I had hypoglycemia for years. Decades, actually. Went to the doctor, was sent for tests over and over. No doctor EVER suggested I cut down on sugars and carbohydrates. Simply unbelievable. Once I cut down my sugars, my hypoglycemia disappeared just like that. What are they teaching doctors in all the years of their medical school???
So unbelievable - right? And yet, we are supposed to revere these people! I have a young relative who became a doctor and this person let themselves get really sick from an ear infection. I mean really sick to the point where this person couldn’t care for their own children. I asked why they didn’t just give themselves an antibiotic? They said they needed another doctor to look in their ear because they couldn’t look into their own ear. Seriously?
We need more naturopaths. Regular doctors just push drugs. I have internal vibrations. The neurologist gave a prescription for a drug that has horrible side effects. Never took them. I finally noticed that consuming sugar and carbs made my nerves worse. The past 2 weeks, I stopped using sugar and cutting back on carbs. My nerves have since subsided tremendously. It's hard though, not able to have a sweet treat. Can't drink alcohol as well, but I can't take the nervousness that eats away inside of me, so refraining as much as possible to rid this demon inside of me.
As a retired Cardiac Intensive Care Nurse , this is the most accurate information I have heard in many years. So pay attention everyone. This honest to the point lecture will save your life or certainly improve it as you age. Thank You.
I drink a glass of water when I wake up and then have a cup of coffee. I eat two scrambled eggs every morning from my backyard chickens for breakfast. I love breakfast, love eggs. I make all my meals from scratch. I do use milk in my coffee.
you re probably doin better than 90% of all people I love eggs, too. I try not to eat anything for 18 hours every day. As I am usually really hungry after a day of work, I skip breakfast. Just the lesser of two evils for me :-)
Don’t you think that it should be parents who teach their children about healthy eating and good food. Why should it be teachers who already have their hands full teaching the curriculum. Honestly! Some people always lay the work and the blame on someone else’s shoulders. Try taking some responsibility yourselves!
My mother virtually eliminated sugar from my diet when I was about 13. I used to beg her to get sugar for my cereals's. To which she replied, "there's plenty of sugar in cereals already." How right she was and still is. There's no mother more important, than a knowledgeable one that imparts that information when necessary.
I would give my grandson non sugar cereal and sprinkled some sugar on top. He felt like I was loading on the sugar but didn't realize he got far less than he would have with (ex: fruity pebbles) he thought he was getting more. I think it was a win!
When I was in high school the sports coaches use to tell their student athletes to eat a candy bar before a workout because that will give them energy.
It's because the owners of big pharma own the food industry and influence the educational system. They push bad food to make us sick, then push pharmaceuticals to make us better.
I’ve been eating healthy since age 23 . I’m now 55. I have watched my friends and family get sick because of poor diet decisions. Excellent advice here! ❤
Are you smoking crack? You’ve injected so many steroids that you have easily taken 10 years off your life. If that’s a picture of your boyfriend then I’m wrong but I’m pretty sure that’s you.
- eat the fruit not the juice - yoghurt (no added sugar) - 2 eggs - blueberries - no cereal - no milk for adults - fibre 30g - coffee is fine - not too much grapes - NO fructose (too much non seasonal fruit/juice)
I should've listened to my father. He has a steady diet of whole foods and consumes very little sugar and processed foods. My father is now 82 in very good health.
My aunt always gives me a hard time for skipping breakfast and doesn't understand the idea of intermittent fasting. She also finds it weird that I don't put milk in my tea. I do admire that she accepted that soda and processed foods aren't good for us.
@@Kevinschart Same, especially when working a high stress job. Days off I'm able to go longer without eating but I'm better eating during the day than evening.
Exactly, I have friends and family that insist they feel weak if they don't eat because their blood sugar gets too low. They do not understand what is going on and refuse to listen. So sad.
They have to want to know the truth to have their eyes opened. The companies they work for can't be allowed to restrict their ability to share the truth with patients. The whole "system" has devolved into a health 'uncare' system. 😥😥
God Bless you Sir,I watched your videos 2 months ago for the first time and I've cut out sugar and fast every day ever since. Before I was 225 to 230lbs now I'm at 195lbs I also coupled this with exercise and the weight keeps falling off. They are days I don't even feel hungry but I eat something cause I work 2 jobs just to get a little of energy. Everytime I look in the mirror I just feel so grateful THANK YOU AGAIN SIR AND GOD BLESS YOU!!
