Oscar Winner Jamie Foxx Wins Best Actor ►► ua-cam.com/users/shorts3hG3HtwwJ-M
"If you don't win Dad, you're still good", truely mature words coming from a 10 year old girl.
I'd say the same thing and who ever wouldn't is not a very good daughter or son
@@Davidscomix I won't say that's true for everybody, there are some people who feel it but don't say it too often, and there are some people who realise this kind of a thing with age. Being a good daughter or son depends more on what you do for your parents than what you say to them.
@@nikhilbharali5298 you’re right, I just always thought any kid would say this to their parents
In addition, she must be getting 30 or 40 by this time, man she be gorgeous 😍🙌💞✌️just in case, we'll catch up some day😷👍
Its a honor just to be nominated. Which is why actors still put it on their biography regardless if they win or not.
When you beat Johnny Depp Leonardo DiCaprio and Clint Eastwood you know you've made it.
Hey, don't forget Don Cheadle, now lol.
@@kendallrivers1119 right
@@kendallrivers1119 hahahahaha
@@kendallrivers1119 seriously. that year was definitely foxx > LD > cheadle > eastwood > depp. can't leave him out
Don Cheadle would be next if Jamie didn't win
Any man brave enough to cry in front of a group of his peers because he loves, respects, and deeply misses the woman who raised him is a true gentleman in my book.
well said
"She talks to me in my dreams. And I can't wait to go to sleep tonight because we have a lot to talk about." Jamie Foxx--you are a southern gentleman inside and out. Your grandmother saw your gifts and helped you, Amen!
Yeah, that part tore me up. Nothing is better than a grandmother’s love.
I wish I had that kind of grandmother. It's a bummer that I don't but I know she loves me in her own way she just doesn't like to say it or admit it.
Wauw💯❤
People complaining that Leo got robbed act like Jamie Foxx gave a crappy performance. Jamie Foxx BECAME Ray Charles. He earned that Oscar! Leo was not robbed.
+Denise Noles Totally agree. Leo is an outstanding actor but even that Ray Charles and portraying him right is another level. Sorta like Eddie Redmayne when he played Stephen Hawking.
Vanitas FiveNine I saw the The Theory of Everything recently and I was like "WOW." He went there full force. I can imagine how physicaly exhausting it must be to play a character like that.
+Denise Noles Cheadle in hotel rwanda was BANANAS so leo was way down the list
Leo is the most overrated human ever walked the earth
Yeah...Nobody deserved that Oscar more than Jamie. It's not really much of a discussion.
I was in a Starbucks in Hollywood and ran into Jamie Foxx. We ordered our coffees and chatted a few minutes, and literally every thing he said was effortlessly funny and clever, but also wise. When he left I thought; that's one of the most talented people in the world. Then Ray came out and blew everyone away.
Nothing you said surprises me, and I am only a little envious; 'glad you had the chance meeting.
That's a really nice story about your run-in with Jamie Foxx. But I wonder what you would have thought of him if you ran into him on his bad day.
@@matshadi1999 I'm sure he has days where he orders his coffee and keeps to himself. But I still would have said "Love your work sir, Thank you." Any semi normal person would still appreciate that, regardless if they're an Oscar winner or not. If they can't handle someone saying "I respect your work" then they have serious issues.
I've met many celebrities over the years and never had a bad experience other than some ESPN hosts. Jerry Springer is super cool, and Marcus Allen too.
This man is a gift to the world....what he can't do!
bro you have been blessed
There is no denying that Jamie Foxx deserved this Award, because his performance as Ray Charles is one of the greatest acting performances in the history of Film.
Even as someone who was rooting for Di Cabrios best performance In my opinion, I still think Jamie deserved it!
Now Jamie Foxx can add William E. Gary portrayal in The Burial movie as another fantastic performance as well.
I will never forget that Chris Rock joke about his performance in Ray. He said Jamie Foxx was so good in Ray that they had to go and unplug the real Ray Charles.😅😅
Agreed! Right up there with Denzel as Malcolm X and Marlon Brando as Don Corleone. A truly iconic time in Hollywood that we might never see again.
Jay-Z held back no joy when he heard Jamie Foxx won it, much love!
Neither did Clint, Don or Leo. Talk about being classy.

