  • Hi friends, today we are making a beloved Persian dish called "Lubia Polo (Loobia) Ba Gooshte Charkh Kardeh" ( لوبیا پلو با گوشت چرخ کرده ) . I have previously made this dish in another video, but this is the version with ground beef, which is more informal but loved just as much and has been requested quite a bit. This is the version we make more often at home, especially when it's not served for guests.
And also, Happy Thanksgiving to all my dear friends who celebrated yesterday. I hope you enjoyed your day, I am thankful that all of you are in my life.
    Ingredients List:
    - 2 Cups of Rice
    - 1 1/4 Green Beans
    - 1 Pound Ground Beef
    - 1 Onion
    - 4 Tablespoon Tomato Paste
    - Liquid Saffron
    - 1 Teaspoon Turmeric
    - 1 Teaspoon Black Pepper
    - 1 to 1 1/2 Teaspoon Salt
    - 1 Cinnamon Stick
    - 1/2 Cinnamon Powder
    - Cooking Oil

Thank you Yousef. Made this yesterday, and my wife was very pleased. Her only complaint was that lubia should have been a little longer in frying pan. Otherwise I got good grades for this. Not as good as when she makes it, but well approved being made by a non Iranian 😊.
I have made some of your dishes, and plan to do some more.
Your videos are easy to follow and very educational. Thank you.

Dear Yousef, you have no idea how wonderful of a memory I have of lubia polo. The mother of an Iranian girl in my class, came to our school to cook this with us in cooking class, and it was one of the best things I had ever tasted. I love that it looks like something I can actually manage to make even if it is a little bit advanced. You explained everything so well. My thoughts are with the Iranian people and their struggles. They deserve better than the government they have now. Big hugs from Norway.

What struggles, surely no more than what a European has to go through. Such an uninformed, ridiculous comment.

    • @EscargoTouChaud

@@shireenturner5873 Listen, you ray of light of a human being; the comment was written when there was enormous turmoil in Iran in the aftermaths of the Women, Life, Freedom movement. Whereas I am certain many a Europan has their struggle, most Europeans' struggles are not of the same nature as that of the Iranian people, who risk being jailed for speaking up or wearing the wrong clothes.

I love this dish! I've made it many times..but I never sauted the green beans first..I just added them after the meat sauce was almost ready to mix with the rice....I'll try it your way the next time I make this. I always serve it with yogurt with shallots and the cucumber, tomato and onion salad...so good!!

Brilliant Yousef, I usually make my Lubia Polo with chicken, but I am going to do it with ground beef next time I do it after seeing this. Would you do a video one day of the Sabzi Khordan? I know it is fairly simple, but I would like to see how you prepare it and make the star shaped radish.

Ok, I’ll add that. It’s fairly simple but we can all go through the process.