@@QueenOfPrinciple it's varies, most days I eat scrambled eggs with some tomato and cucumber, chicken with sweet or mash potato, some mac and cheese with some corned beef
So to summarize: 1) preferably only water 2) avoid sugar 3) avoid eating a lot of carbs - a bit of fruit and potatoes or rice should suffice. 4) good fats and protein 5) a lot of greens and veggies (fiber), especially for gut health 5) feast and fast, no need to eat every couple of hours. Did I get something wrong ?
Also - eat the fruit not the juice - fiber is important not just to relieve constipation but also to feed the good bacteria in the gut. - cheese ok except for those trying to lose weight
I am so glad this channel exists! In todays influencer world, such pure, unfiltered information from a doctor himself is so valuable!! Thankyou doctor for taking time out of your regular schedule to educate the general public.
You saved my life, Dr. Jamnadas. I watched your two lectures: "The Bittersweet Truth" and "Fasting for Survival" I've lost 90 lbs in just over 6 months using keto and intermittent fasting. My cardiologist is thrilled. I'm telling my friends to watch you, Dr. Eric Berg, and Jason Fung, MD. Glad to see your lovely beard again. :o)
Yes, I think too the beard is very nice, particularly around Christmas. i did not lose so much as you and others, but on IF and keto, I feel much better, I went from 160 to 146 lbs since August, and managed to infect many people with the Message, with great results.
I think you don’t need to lose anymore, just to keep it at that level about but for somebody who weighs 280 pounds much easier to lose 60 or 70 lbs then for you to lose 2 pounds
I did a similar live version of this presentation in my daughter's 2nd grade class five years ago on essential breakfast items and the detrimental effects of sugar. I used a human cut out and attached various organs and pointed out how much sugar affected such organs. I had the kids engaged and asking a ton of questions. The kids loved it!!
@@MichaelTheophilus906 Right, but we're talking about young kids here. So the question is... Are their parents continuing to allow them to eat highly inflammatory and unhealthy foods, including the school lunches which is essentially garbage?
Totally agreed! I started developing allergies 10 years after I live in USA, by 38 years old, I can't get prenant, I started doing on some resarches, found some horrible truth on the products that we use/eat daily! I stop eating KFC and Mcdonold's food, but still there are so much chemicals in our food chain..The tomatos don't taste like tomatos 30 years ago...it's hard to eat nutrious food any more. The mother nature helps us human to grow, to be stronger, but human ourselves destructively make our own to get sick and weaker...The billionairs who are on the top of these business have money to eat nutrious food, own private islands, yet they create products/food chains to feed the rest of poors to get sicker...that's how it is in our world now..I REALLY MISS SOME OF THINGS WE DON’t HAVE ANYMORE IN 80s…
Yes it’s very hard to eat natural foods now unless you grow your own veggies and fruits. It’s just sad because no matter how clean you want to eat, you can’t anymore.
Yes I believe they can import good food, have chefs that know how to prepare nutritious food. They have trainers that are educated while the rest of us struggle with trying to afford what we think may be good food. Most produce in stores in midwest in winter look dead and awful and are expensive.
It all starts and ends with what we put in our mouth indeed. But its very hard (especially in the west) to eat the right things in these times. So we say ah poor villagers in Ethiopia, but they still know what to eat and what not. Meanwhile we get sick and ruin our children asking them if they think they are really a boy or girl. Its sad, and a waste of all the hard work of our ancestors.
Thanks a lot for these very educational videos! As a Vascular Surgeon, I can confirm that educating Patients and helping them correct their lifestyle Is a game changer in facing and fighting cardiovascular diseases! Keep up the good work I really appreciate it!
Doctors and nutritionists still peddle expired, incorrect information. Why? If a lower-IQ dolt like me can figure out healthy fats, why can't they? "its the seed oils, stupid!"
I've been keto with too much coffee with cream for snacks and have high blood pressure, high cholesterol and fatty liver. It's not true is all about sugar...
