Just gotta say - Ain't nothing in this world more sexy than a Volvo 240 being discussed in a language foreign to me. It's a win win situation. Thank you for your video - but I am going to move forward with a full removal of the intake manifold on my 91 because I really want to detail the engine to the point of being clean. I'm so sick of it being so filthy!
i have some sort of actuator valve right next to my box and it makes it really hard to remove one of the bolts even with the manifold off. whats that valve doing there? 744 turbo intercooler
He doesn't discuss EGR completely covering the first 12 mm bolt holding the box down. And it is nowhere near easy doing this job without removing the intake manifold. And in addition you're going to find that unless someone has done work having removed the intake manifold your gasket is going to be cooked to charcoal and will need replacing. So yeah even with the intake manifold push to the side a few inches you will still need a very thin 12 mm socket to get between the Box and the head of the bolt while putting pressure on the EGR valve pushing away from the 12 mm bolt.
i used a 1/4 ratchet and 12mm deep well socket to get mine out also find it easier to remove the 10mm bolts for the starters harness as they mount to a plate that holds the box down

Remove the battery and take it apart

That is not true. It is just as easy as shown in the video. Unless you have big potato fingers ;-)

@@BoldCreator on intercooled turbo models they put an egr valve right over the bolt closest to the front of engine. Some fuckery required
