Here’s every non-spoiler gameplay detail you need to know: The top left numbers are your “humanity”. You gain it from killing enemies in an area that still has a living boss. This is often called “soft humanity” the humanity in your inventory that can be used are the equivalent to the rune arcs (and are sometimes called “hard humanity”) you consume them to heal and gain soft humanity. Soft humanity increases your defense for almost everything and increases drop chances. You can reclaim dropped soft humanity upon death in the same way as souls. At a bonfire, you can reverse hollowing. Which is basically the equivalent to the multiplayer aspect to rune arcs. This lets you summon, be summoned, invade other players, and be invaded. When your numbers are grey, you’re in “hollow” form when they’re white, you’re in “human” form. Invasions work differently than in ER, when you are in human form, you can get invaded. Sometimes by multiple attackers. Summoning doesn’t prevent or incur invasions. The soapstones are the multiplayer items. After a critical hit, (riposte, backstab, plunge attack) enemies will take a second to stand back up, during this time, they are invulnerable. Think of it like when you perform a critical, you are invincible in ER. Resistance only affects poison resistance. Do what you will with this info. In dark souls, every area functions similar to the legacy dungeons. Meaning sometimes you need to go back to them later. The bosses are based off the demon souls design. So, most bosses have a “gimmick” to take advantage of, or fight around. You already noted the ones for taurus demon, such as the small area and the plunge attack opportunity. If you’re having a hard time with a boss, you might be missing a major part of its details. Try looking around the arena beforehand. You can kick by pressing forward and attack at the same time. This basically shoves the enemy, this is good for shields and when they are on a ledge. You can do a leap forward by holding the roll button to sprint. Then, whilst sprinting, quickly tap the roll button again, this will cause you to jump forward and gain a bit of height. But, you will roll when you land. Instead of stakes of marika or extra bonfires/sites of grace. The game provides extra shortcuts to the boss arena from earlier bonfires. Many of these bonfires/shortcuts are hidden behind illusory walls.
Btw, i’ve been wanting to do a ds2 video on my main channel. If you would like, I’d be happy to help you through that game as it has probably the most mechanics out of every From Title.

I feel like it works both ways. Being decent in DS1 and 3, doesn't mean you'll have an easy time in Elden Ring. That's my story. The delayed attacks fkd with me a lot.
To me, DS1 is more of a puzzle game than Elden Ring which plays more as an action game. DS1 is all about memorization and figuring out gimmicks and patterns. Definitely feels like very different games.
Because these games have a lot in common? I mean, you learn how to roll / backstab / parry / whatever in one game, and that basic skill just transfers to all of them.
@@AlexanderShamov The issue isn't the assumption that some skills will carry over, it's the assumption that anything else similar will be easy (implying Elden Ring is akin to a higher difficulty setting thus any other souls game would be easy).

one thing i dont like so much about elden ring is you can just run past every normal enemy just ignore them get on the horse and to the boss if you try that in any dark souls game, especially if you dont know the way, you end up traped somewhere with a bunch of enemys and thats it i also never used this marika statues i dont know what for, they are normally 10m away from a bondfire and bondfires are right before the bossroom
Well, you can still get trapped when you run around in the dungeons of Elden Ring. Speaking of dungeons, those usually have a Grace (or bonfire) at the start, and a statue of Marika before the boss room, so you don't have to run all the way through the dungeon again if you die to the boss. Several spots in the overworld that also has statues of Marika, far away from other Graces.
You wanna focus on looking for shortcuts as much as bonfires, especially in early game The covenants are mainly for online, but many of them have some in game perk or item they give you Invest in pyromancy if you dont plan on using sorcery or faith. Many of the spells became the flame incantations and it doesnt require you too increase magic stats
It is so interesting to see you play Dark souls 1 being that I have only played dark souls 1 and am currently working on dark souls 3, like the video. Thing in the top left count is humanity, you have soft and hard humanity. Soft is the humanity you have next to your health bar, hard humanity is the ones you have in your inventory. 1 humanity and pressing "reverse hollowing" turns you human and you can summon other players for bosses and also get invaded, also can kindle bonfires to give you more estus.
Elden Ring is the easiest of the bunch, so prepare yourself for ALOT you'll be going through ;) And above all play the way you find most comfortable, don't be dragged by others's opinions on how you should or shouldn't play, and what you should or shouldn't use.
@@HeySidPlays Dark Souls 2 has alot of good things, but depending on the point of view, alot of terrible others to balance the scale, it's in a very weird spot for me. @@HeySidPlaysThe hardest souls game is usually your personal opinion. DS2 gives the player the most routes to take of the trilogy, so if you’re struggling, you can typically go somewhere else and come back. It was made with the help of Tanimura, who worked on Elden Ring. If you do play DS2, play Scholar of the First Sin. It’s the full addition that corrected some of the enemy placement and contains all the DLC. Do note, it was based off DS1 and Demon’s Souls. So the bosses are easier but the enemies are harder. @rosstee there is parrying. It's just Parrying and Riposting is soooooo good in DS1, and fairly easy. Elden Ring does at least have a better parry than DS2 or DS3, but it's still not as broken as DS1. Not to mention that everything is faster in Elden Ring, with crazy attacks, so it's harder to time parries. Oftentimes you're better off just avoiding the attacks altogether.

