It does show its age compared to modern Zelda games even in the 3DS remake, but if it weren't for Ocarina of Time, we wouldn't have The Wind Waker, Twilight Princess, Skyward Sword and so on. The N64 game is legendary.
Im getting all the ones i have played out of the way and trying to go in order of release-ish (some handhelds I'll do in the future). The unfortunate truth is I call myself a zelda fan but everything after OoT until botw ive never beaten or played.

Hey shadow, thanks for commenting. I love that you put your list. After Witcher 3 I plan to do MM. After MM there is a HUGE gap in my zelda gameplay. I've never played windwaker or Twilight. I would like to play their HD versions but I wish they would just re-release them on switch.
I still whistle that Lost Woods theme to this day. So upbeat and cheerful. As a kid i liked the hammer. That jump attack and smash was fun. But i def remember using it to beat Ganon in the end lol.
@ShadowdaHedgie11 it's been forever, but I remember something happening to the master sword in the final fight when he goes beast mode, so you had to use something else. I remember smashing Ganon's tail with the hammer until it was time to use the arrows, or something to that effect. I may be misremembering some details, but the part of smashing Ganon's beast form on the tail with the hammer is sticking in my mind.
@@furiouskaiser9914 I'm pretty sure his tail is only weak to the Light Arrows though. You are right, the Master Sword gets knocked out of Link's hands and you have to hit his tail enough times to lower the fire wall around the arena so you can get it back. Lemme go check something.... Apparently you are right, you can use the hammer on his tail.
My basic opinion on Ocarina of Time: It's in a similar sort of boat to Super Mario 64 to me. It is a good game, but it has not exactly aged well, and there are several games that have surpassed it since. The 3DS is definitely the best version of it. While I say it hasn't aged well, it has aged better than Super Mario 64 and is still very enjoyable and a must-play for Zelda fans, as opposed to Super Mario 64 which... hasn't aged as well.
I completely agree. I need to make a video on how we should probably judge "Best games" within their console eras. Pacman is a great game imo. Pretty fun and addictive. But comparing packman to OoT or OoT to the witcher 3 or something is really unfair. The Wright brothers first aircraft is still important to flight yet it's not a 747. lol. But both are very impressive for their time.
@@Livvvid Pretty much. I respect Super Mario 64 for what it did for the genre but it is outperformed by most of the other 3D games nowadays. And the same for Ocarina of Time, although, as I said, it has aged a bit better.
@@ShadowdaHedgie11 I much prefer the original versions of the N64 Zelda games but the 3DS remakes look absolutely fantastic from a visual stand point. Ocarina might not hold up as well anymore but for the time it came out there was no other game like it. Even the camera wasn’t as bad as some of the other games that came out during the same time period. It still has one of the greatest stories in the entire series with a timeless soundtrack and iconic dungeons. Sheik is also a top three character in the entire franchise. I still have it in my top 5 🙏
Majora's Mask video out now! ua-cam.com/video/ssRcBlK9B_0/v-deo.html

Gamecube port is my definitive version, not messed around with like the modern one, but you get two control sticks not one.
Hey thanks for watching and commenting, I appreciate you.
But yeah I HAVE to give it to 3DS for the quick equip iron boots.

...Does it even hurt Ganon? I thought the only things that hurt Ganon were Light Arrows and the Master Sword.

@ShadowdaHedgie11 thanks for the check, I was thinking I was about to have a Mandela Effect moment lol.
@@furiouskaiser9914 What can I say I'm a boring guy who only used the Light Arrows and sword xP
Good video. Keep it up!