I have cardiovascular disease vasculitis, small vessels bleeding and its the most extricating pain . I have cut down sugar salt etc and eating greens now
Dr. Pradip Jamnadas, MD, I've just discovered your videos which I am enjoying immensely for their informational content and value. I've already begun sharing them with my students and my sons. Beyond that, however, I must say this.....you, my good Brother, feel like such a beautiful soul, a beautiful Human. I feel your intense interest in the health and wellness of humanity and your passion for a better life and world for all. THANK YOU for your genuine love for us all and for promoting the beautiful Unity of Life. Eternal blessings to you, your family, and to all that pertains to you, my beautiful Brother.
I find it amazing that our government publishes dietary guidelines that tell us to avoid added sugar and then allow those high sugar-containing cereals to be sold (especially to children) so that kids grow up on sugar and continuously high insulin resulting in diabetes later in life. Thank you Dr. J for your clear instructions on foods for a healthy diet. You are helping to save our country from the food industry.
Well the dietary guideline pannel is far less powerful than lobbies. That's all the gouvernement is on the side of Big money, not your health. Meat is killing us. It's animal fats wich cause diabetes and insuline resistance.
@@ayshafareed4935 well we know they had artherosclerosis. So their life span was short. Sorry but I want to be healthy and live longer than primitive people.
My breakfast used to be leftover burger king meal and dinner would be a Chinese takeaway with fizzy drink and ice cream as dessert. Not to mention I snacked throughout the day. Didn’t put in weight, so I kept on eating and my stomach just kept on swelling up like a balloon. Went vegan and ate too much sugars and carbs. Thank God for UA-cam and Drs like you who spread their knowledge online. So we can have access to info that can provide us with a start into transforming our lives through our eating choices. Had VERY HIGH blood pressure. Changed diet and hit the 150m of vigorous exercise. Terrifying what garbage is for sale in restaurants and grocery stores. BP is way down, but I have work to do still....no pills! Thanks Doctor.
Unfortunately I'm on bp meds 31 deal with health exiety had multiple tests on heart all fine but bp goes to 170s I really need to quit smoking and eat healthy but wish exiety would go away
Im also leary about what they are putting in our foods now. Everytime we get hamburger meat from meijer and other stores. Its pink on the outside and brown in the middle. Thats just wrong of them to deceive us. Also worried about hormones in chicken
Since I started watching you I've become so addicted ... I've just been on a 19/6 IF the past 3 days and I feel amazing. For the first time in my life I am able to go without breakfast...and it's such a win
Dr J, You are the only other MD I've heard say the same things Dr Lustig says during his presentations. From avoiding processed food to the importance of fiber and everything in between. A big thumbs up to you, sir!
This advice has been so good for me. I had been trying to figure out why I could not lose weight and balance my hypertension. After following these videos I've been able to maintain better weight, stick to fasting, and no more hypertension episodes. I am doing much better. It's been great. Thank you so much doc and God bless you.
BEWARE. Anyone, on UA-cam, can pretend to be a doctor. Much of the advice is flawed and long term - dangerous! Talk to your REAL doctor and see a dietician. (Ask yourself a question - "Why would a REAL doctor need to make money by posting on UA-cam?)
@@childofthe60s100 because they see the epidemic of obesity in this country and how it is killing people. There is not one doctor in my life that has helped me on a weight loss journey…not one. I spent my time during Covid researching all the information I could find on why I couldn’t lose weight after my doctor suggested weight loss surgery. This doctor and many others explained in simple terms how I could turn things around. I lost 85pounds, got off my blood pressure meds ( my cardiologist was shocked). I haven’t had heart burn in two years, my eyesight improved, I no longer need glasses for distance, no more achy joints. I’m living proof these doctors want to help people by simply giving them truthful information.
You changed my life forever. After years of experiments with eating plans and diets, I finally found the truth in your teachings. I am now healthier and with more energy than ever. Thank you so much!
So happy you are doing these videos!!! I am a dietician who has worked for the government WIC program for 15 years. It provides cereal and juice to children 1-5yrs old . Makes me so mad! People think if it’s on the program it means it’s good and kids are drinking 24 oz of juice a day!!
Yes, sugar is like poison for the body. Causes all kinds of illness and skin problems rashes, acne, and so much more. And it's so highly addictive too.
