’ve seen on a module. It’s definitely worth the money.
You bet they are I returned the vad307 to sweetwater once 2 days after this bad boy came out. It's realy nice just wish they would make an update so I can use the module as an audio interface with ableton
@SQVLLN I'll believe it when I see it. They need a complete revamping of their module using actual samples and their pad triggers to eliminate the machine gun effect. With today's technology, there's no reason why this can't be done. Of course it will be so expensive that the working man can't afford it.
This review confirms it. I need this kit. I've never even wanted an electric kit. But this is just so impressive with so many benefits...i think I'm sold. Damn. Incredible how far these have come
I've just bought the Nitro Max kit for my young lad who's loving drums. One day maybe this one will be on his list. Looks and sounds great!! Waaaay to good for us at the mo but maybe it's in our future! Great vid!
I will be treating myself to one of these in the Spring. I have an acoustic kit set up with low volume pads and cymbals to replicate my gig setup up. But for pure home playing enjoyment and recording, these are great. You still do not get all the nuances of acoustic kit drum heads, but that is fine. Having an extra pad or 2 for percussion and / or effects and one one cymbals makes this amazing.
Never been a big fan of edrums, but I tried this set out today at my local music store and was pretty impressed. Way more affordable then comparable Roland products and the Strata Prime module is a thing of beauty to operate. The only thing I was "so-so" on was the hi hat action, but I've always found edrum hi hats are to be iffy at best.
Non.
You just did exactly what i would have done exactly. tested every single way imaginable hitting each part of the heads and rims. I lived through you. lol
Okay, is this going to go back or get sold? You don't wanna keep it, you want to see it go to a guitar player that needs some drum chops in his back pocket, and you want him to have it at a stupid great price too! Oh, and these are definitely not the droids you are looking for. . .

Same here I use to have td30kv roland then got the se pro alisis then now I have the vad 504 roland and I'm thinking on trade it for this one.
I got mine in Monday. I replaced my Roland td 25. I like it a lot. The trigger settings are the best I’ve seen on a module. It’s definitely worth the money.
Roland's in trouble.
You bet they are I returned the vad307 to sweetwater once 2 days after this bad boy came out. It's realy nice just wish they would make an update so I can use the module as an audio interface with ableton
Wait for the Roland revenge! They will create a Monster
@@SQVLLNyeah but for twice the price 🤮
@SQVLLN I'll believe it when I see it. They need a complete revamping of their module using actual samples and their pad triggers to eliminate the machine gun effect. With today's technology, there's no reason why this can't be done. Of course it will be so expensive that the working man can't afford it.
Yea I've always hated Roland idk why just can't do it lol it think it's the feeling
Sick drumming!!🔥🔥🔥
That kits insane , but bro your playing and knowledge !
HOLY $hit !
Mike, thank you so much dude
@@66Samus The double bass pedal isn’t included in the set, or am I wrong? Which one did u use for this video?
@@5ShotProductions yeah it doesn't come with a kick pedal.
here is the double I used: ua-cam.com/video/XZyOzoNXRf0/v-deo.html
I like those Electric drum kits that have the Acoustic looking Hi-Hats, and this is one of them!
7:19 Love seeing even a hardened smart-ass smiling with child like joy at the magic of multi zone triggering! 😂❤
That's a gorgeous kit! Sounds, looks and am I'm sure feels great!
Ten Thousand Fists mentioned!!! Love to see some Mike Wengren recognition.
I was hopeful that I was the only one who noticed 10,000 fists lol
This review confirms it. I need this kit. I've never even wanted an electric kit. But this is just so impressive with so many benefits...i think I'm sold. Damn. Incredible how far these have come
11:39 that's one of the meanest drum parts ever
I've just bought the Nitro Max kit for my young lad who's loving drums. One day maybe this one will be on his list. Looks and sounds great!! Waaaay to good for us at the mo but maybe it's in our future! Great vid!
playing with the Alesis Scrota Prime, oh yurrrrrr
I love how you enjoy this new toy!! Loved it!! It sounds so beautiful!!
(14:41) when you invite a metal drummer to the trap gig
I will be treating myself to one of these in the Spring.
I have an acoustic kit set up with low volume pads and cymbals to replicate my gig setup up. But for pure home playing enjoyment and recording, these are great. You still do not get all the nuances of acoustic kit drum heads, but that is fine. Having an extra pad or 2 for percussion and / or effects and one one cymbals makes this amazing.
The Jurassic Park reference got me smiling.
Oh my gosh this is like my dream kit. Love it!
These companies need to make a module with eight extra inputs.
Yep I agree the other way is to hook up 2 of them using a 3.5mm cable (phones into mix in) and you have more pad options!
@@markdoolan3424 I have done that a couple times.
22 extra inputs
Go for a Audiofront eDRUMin10 trigger2MIDI interface.
Did you check these out? Amazing piece of gear!
There nice pieces of gear that can deal with this...
The kit sounds great and your playing was very smooth.
I swear to Danyall! I wasn’t here for the crack! But I finally had it!!!!😂
Hello Fraggle 1977… It’s charlenecostanza 💖🤗🤗🤗
@@charlenemack7040hey! Here for ABBA? 😊❤

I love this guy I’ve been watching him for 9 years
The blast beat with the fart sent me lmao
😂👍🏻😁😁😁🥁
The smiles show how much you are enjoying this.
5:05 yoda makes an appearance!
Damn that thing sounds good. The module and sample quality is quite a statement.
I tore my pants laughing on the fart sample part😂😂.
I seriously cannot believe how good this sounds. Great playing too of course!
08:08 ten thousand fists?🤘😂
Never been a big fan of edrums, but I tried this set out today at my local music store and was pretty impressed. Way more affordable then comparable Roland products and the Strata Prime module is a thing of beauty to operate. The only thing I was "so-so" on was the hi hat action, but I've always found edrum hi hats are to be iffy at best.
You really fit to be the next Slipknot Drummer
A new dimension to blast beats there!! Hilarious hearing the synthy 80s kit with blast beats and Portnoy fills, too!!

by far the best review I've seen... Thank you!
He turned Tom Saywer in to Tom Shitter
I started playing drum last year and I’ve been watching Samus since your amazing man I wish I could afford a drum set like that or any drum set
Alesis is such an underrated company.
Non.
best review in years ,great kit,the bar has been lifted..
You just did exactly what i would have done exactly. tested every single way imaginable hitting each part of the heads and rims. I lived through you. lol
No drum kit can be compared to these sexy Bahee legs
After I guess not having a drumkit for over 10 years I find it interesting to see where electronic kits have developed into, thank you for the review!
Cool set for sure
Almost as good as SEX !
Towowe2wosw❤❤😂🎉😅😊
If I buy this kit, I’ll be able to play like this.
Okay, is this going to go back or get sold? You don't wanna keep it, you want to see it go to a guitar player that needs some drum chops in his back pocket, and you want him to have it at a stupid great price too! Oh, and these are definitely not the droids you are looking for. . .
I’ve been playing the drums a looooooong time. This guy is SPECIAL. Superb skills.
Your hair is long and voluptuous.
Voluptuous? Curvy and beautiful? 😁
Thanks for the great video! Awesome test run on that kit!
What a FANTASTIC demo! Thank you.
I went to guitar studio one time and they had that kit and I played on for like 45 minutes straight. It’s such a good kit
