- Hi friends -
Today, we make Ghormeh Sabzi, which is a traditional, authentic Persian Herb Stew. This is among Iranians favorite comfort food and is served in almost every Persian get-together, and of course, any Persian restaurant you go to.
It's not difficult to make, but it requires some ingredients which might be a little harder to find.
I think if you make it this way, you will love it, even if you are at first unfamiliar with the taste.
Also, here is the video on how to make Persian Rice to serve with your Ghormeh Sabzi:

Thank you. My father passed away a few weeks ago and he never got to teach me how to make this. It will always remind me of him. I will make it in his memory.
Bless you my friend 💚
You have come to the right place. Yousuf. Recipes are really authentic
I have tried some of them. Really good
@@Nouf371 There are supposed to be seven herbs in it, not just one.
Lost my grandfather not too long ago, and I know he’ll be so proud carrying on the tradition. My grandmother would cry knowing I’m making Persian dishes.
well, my house was filled with the smell of when I was only 7 years old at my grandmother's home in Iran. That was a feeling of sad and happy at the same time.
Not just the Persian people like it, EVERYONE likes it 👌🏻
I made this dish today but veganized it, I replace the meat with mushrooms, it was thanks to your video that I got the courage to make it!! Thank you so much !!!
When the smell of ghormeh sabzi is in home I'm happy 🙂
I am so happy I found this! My Baba passed away before he could teach me how to make this. I can't wait to make it for New Years!
Bless you my friend

My mom's Iranian friend always makes us Ghormeh Sabzi on special occasions, it's one of my favorite dishes.
I’m not Iranian but I love Iranian food. This is one of my favorite here in Thailand. Unfortunately the Iranian restaurant closed down due to the pandemic. Hopefully they’ll open soon. I realized this dish is not complicated to make, however I’m not sure if I can find some of herbs here. I appreciate your Channel. Hope you’re doing well.
Hello, I am Iranian, thank you for talking about our food
It used to be much harder as people had to spend the whole morning chopping the herbs.
You talk too much. Is annoying . Just get to the bone
I lost both my grandparents last year. This was my favorite thing to eat at their place while growing up. Can’t wait to make this. Bless you Yousef keep making more videos ❤️

I am indian mixed with persian aryan heritage. My young son has totally taken the persian side on looks, preferences and even won't eat indian food. I have totally had to change my style of cooking to persian roots and I tried this recipe. The minute I put it in his mouth, he said he liked it 🤩 so this recipe is a keeper. Thank you for making this video and for explaining how to do it so well! 🧡👌
My boyfriend is Iranian and he loves Persian food so much, but cannot cook at all.
I wanted to learn it for him!

Hello there, I love this dish so much, I'm from south of Iran and my mom cooks the meat with the herbs before adding water and the beans are usually cooked separately and then added to the broth after the meat and herbs are cooked. I learned to do that as well and it always turns out so delicious.

Salam, Yousef! Thank you for this video! We are Persian and I wanted to make my family a few dishes for my grandmothers Birthday. I wasn’t taught how to make ghormeh sabzi, but I wanted to surprise my family for her birthday. Thank you again🙏🏼
There are so many stews throughout the world. Stew is one of my favorite foods. I enjoy tasting all types of foods from all countries. And if I can get the same ingredients, even better..... I'll make my own. Thank you for this wonderful recipe. Liked and Subbed!
Thank you so much for sharing this recipe! My boyfriend introduced me to Ghormeh Sabzi during his family get together parties. It's his favorite (of course) and I've been wanting to learn how to make it so I can surprise him and his family. But every time I looked up how to make it, it looked so intimidating that I doubted if I could even make it well. But after watching your video I'm starting to feel a little more confident in attempting to make it. I can't wait to see how this turns out! Again thank you so much!😊

@@CookingWithYousef Could you use fresh limes if you can’t get dried limes?
@@MaZEEZaM Hi - the dried limes is one of the key ingredients for this food. You should be able to find them in middle eastern markets & possibly Indian markets or online if none is available nearby. I suppose you can try to make them yourself as well, but I've never done this. You can search for it as "Limu-omani".
Thank you! I'd actually never had Iranian food until I moved in with a 2nd generation Iranian immigrant when I was in college and I tried his mom's ghormeh sabzi. I've been dying to try and make this myself, thank you for this! This was easy to follow and it goes well with cardamom tea, plus all the herbs make my apartment smell wonderful.
I've made once. But this one sounds more delicious. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching!
Mate, it looks delish, cheers for sharing.