I was checking out at the grocery and a little girl with her mom behind me looked at me and told me my food was gross. It was all whole foods . It made me laugh .
@@shaheerali3187 it’s really sad to see young kids already programmed to eat all of these things never meant to be in our bodies . Her comment made me laugh because kids are so brutally honest, but really it was a testament to how she is learning to eat, and that’s pretty sad.
You should've told her that you feel the same way about her food lol jk unfortunately it's not her fault she doesn't eat well. I probably would've just smirked and said a silent prayer that she gains awareness as she gets older 🙏🏾
As a certified nutritionist and chef, I am in complete agreement with Dr. Jamnadas. He's speaking to all the issues I see with my clients and even family...they are the hardest to "convince", LOL. So, will follow the doc and probably refer to some of his videos wherein he addresses those issues to back up my advice. Thank you Dr Jamnadas for your clear and convincing reporting on what food does for the body and brain.
had anyone ever written a book on what you can actually eat instead of what you can’t? i’d like to see a book on “100 days of breakfast” - something like that
The American breakfast is so unhealthy. I’ve trained myself to change how I think about breakfast. I start with at least one vegetable every morning. Soups, salads, egg - all great options.
@@m4tta i hear that, but then we get told don’t eat too many eggs, avocados, carbohydrates etc. i can make a healthy meal, but i’m not sure i can make healthy meals for 100 days.
Ive eaten boiled or scrambled eggs every morning for 15 years. Why do you need to have 100 different choice's? Nobody had choices like that in any other time in history.
@@cincin4515 Well that’s a good point. I didn’t mean 100 completely different breakfast recipes as such. Whenever I see people talk about healthy breakfast, I see them say “yes eggs, but not too many”, same with avocados and various other foods. I like a bit of variety; not so much for its own sake but because there are different nutrients out there. for example, eggs are high in protein but low in fibre. When I look at instagram accounts showing healthy meals they look amazing but I often think “Nice, but every day?” tbh I’m just skipping breakfast now, but it just defers the question of what I am actually going to eat, and it does always come back to eggs! What bugs me about recipe books is that the recipes are always freestanding; they don’t take into account the reality of food shopping. An ideal cookbook for me would take me through like a week or a month or more, reusing leftovers and mixing them with freshly cooked food etc. I would have thought that in the age of apps and automated shopping, that would work very well, but we still throw away mountains of food in my family.
I see the tidal wave of sugar you are talking about. I never knew about the fruit juice until you picked that out. What you say makes perfect sense. Eat the fruit with the fiber not any fruit juice. No more orange juice for breakfast. Stay away from added sugar.Understood. We have been marketed to our own deaths by these huge food companies.
My grandkids pediatrician had their mom it they had juice it was watered down to 1/2 water 1/2 juice. When they could eat fruits it was preferred. Milk after one year and eating regular foods was maybe a cup with meals.
I appreciate this video a lot . I am new here and I have learnt a lot . No wonder my grahdpa lived 122 years on earth . He skipped breakfast and prefer to drink water if at all he needs to , and fasted intermittently for at least 6 hours . He lived his life on natural fruits and vegetables. Thank you doctor for this great lecture .
Thank you ! Just found you and I am struggling to lose weight. I am a 55 year old nurse trying to eat healthy in a high stress career. It certainly gets more challenging as I age
I was blending a ton of blueberries, strawberries, banana, and cranberry for almost 1 month. I didn't realize that I was overwhelming my liver. Then I began to get really tired for no reason which was very unusual for me. This went on for almost 2 weeks and I started to get concerned. I decided to stop the blending of the fruits and within a few days my system went back to normal. I stopped getting tired and need to sleep. I was blending about 6 cups of the stuff. I had a blood test a few weeks later and found that my glucose levels were elevated. Needless to say, I no longer blend any fruits. Too much of a good thing can be dangerous.
I am happy for you good luck 👍 The only thing the Doctor is not explaining is that we have a sugar addiction in America just like the drug addiction we have been eating sugar and processed food fast food so long most people don't have the discipline to stop people have to take small steps at eating correctly to have better health it's a lifestyle change
@@andrewakins1714 - A good rule of thumb which helped me lose 20 lbs is this: never drink calories. This simple rule, if followed strictly, is a great start that anyone can follow because it’s simple and clear.