"🎶Tell me what'd I say?🎶"
Jamie Foxx didn't played Ray Charles in that film. He WAS Ray Charles in that film.
Really well deserved Oscar for his phenomenal performance
He WAS! I completely forgot "Jamie Foxx" while watching that movie.
Facts
Yea
@@matshadi1999 THAT'S FACT!
Was just about to comment this. Absolutely💯
If anyone has seen Jamie's Foxx's documentary, his parents abandoned him and he was raised by his grandmother. This is why this speech and his life is amazing. He grew up always wanting his parent's attention... they lived in Texas as well but in another city. I don't know why. But from a young age, Jamie thought, if I can excel in everything, maybe they will come and watch me play. He learned piano, singing, dancing, and he was the starting QB at his high school and broke passing records. But still his parents never came to watch him. Only his grandmother. If his parents are alive... they are definitely watching him now. On TV, In Movies, Magazines, and accepting one of the highest awards in entertainment, Leading Role in a Film at The Academy Awards. For those who don't have the best relationship with your parents. Believe in yourself. Work Hard and Dream Big. Although America has many faults, it is still the land of dreams. Look at Jamie Foxx... Dream Big.
Hey. Could you tell us the title of this documentary film? Thanks! :)
One of the best comments ever on UA-cam. Awesome.
You made me cry!! this guy is amazing
The documentaries about famous people are almost always fake. The press is making up stories about celebs life so people can feel sympathy about them. You believe in everything you see. You are just another blind sheep.
Nevertheless a source of inspiration for millions, whatever the source may be (isn't that what most movies are like?)...way to go for ruining that...
You can sense no jealousy nor insecurities in other nominees, just happiness. Incredible!!!!
KInda. I also watched for each of them, twice. I could hint a pinch of 'Oh, boy...it's the other black dude' on Don Cheadle's face (definitely another real talented gentleman) but nothing alarming, lol. It was just fair. Ray was just the thing.
@@user-ti5dm5gs8m aviator was not overrated or boring wtf
@@user-ti5dm5gs8m Clint was a good choice too. Clint and Don are both amazing but it was definitely Jamie's to win that night.
Leo didn’t stand. Maybe not hate but not respect/classy if ya ask me.
@@NUPE-1911 He shook Jamie’s hand
It would’ve been a crime if Fox hadn’t won the Oscar for Ray. He was unreal and he’ll do it again in Mike Tyson’s life story.
@Sandip Gurung People have been saying the biopic is coming. It's been in development hell. It might never see the light of day or get made with a different actor.
If he portrayed Ray Charles like he did, then Iron Mike will be a piece of cake for him
He definitely did it playing around on in living color as a skit.
naa the crime was that Leonardo dicaprio didnt win it, that is his best performance ever way better than the one he won the oscar for..
@@mrcv1999 But Jamie was Ray to a tee. Sorry but they had it right in 2005. I thought I was watching Ray Charles not Jamie Foxx. Lol.

Nico di Angelo 100%. But over his career, he should have won at least one. But not this year.
Nico di Angelo not everyone thinks Jamie was that amazing in the movie.

nivledamh Jordan Belfort is an Oscar role?
He portrayed Ray Charles so incredibly well. He did this role justice, and made the man he played so proud. He more than deserved this win. RIP Ray Charles. 🙏🏽🙏🏽💙💜🎵🎵
No reason why he shouldnt have won. The dude sounds exactly like ray charles. Golddiggers was Jamie Foxx voice not Ray Charles.

The simple fact that Jamie Foxx came into the acting world playing "LaWanda" on in Living Color to all the way to this. This man is the definition of a master of all crafts.
He is excellent at what he does. Truly talented. Everyone loves Ray but I always loved Django Unchained.

Renee Joy you on point about that
Foxx keeps inspiring people, and for good reason
The genuine humility that just shines through when Jamie speaks, especially about his grandmother, is why this is one of my all time favorite Oscar speeches. He never forgot his roots and where he came from, I love people like that because I came from nothing myself, grew up dirt poor on food stamps and welfare, raised in a trailer park by a single mom and now I have a successful career doing a job that I love. I never forgot my own roots, that I came from the trailer park yet my mom raised me and my brother to carry ourselves with integrity wherever we go so that the world will see that not all trailer park people are trashy and crass. Thank you Mr. Foxx for respecting your grandmother and her lesssons by how you carry yourself. ❤
Robin Williams at 1:35 made me tear up 😢 May he Rest In Peace
Jamie Foxx' acting in Ray was nothing short of extraordinarily legendary. At moments, I completely forgot I was watching a movie, and felt like I was a fly in the wall watching the real Charles.
I still say to this day. Foxx is the most talented person in Hollywood. A world class comedian, a world class singer AND a world class actor? Get the fuck outta here
Not to mention world class musician (pianist) and impressionist
We need more multi-talented performers like him in Hollywood.
I know exactly what you mean!

I felt exactly the same way when I watched the movie! Well said!
Oh, come on, seriously. I'm Leo's fan and he wasn't robbed. Jamie Foxx deserved this Oscar. He really was in his character.

What was the last scene?
I've forgotten; I haven't seen Ray in a long time
Mhamed Benouissa I dont think there was one scene above the other that defined Jamie's role as Ray he just nailed it the entire movie.
+mavimus 8 the last scene was when Ray was awarded the key to Georgia after he was banned from performing there after he refused to play for a segregated audience during the Civil Rights Movement! It was unbelievable how incredibly well Jsmie Foxx played Ray Charles. He had to have his eyes closed the whole time to stay in character and he trained so hard to look and sound like Ray and he pulled it off outstandingly. When I listened to both of them singing "Georgia on my mind" back to back, I was shocked to find seemingly no difference between their voices. Even his expressions and body movements were spot on. Congratulations Jaime, your performance will carry on Ray Charles' memory for generations! :)
Oh, really? That's interesting because one of the special features on the dvd showed Ray Charles performing "Georgia" at a concert and then Jamie Fox performing it in the movie and I thought they were comparing the similarity in their voices. Guess I was wrong haha! He still did an amazing job on the acting though. :)
Monkeystaxx Route 66, Straighten Up and Fly Right,(were sung by Jamie Foxx) and I Got a Woman, Mary Ann, and Hit the Road Jack were also sung by Jamie but with the help of Ray's original tracks!! And yes, you are right, he gave one hell of a performance!!!
