Not a fan of the crackles, but man that tone is *perfect* .That's a proper Need for Speed racecar sound.
The very best sound you can get out of an E46 is with the stock steel muffler with an CA intake. Get the mid muffler deleted and it will sound like a BMW straight 6 should be.

Just did the m50 on my 325ci with everything along with stage 4 from revmatch. For what its worth just leave the m54 manifold or go m54b30
If your plan was not completed yet, go for an M54b30 intake... It is the same engine type, so fitting will save you a lot of headaches.

The muffler is removed and replaced with a different muffler. And yes the headers do not have cats

For the tune you bought do you need to not have Catalytic converters? I plan on getting the same stage 2 tune you have but I don’t have an aftermarket air intake and I have stock headers
The cats need to be removed. The pops and bangs will eventually break them apart because of the unburnt fuel. An air intake is not really required

How easy was the header install? I hear headers are a pain to put in and usually need modification.
I looked around for a while until a found a set that would like up with my flanges. I did have to cut down the 2nd o2 bungs but I didn’t use them anyway. All I hav to do was removed the passenger side motor mount and lift the pan with a jack and whole engine twisted a good amount and gives so much more room.

You can install them on the 328 and the 323. NOT the 325, that is the M54
Not sure what you mean. The headers will work for both but you may have to cut the flanges and rewelded on your factory exhaust. Most headers on the market however are meant for the m54

Just do a similar exhaust set up like I have. Headers with an aftermarket muffler. However your exhaust will smell very bad if it’s not tuned. The company I bought from has an option for no pops.
They can also be turned on and off with the cruise control button

Correct I don’t have cats. The headers aren’t too hard to install as long as you have some experience. If you remove the motor mount and jack up the oil pan it gives you so much more room

It’s all understanding of what is happening. Ignition timing is retarded until the exhaust valve is open. This was my old time and I run a different one now. It can be turned on and off. Doing this excessively isn’t exactly harmful but can put extra heat on the exhaust valves which over time may weaken the valve seal causing oil burning. The hard cut limiter is better for the engine then a fuel cut limiter but it’s set to a higher rpm. So it’s just revving the engine higher then factory

No. I only have the pops and bangs because it’s of my tune which they can be switched on and off. You can do exactly what I did with headers and muffler but no tune. The exhaust smells really really bad with no cats though. After it was tuned the air fuel ratio was let Rich so it doesn’t smell bad anymore

Hop on the search bar and just start looking at videos. Try muffler delete or muffler and resonator delete. That’s cheapest way to get a good sound. And you won’t get pulled over unless you are being stupid so don’t be doing pulls everywhere

I have a 330 with theire stage 2 tune as well similar setup but automatic and it seems that your first pull in 2nd gear accelerated and reved out much faster than mines does? Weird or does that make sense I'm confused haha... prolly just the diff/trans gearing but idk
I mean the gear ratios are totally different auto to manual. I now have stage 3. More recent vids if you wanna check it out

@@evankrohn4 my exhaust on the 328 is 2 from the headers into the 1st resonator. It then becomes one and goes through the 2nd resonator

Hi, what with lambda sondes ? i think about ebay headers in my 328ci.
It’s all about the flanges. I just know that blackhorse racing bolt up with no flange modifications. Most headers are made for the 325/330. These will bolt the engine on a 328 but they won’t line up with the rest of the exhaust without modifications

I did when I first put them on for the o2 sensors in the rear because I removed them. My tune removed the codes so not anymore

Emissions testing. It’s also 23 years old being a 99. It is exempt in 2 years (25 year old cars don’t need to pass)

They are basically the same engine just slightly smaller. Headers, and muffler sounds pretty much identical on any of the cars .323, 325, 328, and 330. And yes your car is ms43. All you have to do is select your year and model

No. I still have the 2 factory resonators but an aftermarket muffler

Search on google for Revmatch Motorsports. They are a remote or mailed tuning company. To get the pops (spaced booms, or popcorn) you just need to delete your catalytic converters by doing headers or just removed my them

Not at all. Being running it for about a 10 months. I switched To stage 3 not long ago and it’s even better. I will post a full review on it very soon

Little bit. Mostly responsiveness and some up high in the rev rang. Most of it came from the headers and not the tune though

They are not available anymore but no this brand won’t fit the 325. Most other eBay brands will fit the 325

Nah. A turbo manifold can be used na but needs to be dyno tuned to run right

1999 the e46 came out. 1998 was the e36.
There were cross over years for both. They made e36 convertibles In 99 while the sedan was an e46. Same was true in 06. You could by an e46 convertible an en e90 sedan. Mine was mid 98 production date

No sir. Just magic. This car will do standing 2 wheel burn outs for days but when you try to get the rear end loose and drift it spins only the inside tire

anyone know which ebay or amazon headers fit the best with the least modifications for e46 330i?
They will all bolt up to the cylinder head but the issue is the lower flanges. It’s pretty hit or miss. I was lucky to find some that bolted to my 328.

If you get one go for the stage 3 and yes there quite a difference but mainly the throttle response and manipulation. Throttle blips closed making downshifting super smooth and much more rev happy with less throttle input. Stage 2 is almost identical but no flames, launch control, and a few other parameters. Also definitely do spaced pops and not fast. Mine were fast and then when I got stage 3 they were spaced. Check out my more recent exhaust video