That's because it's way too much SUGAR- particularly fructose, which is particularly hard for the liver to process. Moderation in all things is a good rule of thumb.

Fasting intermittently works for me, I lose weight every time and it recalibrates my idea of hunger. I stay tuned and rewatch to embed the learning of what to eat, when I do eat.
Thank you for setting the record straight on the cholesterol content of egg yolks. My understanding is that your body converts dietary cholesterol into other things (triglycerides?) and that serum cholesterol was the result of liver activity. I can't tell you how many *medical* *dieticians* have told me not to eat eggs because they're high in cholesterol. I'd read the studies years ago on NIH PubMed that contradicted this. It's so frustrating how much outdated "tribal knowledge" practitioners in the field have.

I'm so glad you mentioned reactive hypoglycemia! I had to give up old fashioned rolled oats (organic). Two hours after eating, I crash, hard. I shake, I feel awful, I've come close to passing out. It's like my body has become possessed. My doctor hasn't been very concerned, so I stopped eating oatmeal, rice cereal etc. Diet modifications and glucose tablets helps.

Alot of foods also depend on your genes. Milk is fine to drink as an adult you have tribes in Africa who herd cattle for a living and they drink milk daily. It depends on alot of things.
Those tribes own heritage animals and drink the milk raw or fermented. In western society we drink highly processed milk from genetically modified cows. We're comparing apples and oranges.
@@sportysbusiness all I'm saying is alot of what's actually good for you also depends on your genes and what your people eat. Dr. Jamnadas, I love your videos! Could you discuss foods for different conditions? I have CKD stage 2 with proteinuria. I’m not supposed to eat a lot of protein, but carbs tend to set me off wanting sugar. I can’t eat eggs every morning, and with work I feel weak sometimes if I fast. Is oatmeal with done raw honey ok? A CKD diet with low protein is tough? I wish I could do keto, but my kidneys are a tough X factor! Too much potassium or phosphorous is tough on them.
Omad is king, point blank....period. And you can have sugar, in moderation during that one meal. For example, one decent sized cookie, or some brown sugar in your oatmeal. Im convinced that fasting is the way to live, keeps you lean, is more convenient......and will keep you a bit more comfortable when food gets scarce. And yes, it will get scarce. Those who are reliant on eating all day, and not fat adapted, are going to be very hangry/uncomfortable.
I could fast all day AFTER breakfast. I have my main meal in morning and graze single items (fruits, nuts, bit of fish, miso soup, etc) throughout the day as needed. Healthy & fit.
Such a relief to finally understand the fundamentals of fat-storage/fat-burning mechanisms. Responsible fasting has improved many parts of my life. Thanks for the knowledge!
If you want to burn up more fat, eat more fat, first thing each day.. like drinking 1 tbsp of Virginia olive oil, avocado oil, coconut oil or wheat germ oil.
Wow that is so awesome. I saw you on a podcast recently, and I just found out you've been in Orlando for over 30 years? I've passed your building by the science center so many times. In a nutrition class; the teacher told us to only shop the perimeter because that's where the simple whole foods are. I've found that a small amt of fresh fruit and a good amount of fiber with a non-dairy unsweetened milk and a scoop of natural nut butter works awesome for Me in the morning.
Thank you Dr Jamnadas. You have changed my life and my looks ( no belly) I fast and feast every day. Our family`s diet is healthier than ever. Your physiology make easy explanations are mind changing. Looking forward to more videos.
I love this guy. He's so funny and keeps it 100. Wow. You ROCK. I can listen to this doctor all day and I do. Blessings to you my friend for giving us life changing help.
Hypoglycemia since birth… affected my concentration, clarity of thinking, physical abilities and most assuredly my education…once I figured it out it’s like I flipped a switch…. Protein protein protein and a few green veggies, berries and sweet potatoes….my own children are gifted learners… no sugar in their diets
Thank you Doctor Jamnadas for all this information. For 3 weeks I've been watching your videos and following your advice. I feel amazing. I did a 32 hour fast last weekend, and now when I eat, I feel satiated much quicker. No more processed garbage from here on out. I have pcos and pre-diabetes, I don't wanna live with this for the rest of my life. Anyway, now I am trying to get my mother onto your advice!
