    Intermittent Fasting along with periodic prolonged fasting has changed my life in ways unimaginable. 59 yeas old on 2 BP meds, triclyceride meds and albuterol along with 4 Pepcid AC per day at 185 pounds on August 4, 2021. Today I weigh 137 and as I type this on hour 60 of a fast and I feel great. Not the slightest bit hungry. After losing all my visceral fat I now have a BP of 120/65 and been taken off both BP meds and triglyceride medication after my last bloodwork at my PCP visit. Not one Pepcid AC because I have no heartburn either. I dropped all sugar drinks when I started this venture and will never go back, never. I feel 20 again. As far as my "asthma" I was being treated for, I couldn't do 10 jumping jacks without wheezing before and now I'm running 3 miles every other day along with weightlifting. My "asthma" was visceral fat crowding my lungs out I think. This all started when I saw Dr. Jamnadas video about sugar and realized how tired and bad I always felt and nothing got done around the house because I was so lazy. Now to convince my wife of 38 years that I'm not looking for a girlfriend and I'll be in good shape. 😁

      Congratulations to you!👏. My story is very similar. I'm 58 and a little over a year ago I was almost 300lbs, high blood pressure, asthma, osteoarthritis with bone spurs and in incredible pain. I was a mess and in a very dark place in my life.
      I came across a video (Devine intervention?) by Dr Jason Fung and it changed my life. I also started following Dr. Jamnades and others.
      Now, just a little over a year later, I've lost 150lbs (half of what I was!😲), I'm off my blood pressure meds, my osteoarthritis pain is so much better I'm able to be active again and swimming and my asthma is gone.
      I eat a low carb high fat diet and intermittent fasting. My life has changed. I can't believe how well I feel! And... I did it quietly and it didn't cost me anything! 😊. I'm humbled and so thankful for these doctors and they are in my daily prayers. Thanks for listening and again, congratulations on your success! Be well 🙏😊

      @@jessicajohnson4087 Hearing from you just solidified my opinion of this being the best thing out there and you brought up something I failed to mention. While reading your story I realized I forgot to mention in mine that my osteoarthritis is gone, not just a little better, 100% gone. My fingers especially were so stiff and painful and my only treatment was 600mg ibuprofen. No more. The only pills that go down my throat are a multivitamin, 25mg zinc and 2 pills that are 80mcg K2 and 5000IU vitamin D3. Also, as much as I like my PCP you really have to be your own doctor and diagnose yourself. Doctors don't have the time to spend on everyones problems individually and are too quick to write a prescription to treat instead of a plan to cure. Don't ever leave the path your on💪

      @@markwhite6782 Thanks so much! Now that I have learned how, I will not (can't) ever go back to how I was. I sure wish my osteoarthritis pain and discomfort was completely gone but it's so much better, I can live with it. It's in my right ankle and my doctor said she's never seen so many bone spurs along with the arthritis. I was on cortisone injections every three months, wore orthotics, an ankle support brace that went up to my knee and needed a cane to walk. So I didn't want to walk. So I kept gaining weight etc. Although I suppose it was obvious that losing weight would help, I've dieted and yoyo'd my whole life. By the way, none of the doctors I saw ever suggested I lose weight even though it should have been obvious to them I was a metabolic mess!
      It took these doctors on UA-cam to care enough to teach me why and how. Now, I only need an orthotic in my shoes. I still limp as my foot is stiff and doesn't flex but I don't care because I feel so good otherwise. My husband says I have a cute Charlie Chaplin gate. 😂
      Fasting is so different than anything I've ever done. Something magical and spiritual happens when your body is allowed to heal itself.
      I'm still hoping my osteoarthritis will continue to heal. It's been a transformational year for me and I think I remember one doctor saying it could take up to three years to heal so we'll see. I'm at my goal weight so now 2022 will be learning how to maintain with intermittent fasting. It's part of my life now and always will be. Thanks again for sharing your story and listening to mine. God bless 🙏😊

      @Mark and @Jessica - so inspired by you guys! I am 51 and have just crossed the line from pre-diabetes to diabetes-proper. I am overweight. My body is stiff and I feel too lazy and heavy to do any physical activity. My doctor has gradually started increasing metformin and other tablets. But she, as a side-bar, also advised me to look up "intermittent fasting" on You Tube. I have now stumbled upon Dr Pradip Jamnadas and Dr Jason Fung's videos and have started my journey - just about a week ago. I am able to drop breakfast and fast from 8pm to 12 noon - which is 16 hrs. Hope I can carry on and meet success as you have done.

    • @jessicajohnson4087
      @jessicajohnson4087 2 роки тому +3

      @@Ari_00X Hi! You can do this! Believe me, it gets easier as you go. Cut out ALL refined carbs and sugars and increase your natural fats. This will satisfy you. I use heavy cream in my coffee and sprinkle it with cinnamon. This is the best decision you have made for yourself and you will be surprised how your body will heal itself.
      Please read Dr. Fung's book The Obesity Code. It will teach you why fasting works and diets don't. I never thought I would be a size 8! I was size 26 when I started and almost 300lbs. I was such a mess! The year goes so fast and was fun losing. Here's a tip...find a few resale and thrift stores to buy clothes cheap on your way down! I would go every month to get my new sizes and donate last months back! 😆. I wish you all the best and mostly..be well!🙏

    I had every listed side effect from statins and I stopped them because my doctor wouldn't. He had me on them for 10 years....horror. After 3 months of stopping statins all symptoms gone, I lost a lot of weight, sugar regulated and blood pressure down. I have never felt more mobile and happy. I should add I never had a major cardio event but did have high cholesterol. I don't know what my cholesterol is now because doctor won't test it if I won't take statins. How dumb is that. I follow a diet close to paleo and I am over 70, exercise daily, dropped sugar.

    Can a statin cause a pain in lower left side of back.? My husband had a heart attack 6 months ago and had quadruple by pass, was put on lots of drugs, one is a statin, this pain came out of nowhere, he had been tested for everything. Everything is fine, yet he is still in pain. Been to chiro, massage , drugs etc, still there x 1 month. Feels ok when he sits, hurts standing and lately hurts in groin area. He doesn't remember lifting anything heavy etc that would cause anything. I might have him stop statin for a bit, see if it goes away. He also did a 3 day fast.

      Many people seem to believe the commercials and think that cereal is “healthy”. It isn’t. Raisin bran is just sugar, topped with sugar, and eaten with sugary liquid. If a pb sandwich is essentially just processed bread with peanut butter that has palm oil and sugar, it isn’t healthy either. Your diet was average at best.
