Macaroni (Persian Style Spaghetti) - Cooking with Yousef

Hi friends -
Today, I make Persian Style Spaghetti, which is called "Macaroni" (ماکارونی). This version is thought of as Iranian comfort food and certainly prepared differently from your familiar, authentic Italian Spaghetti.
But if you have been around Iranian households, you surely have tried this at one point. It's pretty easy to make, and it turns out pretty great especially with some of the added crispy potato tahdig that goes really well with this carb-rich dish.
As a strange side note, Persians often add Ketchup to this dish, much like they do with Pizza. It's certainly not for everyone, as I myself do not add it. In fact, some add a tablespoon or more of ketchup (or brown sugar) to the sauce during the cooking stage. I did not here, but if you like a little sweetness, you can add it to taste. But, it's an option for the adventurous!