Absolutely loved this video, people in my life don’t want to believe this information and act like I’m crazy for not eating sugar or simple carbs but I can’t blame them from all the bad nutritional information they have been taught their entire lives like the insane food pyramid that’s basically a guide to get diabetes and gain weight.
Breakfast this morning, a huge deal as I don't usually want anything but I bought organic fruit which is so much nicer and so had apple, kiwi, 2 boiled eggs, few walnuts, a few olives, cucumber and a small amount of cheese. It was honestly the best breakfast. Hoping to get to lunch time without picking....water in place of....
My mums 99 this year n I just turned 70. We eat whole foods and very few processed food, except cheese, live it unfortunately. But we grow about 80% of all we eat and d eggs we get from farm who feed their chioks on greens n organic grown grains they mix themselves. We don't drink juices. Eat the whole fruits in season. Perfect blood tests my cholesterol were higher then they recommended, but wouldn't check the types of ldls. Dr said no fat, no eggs, no avocado etc. I didn't listen n just up my walking n now it's lower n fine. Thanks Dr. You talk sense and the diet we love.
This is great advice. Unfortunately, most doctors are not trained in nutrition. They are pushed down the big pharma route. There is a place for medicine, but good diet and nutrition can be a preventative to many diseases.
So hard to not drink my favorite cranberry pomegranate juice or a ginger ale. But I must if I want to lose weight and not have energy crashes throughout the day. So motivated by this Dr and his videos I just now found today!! Thanks!! 🙏🏻
Thank you for all that you put into your videos. You explain in a way that is easy to absorb and you don't rush through things. I look forward to seeing more of your videos.
It's hard to eat more real food everyday. Especially when you are get used to eat something spicy food with lots of seasoning since young age. But, I want to change this habit for a better life. Little by little. More real food than processed one. And trying to eliminate more sugar. Thanks doctor. God bless you.🙏
I had hypoglycemia for years.
How to be drug (pushers) salesmen unfortunately
So unbelievable - right? And yet, we are supposed to revere these people! I have a young relative who became a doctor and this person let themselves get really sick from an ear infection. I mean really sick to the point where this person couldn’t care for their own children. I asked why they didn’t just give themselves an antibiotic? They said they needed another doctor to look in their ear because they couldn’t look into their own ear. Seriously?
Is your doctor Homer Simpson
We need more naturopaths. Regular doctors just push drugs. I have internal vibrations. The neurologist gave a prescription for a drug that has horrible side effects. Never took them. I finally noticed that consuming sugar and carbs made my nerves worse. The past 2 weeks, I stopped using sugar and cutting back on carbs. My nerves have since subsided tremendously. It's hard though, not able to have a sweet treat. Can't drink alcohol as well, but I can't take the nervousness that eats away inside of me, so refraining as much as possible to rid this demon inside of me.

My mother virtually eliminated sugar from my diet when I was about 13. I used to beg her to get sugar for my cereals's. To which she replied, "there's plenty of sugar in cereals already." I would give my grandson non sugar cereal and sprinkled some sugar on top. He felt like I was loading on the sugar but didn't realize he got far less than he would have with (ex: fruity pebbles) he thought he was getting more. I think it was a win!

For the first MD that I've listened to in a long time that is informed and knows what he's talking about with food very smart I'm glad you take the time to learn these things because 99% of these other MD's don't
Like you and your lecture. I have been eating very low sugar diet for a long time. My grandmother used all unprocessed foods when cooking for our family and I cook from scratch also. My friends won't listen to me but I'll refer your videos to them. Good work Dr.
Dr. Jamnadas, I ran across one of your seminars posted here for fasting. I absolutely appreciate all the wonderful information you give here. You give connections, causes and reasons and the how to on so many of these important health and diet matters. Thank you so very much for sharing your knowledge and your concerns for other humans. You are doing a wonderful job and are such a gift to humanity. Bless you!
Yep. I used to eat it too. Was hungry 2 hours later.
Same things happens to me a couple hours after eating oatmeal in the morning but I still eat just 1/4 cup sometimes an hour before bed if I didn’t eat dinner…it helps me sleep😉
@@Paoula good time to pass out..lol 😁
Interesting because I have found recently that Organic Oatmeal fills me up for hours and it's doing me good.
