e46 muffler delete vs stock

- compared the difference in a muffler delete on a 2003 325i, the tone is way nicer now. and much louder but not too crazy, the only downside would be if the whistle around 4k rpm annoys you.

Was thinking of doing something like this to my car. Did you remove your tips to? Also did you straight pipe or just take off the muffler closest to the back?
In this video I just had the rear muffler and tips removed, and added in new pipes to fill the spot. I ended up deleting the rear muffler and resonator eventually which got rid of the weird whistle sound

That stock sound actually sounds so good just as it is.
Did the same on my 02 320i touring, sounds really good, doesn't whistle a bit, and makes some really nice pops and crackles that aren't overly obnoxious
do you regret it after couple of days ? drone it ? or something. im not sure if i want do it do 330ci but comparing it to 320i, just asking about drone how much is it
@@kvakoo2184 I have zero drone, I just removed the huge back muffler and used a Y pipe to turn the dual pipe into a big 3.25 sticking out the rear
No regrets either, it's never been obnoxiously loud to me
@@Krozhin idk if the bigger engine will make more drone than yours but most people are saying: You will regret it. And one more option for me is to istall Magnaflow muffler.

Yea it depends on your preference I guess, I drove the car a hour each way to work, so over time it became annoying 🤣
Yeah it gets annoying over time and I’ve replace my intake hoses filter intake gaskets and other stupid shit to get that whistle to go away and it hasn’t
My next bet is the sap vacuum hose or brake booster valve

I think it's a clean sound, nothing too noisy but still quite cool and low.

Love the sound here. How do I replicate this on my ‘05 ZHP ? What diameter pipe did you use after cutting the muffler off ?
It's 2 inch, same as stock diameter. In this video only the rear muffler is removed
Use 4 inch on 330 zhp for more of a deep exhaust note
I did a muffler delete on my 325i and mine sounds nothing like this. Mine is way raspier. Why could this be?

🤦♂️it increases the hp and throttle response because better air flow through the exhaust go study bud. There is no loss can happen when u make the car work better air

@@HydroxLoL well it increases air flow allows a car to breath better, so definitely, there would be no power loss 🤦♂️.
@@vladkuz1298 It highly depends on the tune and how the car is set to run from the factory. If it needs the scavenging from the muffler (which not all bmws do from the factory) it will start to lose power. Its the same concept with going from like a 2.25" exhaust to a 3" exhaust. It'll likely lose power unless its tuned for it. The comment you replied to was posted 11 months ago man lmao.
The only thing I don't like is the whistling. Do you know what causes it?
It's just how e46s soundi believe, I've noticed aftermarket & stock muffler deletes both whistle a bit.
@@garageqf I suppose I would just have to get used to it. I'm planning on buying an E46, and strangely listening to exhaust videos is my first step before buying any car to make sure I'll like the sounds.

@@garageqf Yeah. I absolutely love the looks of these cars. I have a Mk4 Jetta VR6, but I think it's that time to let it go. I think this is a good replacement, but I'm looking for an xi model. I live in North Dakota, so I feel more comfortable with AWD for the winters.

When you eventually took the resonator off did it sound raspy or ricer
With one resonator taken off it sounded good, not too loud or raspy. But with both taken off it sounds like a 4 banger
