Eight lugs per head on the maple-birch kit's 22" bass drum will give it a more open sound more conducive to low tunings. Eight lug 22s, even though they're associated with lower cost, are great sounding.

What about the birch shells?

Glad Pearl masters ditched the thick 7.5mm shell. These all sounded awesome. Good to see the triple flanged hoops. I never could dial in the die cast hoops, they choked out the head leaving a very small sweet spot. Otherwise love the hardware.

Holy shit. Did anyone else notice that George removed the black spacers/washers from the spring tension screw so that he could have MORE tension?!! Absolute madman!!

Build quality remains to be seen ,alesis stuff has a horrible track record for breakdowns

Hi I am buying this set TD-07DMK and bringing it on a plane, do you think this will fit on a big suitcase? Mostly I am worried about the rack height, will the longer stick of the rack fit on a suitcase?

It's bright and trashy, I love it! I could use it as a main crash as well! Definitely worth the purchase

I'm curious about what Alesis can do with the entry level drum kits, using the same engine sound of this new module. I'm very happy with my Roland TD-17KV. Now, I have 100 different drum kits in the module. Congrats Alesis for this new complete drum set and the module.

The drums are good for any skill level. They are just an affordable shell kit. You don't need $4,000 drum shells...just $4,000 cymbals😜

After the dust settles the sounds, IMO, aren't a big step up from the Strike Pro, which is not to say they aren't pretty good. Also many of the kits are too dry and unnatural sounding. Of course you can add reverb and room to your liking.

Meinl’s ride game is incredibly frustrating. Two ridiculously priced rides and both still have anemic bells. In order to get any kind of true clear piercing bell out of ANY of their rides, you have to practically throw out your elbow whipping the shoulder of the stick into the bell. It’s absurd. Meinl’s cymbals in general across the board are absolutely spectacular. But the hunt for a ride continues. How is it that Paiste, Zildjian and Sabian have all figured out how to make perfectly balanced rides but Meinl still can’t get it right???

The hi-hat is better but still not able to catch up to fast pedal close and releases.

Great demo, but whatever snare stand that is should probably go off the market lol

Perfect guys, that is almost impossible to distinguish anything due to the over compress and EQs you ve put on the audio... So sad... that will be absolutely interesting to be able to compare it in terms of sounds, as it is obviously so clear to SEE the differenc. (Even if the 2 dudes are very intersting to hear but....) Cheers

This drum kit is way too expensive in Australia, price is $6ooo AUD, I can buy a second hand Roland TD50 K for that money. Sorry Alesis