I'm so glad I decided to eat Organic Oatmeal.
I eat it mid-morning with fruit. It's doing this body good 😊
@@CY-pt2jn where does he talk about oatmeal I missed that part
I generally don't eat breakfast because this makes me feel sluggish... However eating one meal a day is great idea for me ☺️
I have watched several of your videos so far in the past few weeks. I lost my father in December due to a clot that stopped circulation in his legs. He had a quadrupal bypass years before that. I have sense changed my normal American diet to eliminate as much sugar, preservatives, and processed foods as possible. I just turned 49, and I feel so much better now. I grew up with a Mexican stepdad, so beans were a staple, and lucky for me, I love all kinds of beans. I have at least one bowl every day for the fiber and other fantastic nutrients. Thank you so much for this information. I love to cook and eat southern comfort food, but, sense eating healthy for a while. I have completely lost the desire for those foods. Your lecture on being addicted to sugars (junky) lol. That is the one that made me quit sugars. Thanks again.
UA-cam keeps unsubbing me. I am getting fed up with these platforms thinking they are out masters. What amazing and insightful info I’m grateful to you 🙏🏽
Thank you for your health lectures! I just started intermittent fasting and I start feeling better, lighter, joint pains are disappearing & think smarter 😊I started sharing your lectures to all my friends and families!
A few years ago, I switched to eating mostly whole foods and only during an 6 hour window during the day. Then I fast for 24 hours once per week. I also drink kombucha almost every day. I feel much better, and my skin cleared up. If I eat something processed or greasy, I feel like absolute garbage for a few days. It is crazy how poisonous a lot of American food is.
Thanks for sharing 😊
Diet pop, the biggest lie in the world, sells like crazy, is a slow way to die nothing but chemicals in it !
What is Kombucha?

I also did a very easy 41-hr fast from Friday to Sunday morning; it was easy because I’m off sugar, so not hungry all the time anymore. Talk about feeling great after that fast!!
Thank you, Dr. Jamnadas! I am greatful for the time that you have sacrificed to help educate me concerning this matter. Again, many thanks!
Dr. Jamnadas, it was your lecture on fasting for survival that illuminated and ignited me about the foods that we're eating. I believe you are God's answer to my prayers to help me loose weight. From 90kg, I'm now 77kg. I can handle 2 days without eating. I'm making fasting part of my daily life now and even encouraging my fiance to do so. Whenever I meet people, I'm sharing my experience through your lectures fasting for survival and fat lies. Thank you much sir. I'll continue to share your lectures. Godspeed and more power. 🙏 so much grateful of you sir.
Never have I ever been so interested in medical lectures. Amazing teacher along being an amazing doctor. Lots of good information, thanks for sharing and helping people.
I am not overweight, but that means nothing. I am a size S/M, but I don’t feel healthy. I will listen to you. You are wise. I want to feel good each day. Not sluggish.
Sir your speech about fasting for survival is amazing.I totally convinced your concept and I have followed for 2 months. Amazing health benefits and healthy weight loss and my glow was increased incredibly 😊. Thanks a lot for serving society with your health tips.Much appreciated.Still more to go🙏
Amazing! What fasting protocol do you do? Longer fasts or all intermittent?
@@JoshuaRichardson123 Do both.
Thank you for the video. I never made the connection between berries for the bears and fat storage. It all makes sense. When I worked at the hospital, we gave massive amount of insulin to the patients so they can eat. The more insulin the better. I really felt this was a wrong approach yet the medical community couldn’t help these patients to reverse the process. Thanks again.
My spouse and I switched to whole foods five years back - it is a game-changer. Expensive, but worth it.
The point is, it shouldn't be expensive, but it's the reason why huge amount of people who are on low pay eat crap! 🤷🏻♂️
@@kevindarkstar You can eat once a day.
@@TheShumoby Yep.OMAD has done wonders for my health *and* budget. 🙂
It really shouldn’t be that much more expensive. And even if so, your medical bills later in life will be multiple times lower.
Whole foods are not expensive, apart from some meats. Natural vegetables are dirt cheap especially if you can grow your own.
Ready meals and processed foods are expensive, full of chemicals and loaded with sugars without exception. It's that shit that will kill you long term.
