Don’t you think that it should be parents who teach their children about healthy eating and good food. Why should it be teachers who already have their hands full teaching the curriculum. Honestly! Some people always lay the work and the blame on someone else’s shoulders. Try taking some responsibility yourselves!

Once I cut down my sugars, my hypoglycemia disappeared just like that. What are they teaching doctors in all the years of their medical school???

So unbelievable - right? And yet, we are supposed to revere these people! I have a young relative who became a doctor and this person let themselves get really sick from an ear infection. I mean really sick to the point where this person couldn’t care for their own children. I asked why they didn’t just give themselves an antibiotic? They said they needed another doctor to look in their ear because they couldn’t look into their own ear. Seriously?

We need more naturopaths. Regular doctors just push drugs. I have internal vibrations. The neurologist gave a prescription for a drug that has horrible side effects. Never took them. I finally noticed that consuming sugar and carbs made my nerves worse. The past 2 weeks, I stopped using sugar and cutting back on carbs. My nerves have since subsided tremendously. It's hard though, not able to have a sweet treat. Can't drink alcohol as well, but I can't take the nervousness that eats away inside of me, so refraining as much as possible to rid this demon inside of me.

My breakfast used to be leftover burger king meal and dinner would be a Chinese takeaway with fizzy drink and ice cream as dessert. Not to mention I snacked throughout the day. Didn’t put in weight, so I kept on eating and my stomach just kept on swelling up like a balloon. Went vegan and ate too much sugars and carbs. Thank God for UA-cam and Drs like you who spread their knowledge online. So we can have access to info that can provide us with a start into transforming our lives through our eating choices. Totally agreed! I started developing allergies 10 years after I live in USA, by 38 years old, I can't get prenant, I started doing on some resarches, found some horrible truth on the products that we use/eat daily! I stop eating KFC and Mcdonold's food, but still there are so much chemicals in our food chain..The tomatos don't taste like tomatos 30 years ago...it's hard to eat nutrious food any more. The mother nature helps us human to grow, to be stronger, but human ourselves destructively make our own to get sick and weaker...The billionairs who are on the top of these business have money to eat nutrious food, own private islands, yet they create products/food chains to feed the rest of poors to get sicker...that's how it is in our world now..I REALLY MISS SOME OF THINGS WE DON’t HAVE ANYMORE IN 80s…

So we say ah poor villagers in Ethiopia, but they still know what to eat and what not. Meanwhile we get sick and ruin our children asking them if they think they are really a boy or girl. I have sense changed my normal American diet to eliminate as much sugar, preservatives, and processed foods as possible. I just turned 49, and I feel so much better now. I grew up with a Mexican stepdad, so beans were a staple, and lucky for me, I love all kinds of beans. I have at least one bowl every day for the fiber and other fantastic nutrients. @aafgahfah Рік тому +14

@@cincin4515 Well that’s a good point. I didn’t mean 100 completely different breakfast recipes as such. Whenever I see people talk about healthy breakfast, I see them say “yes eggs, but not too many”, same with avocados and various other foods.
I like a bit of variety; not so much for its own sake but because there are different nutrients out there. for example, eggs are high in protein but low in fibre. When I look at instagram accounts showing healthy meals they look amazing but I often think “Nice, but every day?” tbh I’m just skipping breakfast now, but it just defers the question of what I am actually going to eat, and it does always come back to eggs!
What bugs me about recipe books is that the recipes are always freestanding; they don’t take into account the reality of food shopping. An ideal cookbook for me would take me through like a week or a month or more, reusing leftovers and mixing them with freshly cooked food etc. I would have thought that in the age of apps and automated shopping, that would work very well, but we still throw away mountains of food in my family.

May I suggest substituting a bit of fruit (not juice), small amount, in place of sugar! Once you begin eating fruit and not consuming sugar😊 your body will be satisfied and will adapt and you will be shocked when you realize you don’t need or miss sugar. Start your morning with 8-10 oz. of plain water. Just a suggestion, 1/2 banana, small apple or unsweetened applesauce with your morning routine. Sent with love, hugs and smiles❤😊

Fruit IS sugar. That is the tricky thing. Yes, fruit has some benefits, but fruit will cause the SAME insulin spike if you eat too much.
When we're told to increase our intake of fruit and vegetables, the hope is that we eat more vegetables than fruit.
Oh, and, dried fruit is just a form of candy.

Fruit are natural whole foods. The fruit is good for eating on an empty stomach. The problem comes in our consumption of it. We eat way too much of everything in our Standard American Diet (usually referred to as S.A.D.), My baby sister had to point out that we were loading the children's plate like the were adults. It made me go back to measuring out half, quarter and whole cups of food. I generally eat from the children's or senior's menu at restaurants now.

I'm so glad you mentioned reactive hypoglycemia! I had to give up old fashioned rolled oats (organic). Two hours after eating, I crash, hard. I shake, I feel awful, I've come close to passing out. It's like my body has become possessed. My doctor hasn't been very concerned, so I stopped eating oatmeal, rice cereal etc. Diet modifications and glucose tablets helps.

In a nutrition class; the teacher told us to only shop the perimeter because that's where the simple whole foods are. I've found that a small amt of fresh fruit and a good amount of fiber with a non-dairy unsweetened milk and a scoop of natural nut butter works awesome for Me in the morning.

Very good speaker, concise and easy to understand. I have slipped up recently (the holidays), but getting back on track will be the priority, back to a low carb lifestyle. No rice, potatoes, only berries and avoidance of sugary products, buying low carb bread and buns. Pasta I have in moderation. High protein cereals measured out. Portion control has been helpful.

Thank you for setting the record straight on the cholesterol content of egg yolks. My understanding is that your body converts dietary cholesterol into other things (triglycerides?) and that serum cholesterol was the result of liver activity. I can't tell you how many *medical* *dieticians* have told me not to eat eggs because they're high in cholesterol. I'd read the studies years ago on NIH PubMed that contradicted this. It's so frustrating how much outdated "tribal knowledge" practitioners in the field have.

It would be really good if you could do a video clip series on high spiking insulin foods and low spiking insulin foods. We know that bananas are high spiking but if you eat one small or Bobby banana is half the size of a normal banana .
It's like all vegetables grown below ground are carbs but vegetables grown above ground are low spiking insulin friendly.
This kind of information would be most helpful and beneficial.
