If you hit mew with poke ball it will stop and spin in place. You can do this multiple times until he’s super close so you can get a proper shot and not that embarrassment you showed us

For 2-3 solid years my brother and I asked for loads of Pokémon stuff as our entire Christmas wishlist and the only thing my family caved on was buying him Red and myself Blue. I'm so glad to have such great memories of these games but it's hard not to think of what could have been. There's a load of worthless plastic toys in our attic when we could have had loads of Pokémon stuff if our parents hadn't been so cynical towards the franchise.

This game is actually so insanely good I beat it when it came out on switch and loved every minute of it

I was 10 years old, I got a GBA sp for Christmas so I bought this game. The nostalgia hits so hard. They need to put the old games on Switch Online so I can play them on my TV.

I got this for Christmas in 2001 and it is still the best Pokémon game that’s ever been made 🤍

I love Gen 2 and im doing a crystal run rn. The problem with the Gen 2 is the availability of the coolest gen 2 pokemon and the poor learn sets of a lot of the gen 2 mons. The story is fun though and the design of the Gen 2 mons are great

The Pokemon craze didn't reach my town until 1998-ish, so while I did play Red/Blue a lot then, it was only a couple years until gen 2 was released, and I played a Gold/Silver a *lot* more, so it's dear to my heart, as well. Playing it as an adult is painful because all the flaws you took for granted as a kid stand out in stark relief after you've played better balanced, more user-friendly games, not even only Pokemon games, so it's hard to go back. It's still my favorite in spite of that, though.

2002. I remember first playing this game. There was a part in the game where you go into a cave after violet city and you surf across the water in a separate chamber in the cave. There you’ll find a weird looking Pokémon surfing on the water. You then surf close to it and start the wild encounter and you realize it’s a LAPRAS. Back then I had no idea what this Pokémon was so I assumed it was either extremely rare or legendary and used ultra balls to catch it. When that didn’t work, I used the only master ball I had to catch it. I showed my friends the Pokémon I caught thinking they’d be impressed but they looked at me and said that’s not a rare or legendary Pokémon it’s only an uncommon one and showed me proof. I was so mad I deleted the game and didn’t touch it until 6 years later.

They already had different sprites in different versions, but moving sprites! Groundbreaking. 😸

Squirtle was the best. My brother was a silly Charmander chooser, and you're a silly Bulby chooser. 🤦🏻‍♂️ I'm currently trying to get a shiny Chicorita for heart gold so I can play the game. Original gold was the last pokee game I realy enjoyed, but I'm waiting for a shiny. I got a shiny Chespin by pure chance just trying to get standard stats as I didn't know what was good or bad. I only realised afterwards and once I was playing. I could very easily have resetted again if the nature and stats weren't standard. But now I want one it's taking forever, I really hope shiny Chicorita comes first before the others. I always liked Hitmonchan, but I don't think he was that great lol.

I definitely remember someone talking about pikablue and I totally fell for mew under the truck but the rumor at the playground was u had to somehow get the HM super strength to move the truck never got it lol but know in ur heart I had unlimited rare candies

I grew up hearing them called 'Legendary Dogs', but in retrospect, they're definitely cats. Entei is a Lion, Raikou is a Sabretooth Tiger, and Suicune is a Leopard.

maybe I have been to harsh towards these games, I plan on doing another play-through on Sapphire version soon.

This was my first generation playing the games, and i adore the Hoenn region to this day. I even have a tattoo of Absol, my favorite Pokémon. I actually had an e-Reader as a kid, but sadly, the functionality didn't work for the English version of the games/device.