Im glad to see there are some doctors watching these videos. They need the education they provide. Especially to get to the root cause and heal not just medicate. Focus on well care not sick care. Do we have a HEALTH care system in this country?
Dr Jamnadas, I watched a lot of your videos and love the way that you explain things. Fasting is fantastic. I started doing it and only eating when I’m hungry. I lost 40 pounds in 3 months. My dr was shocked because my A1C went down and my hypertension, listening to people like you. The dr was shocked. I stopped going to her because she didn’t believe in me. Anyway, keep up the good work and Thank you for helping people like me understand that we should not buy anything with a barcode🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Why we should not buy anything with a bar code? Thanks.
But almist sverything in the supermarket has a bar code on it......butter,tinned beabs,milk,potatoes,broccoli,carrots......at least, here in Ireland they do,and likely most European countrues

I have read and listened to so many information about the detriments of milk. But my mom drank milk all her life. When she passed away, her bones were still so strong and her teeth were completely intact at the age of 77.
Gives new meaning to the expression, "misery guts". Love your gut, people!
Another great instalment; thank you Dr Jamnadas.
Thank you so much for your integrity and honesty!! People are beginning to mistrust their doctor’s these days-seems real care and integrity has been lost!
I already know a lot of good stuff but its still good to revisit the basics and this guy explains foods effect in insulin production and calories storage mode very well. Also explains fiber, hypoglycemia and more. Excellent talk. This guys a rock star. Thanks!
Agreed 👍
You and Dr. Erick Berg are the best Drs that I have found on social media that shares a wealth of truthful and helpful information. Thanks and continue the good work as we need you in our lives. I wish all Drs were so truthful many of them lie to their patients.
Agreed!
Alot of foods also depend on your genes. Milk is fine to drink as an adult you have tribes in Africa who herd cattle for a living and they drink milk daily. It depends on alot of things.
Not milk. Fermented Milk. Almost all graze herding tribes, adults drink the fermented milk, not pure milk.
Those tribes own heritage animals and drink the milk raw or fermented. In western society we drink highly processed milk from genetically modified cows. We're comparing apples and oranges.
@@sportysbusiness all I'm saying is alot of what's actually good for you also depends on your genes and what your people eat. So look where you actually come from and what your people used to eat or still eat. For me milk is fine. As for my indigenous blood and mix of African I try to eat what my people have eaten in the past.
Milk is for babies humans are the only thing on God's green earth that drinks milk as an adult. Every mammal on earth except humans knows when to quit drinking milk and they never drink it again.
@@unknownuser2737 There is alot of other things mammals that we don't do either. So it's not really a good example. However like I we are evolving and so do your genes. But I drink milk everyday and never have an issue I'm healthy as fuck. But it could be cuz alot of my ancestors drank milk.
After a 72 hour fast, and banning cheddar except on weekends, I've managed to drop the vanity pounds that have been bugging me for years, despite being on an obesity linked psychotropic drug. This doctor is the best!
This is the right approach to medicine, not the ever ending pills that some doctors push. For years I have been a fan of Dr. Andrew Weil. A Harvard graduate, and truly believes the body can heal itself through the right foods, supplements and lifestyle. He’s excellent and a “go to” for me when I have a question.
I have heard of Dr Andrew Weild can you please share what supplements and foods he suggests to heal the body from diseases? Especially digestive like silent Gerd, thyroids, and sciatic nerve pain and inflammation? Thankyou so much in advance!

Dr. Jamnadas,
I love your videos!
I'm a type 1 diabetic and this information is everything! Peace God and Appreciation!
What does your breakfast consist of?
Such a relief to finally understand the fundamentals of fat-storage/fat-burning mechanisms. Responsible fasting has improved many parts of my life. Thanks for the knowledge!
If you want to burn up more fat, eat more fat,

Wow that is so awesome. I saw you on a podcast recently, and I just found out you've been in Orlando for over 30 years? I've passed your building by the science center so many times. It's so nice to know that an amazing place like this exists in one of the worst places on earth. You are an absolute gem!
In a nutrition class; the teacher told us to only shop the perimeter because that's where the simple whole foods are. I've found that a small amt of fresh fruit and a good amount of fiber with a non-dairy unsweetened milk and a scoop of natural nut butter works awesome for Me in the morning.