The O&S fight, the run to the bonfire right before them, and blighttown were the next most difficult sequences for me. The runbacks feel punishing, but also so meditative and satisfying when you finally nail it.
At dragon bridge where you descend the stairs there's a ladder to a previous bonfire. Also there's a bonfire underneath the dragon too. The number next to your health is Humanity. This stat is more like a special currency for reversing hollow (allowing online play) and increasing your total Estus flasks you recover from a specific bonfire when resting. 5 is Minimum 10 is Average 15 is Easy Mode 20 is Endgame To increase you must reverse hollowing then burn humanity at bonfire you wish to give more flasks. Some bonfires don't require this.
Oh man, I just can't wait for you to reach Sens Fortress! 😆I've known just a couple people who didn't have too much trouble there, but for most people, it's a bloody nightmare
Let's just say the free movement of Elden Ring makes the game fairly easy, not to mention the summons. Its refreshing to see someone struggle with this game again xD (Like i did once)
there are few things in this world that I love more than watching people first-time dark souls 1 and just watching as they suffer and struggle thru the entire game. anyone who says dark souls 1 is easier than elden ring has never played dark souls 1 lol.
Sid, you can jump in Dark souls, in main area you can jump on that building, search up youtube as there are items to pick up, and bird can take you back to Asylum for.. adventure.. Also on the left side of that building in main hub there is path down to skeletons. As for emotional harm DS1 is 3/10, DS3 can be 6/10.. Dark Souls 2 with DLC? 9,5/10. Yeah you gotta reverse your hollowing at a bonfire using humanity, the big grey number next to your health. Then use another to kindle a bonfire to make it give you 10 estus, later you’ll get the ability to use more humanity and get 20 at each bonfire. You don’t have to do it at every bonfire but a good idea at frequently used spots like the blacksmith
One non-spoiler advice: you can upgrade every bonfire up to 20 Estus flasks (kindle). For that you just need to be in human form and use your humanity if you have it.
This was my first souls game. I felt like i had achieved something when i beat this. I absolutely mopped the floor with eldenring and then the og demon souls on ps3
It's painful missing that first shortcut to the bonfire under the dragon bridge. It makes for a super long runback for a big chunk of map, that's for sure.

The runbacks feel punishing, but also so meditative and satisfying when you finally nail it.
Sid: Sneaking behind black knight.
Me: "He won't backstab him."
Sid: "Watch this."
Black knight: Turns around and doesn't get backstabbed.
Dark souls 1 isn't about bosses.. it's the whole experience that is difficult especially if you play it with no clue...the hardest 😅
A new DS1 player that doesn’t go to the Catacombs or at least set off a few skeletons 🤔
3:45 hahaha "oh no.. I've heard about blighttown" made me laugh
5 is Minimum
10 is Average
15 is Easy Mode
20 is Endgame
To increase you must reverse hollowing then burn humanity at bonfire you wish to give more flasks.
Some bonfires don't require this.
looking forward to the next part!
Bro i wish this video was longer💯 this was such a banger man please continue this series
I wish i forgot everything about all souls gams just to enjoy discovering it all over again. Have fun playing those masterpieces
So fun experiencing them for the first time!
Oh man, I just can't wait for you to reach Sens Fortress! 😆I've known just a couple people who didn't have too much trouble there, but for most people, it's a bloody nightmare
Sid:whats with the double gargoyle fights.
me: *laughs in nightmares from ds2*
12:05 out of the frying pan and into the fire! Classic Dark Souls experience 😆
Bro at 10:21 why did you clip it. That’s not at all where the stairs go 😭
hehehe title said it all 😁 that dude kicked down the door same way as jason in new york just walked straight through😂😂
You are not ready for ds2 executioner's Chariot runback.. absolute nightmare.
9,5/10. Upload more man it's amazing to watch you!
Thank you, I’m really glad you enjoy watching! I try to upload as much as I can but unfortunately I’m quite busy and don’t get a lot of time to record and edit, but I’ll work as fast as I can!
I don’t like looking up guides because I like to play blind. By main area do you mean Firelink Shrine? I’ll need to explore it more!
@@HeySidPlays Yes Sid, Firelink Shrine, you should explore it a lot, items and different ways to go to new areas if you are stuck in current. I'm looking forward to see your videos man, it's such amazing content!
Not the nowytends reference with the intro cutscene 😂
Keep going man your videos are awesome 😂🔥
You never forget that first run feeling 😅 the first time I played this game it was so brutal
One non-spoiler advice: you can upgrade every bonfire up to 20 Estus flasks (kindle). For that you just need to be in human form and use your humanity if you have it.
To get to 20 you need right of kindling
10 is max before that
@@tomasdubienski1926 You're right about that.
It actually hurt seeing him fail not just one but both of the easiest plunging attacks in the series XD
The menu music is by far my favorite of any souls game
Playing ds1 after elden ring feels like a lucid dream bro this stuff is hilarious
The Knight uses a colossal sword like a greatsword one-handed.😂😂😂
“And now I have to run all the way back.” 🤣 Welcome to dark souls
The terms an conditions section is the first boss. It's meant to give you a sense of dread immediately, and tests your perserverance.

"Hesitation is defeat"- Sword Saint Isshin
I'm gonna sub just to watch u play (suffer) through ds1 😂. Good luck mate
Not recognizing Solaire, have you been living under a rock 😭💔
This was my first souls game. I felt like i had achieved something when i beat this. I absolutely mopped the floor with eldenring and then the og demon souls on ps3
The atmosphere in this game is so beautiful
Your missing out on one of the most aesthetically pleasing games of demon souls. It’s one of my favorites
It's painful missing that first shortcut to the bonfire under the dragon bridge. It makes for a super long runback for a big chunk of map, that's for sure.
These games are addictive. I started on ds3 and have been hooked ever since
