@@Overboostracing Agreed, your accent is pretty standard for where you're from and you speak very understandably, speaking slowly isn't a bad thing, either, no problems at all. Keep it up :-)
I could spend more time listening to you talking about redblock stuff. I vote for more English content. Thanks for this one. It’s amazing how simple it is to get power out of those engines. I can’t wait to upgrade mine 😁
G'day, Thank you for the Tim you've taken 2 do this vid..video... love how thorough ur explanations are. Please continue doin these n English, as my German nephew would say "for us stupid Americans " (jokingly of course) 🙏🏁🏎
Thank you very much for the english effort! It's sometimes difficult for non Scandinavian people to find performance content on those red block. Thanks a lot and greetings from France!
Hi from the San Francisco Bay. Yes, please make more videos in English ! A Volvo mechanic friend is building a +T B230, 1977 245 for me as we speak, and I love your methodical work and explanations. It's very educational.
Yes I am very happy you have chosen to do English im a body guy with a 242gt build and I'm going to out in a b230ft in it with a garrett gt3071r also I have a haltech computer system with ls1 coil packs
I don’t usually comment on stuff but this (and your other English video) are great. Please keep up the English content. You Scandinavians need to share your Volvo knowledge with us
I lived in Sweden for about three years back in the mid 1970s and drove a Volvo Amazon, used to work on it to maintain it so I can relate to these videos. I like to watch the Swedish version to see how much I can understand, but from a technical point of view the English version is more informative as my Swedish is a bit rusty now. Keep the videos coming 👍
Just figured I'd say thank you for making your videos in English. It's a small community so I know they won't get many views but your efforts and time doing so is noted and appreciated
You explained it very well in English because you don't talk to quickly and are definitely an expert in this field. Amazed by the potential power output of this old 230 4-cylinder engine.
Finnish watcher here, nice that you made english version of this. Watched swedish one first and was bummed out that I could not understand anything. Great information to get when building my own volvo engines. 👍
I got my 940 months ago and the head gasket blew a month later, i started watching your videos while I was looking for how to fix head gasket on volvo b230 and just got into them now i know allot more than i was expecting to learn and thank you for that
huge fan of your content, even in swedish it is enjoyable (sadly youtube cannot automatically subtitle your comments) would love to see more english videos. Your english is excellent!
Great video! You scandinavians have the best knowledge of these red and white block engines. In you're very good understandable English, it is also available to the rest of the world. Thank you very much.
Thank you! For me this is much easier to understand than trying to understand everything in swedish, even though I am from Denmark :p Great video. Looking forward to more videos in the future hopefully.
Thank you! Been hoping for an english video. Love the channel and all of the redblock content but my swedish is very bad so this is very much appreciated!
Yes! I've watched your Swedish language videos, not understanding any of it, just trying to learn from what I see. I'll watch anything you give us in English about building red blocks.
Definitely more English Videos please. I live in Australia and have a 240GLT Turbo and Two 740 Turbos and enjoy your work. Very informative, thanks a lot.
Excellent video. Can't wait for more English translation. Good to know i can make big power with this motor. Gonna have to try and find a newer 740 engine to build for my 85 245 now 😬
Hi Tommy, thanks for the English vid! I already watched the Swedish version a few days earlier but this is easier to follow for me! Valuable info as I am going to build a fresh b230 turbo for my car.
Hi from Portugal! Great video! Some value info on that! Yes considering making English videos is nice for the rest of the world learn something! Im building one b230ft too so surely I’ll check your future videos I’ve already watched this video but in swedish 😂 and you guessed it I didn’t understand nothing 😂 Keep the good work and we are waiting for more content!
Your English is absolutely amazing!! I'm sure we would all love a build with all factory parts that would be a good contender. Will keep watching anything in English or with subtitles!
Video's on aftermarket engine management in English would be nice. Also some stores that ship parts to the USA, you guys have all the good stuff overseas
I just got a b230T and your videos have helped me so much i wish there wer more English videos on these engines. Your channel is great and you know loads about the B230 im gonna start chasing that power once i get the parts i need
Thanks for the translation! I've been watching your videos, and just hoping i can understand what you are doing by the footage😂 Keen to see more. Your english is great! Lee
This is really good and useful content, definitely keep going. The other videos about building 600 hp redblock are in my favourites. By the way, it is still quite amazing that one can build a 700 whp car with such an ancient engine technology-wise. I wonder how much boost does a 8v redblock need to hit 700 whp and how the torque curve would look like. I saw flow graphs of 531 head vs the 16v head and the 531 figures didn`t look impressive on the paper. It was like 170 cfm and 280 cfm respectively.
And also I wonder if you happen to have any experience with new smaller high flowing turbines on redblocks like Garret g25 or new borg EFR. I`m building a redblock (stroked b21 with oil sprinklers (lol) and forged internals with 531 head) and want to achieve the broadest torque curve possible for everyday/track use, but still want to have decent power like 500+ ish whp
This video was great and its amazing to see that good engine building procedures go across all languages. Could you maybe talk more about what the oil flame trap box has been replaced with? What Valve springs & valves? What part # are the ARP studs you used?
Hello from Australia! I can't fault your English and I look forward to seeing more videos from you in English, if you can. I'm still learning about the redblocks and I want to tune my 740 turbo! 😁
Like your work! I have a boat with a Volvo AQ171-c red block and I am trying to learn what parts (such as Cam Belt replacement Kits) are available from car engines, as Boat suppliers charge so much more than cars!!! Cheers.
Great video, lovely rebuild. Your english is pretty good. I understand your explanations easily compared to american buddies not mumbling but constantly eating words speaking too fast with duck emphasis 😄 I live in France and we are rebuilding a red block for my car after we ruined the first one stupidly... Oil pump shaft was not held in correct position: it got lifted up, that broke the auxiliary shaft that fell into conrod #4 path. Piston #4 broke releasing its conrod that destroyed the engine block both sides. Every conrods got bent, complete engine low end got destroyed. Apparently, these engines produce strong vibrations between 2000 and 3000 rpm that it can make the oil pump shaft to left its correct position if not held properly.
Excellent English and can't wait for these videos to get going. So many questions that I'm sure you will cover off. Firstly please explain that water pump mod.
Hi Tommy. Your English voice over is great. I like it. You say to torque the head bolts to 150Nm and no more or the head or block crack. What parts crack? I like your 'Girdle' plate you put on your engines. I think that is very good. I have a 2.5 litre AQ151C engine, several B230FK/T engines and a B230FB engine. They are all 1992+. I shall to use the B230FB block as my start point as it has little wear and has squirters and use the AQ151C crank as that engine does not have squirters and is rusty on the outside from salt water. I think the AQ151C engine was in a boat but was hardly used. It is perfect inside. I have various cams A, Vx Vx3, B, T etc from various engines and brown (Ford) injectors, 3" AMM, 15G turbo etc to hopefully hit about 220Hp. I have had these parts a long time but it will be a project for the future. Keep up the good videos. Rob
