I made a mistake of telling my family I was doing a 24 hour water fast and all I got was how dangerous it is and after that a lot of laughs and making fun of me. Pro tip: don't tell your family you're fasting unless they ask you and keep your answers straightforward instead of trying to explain the benefits. I've noticed some human beings can act rather jealous when you try to look after your health.

Thanks heaps. I jumped straight into a 7 day fast, it was surprisingly easy. Saved money, didn't have to cook, no dishes to wash, absolute bliss! This is going to change my life! I've got a lot of extra kilos, and have some health issues, so I'll be doing a lot more fasting from now on. What a great guy this doctor is!

@@jaanu1263 Yes, only water. I had dinner on a Wednesday, and my first bit of food was Wednesday, following week, around 10 am. And I went swimming a few times, from memory around 3 times, and had plenty of energy for that. My dry eyes got worse the last few days, I used eye drops more than normally. And I got a bit grumpy the last few days. I measured my blood pressure, and it came way down, to a more healthy level. But sadly, now I'm back to square one, drinking too much alcohol again, it's a curse. A real curse. Will have to lift myself up again. Good luck to you, give it a try!

I also have the alcohol/sugar curse and the more I look into it the more I suspect that parasites could be the culprit. Maybe do some symptom diagnosis and research into this if you feel inclined. I am about to start a diotamaceous earth protocol to see if it helps me and my sugar/alcohol addiction and general malaise. God bless!@@sissi8610

It can. I started this stuff back in 2020, and lost 100 Lbs. I have about 40 more to lose, I spend 6-7 hours a week in the gym. I am now in the middle of a 48 hour fast. I also work out during fasting, and I do fine, I lift heavy and hard. You will too. Plus per the Bible if we would have power over the Spirit world, we need to live a fasted lifestyle. You don’t need all that food. What this guy says is so true. God directed you to this because He has plans for you and He wants you alive and able to do the things He has for you. Plus this can save you money too!

Thanks for putting the follow-up to the Fasting for Survival lecture. I did the 7-day water fast from Dec. 13 to 20 and I could have EASILY gone further. I only started eating because a girlfriend wanted to have dinner together. For me, it was the first time I attempted fasting. My initial intention was to do only the 3 days fasting but when the 3 day mark came up, I was feeling so good that I watched the video again and continued. Didn't regret because the following days were like Dr. Jamnadas described: feeling was great. Went to play badminton as I usually play 2½ hours, 3-4 times/week. I was sooo much quicker and more mobile. But, I couldn't keep up for the whole duration of the predetermined time: I had to stop after 90 minutes.
And still today, I'm benefiting from this 7 day fast as I adopted time restricted feeding. My weight went down from 202Lbs to 187Lbs. Pressure and blood glucose levels were optimum all along.
I sure will follow his advice and fast twice a year.
Thank You Gallen Foundation and Dr. Jamnadas.

@Dr. Pradip, I watched with great interest your lecture ”fasting for survival”I've being suffering of diabetes type 1 since I was 9, now I am 44, and probably I was lucky to have grown up in Sardinia, Italy, where the food quality has few rivals, anyway, maybe because of that and for my passion for sports I was always being able to keep my diabetes under control (my HbA1c is 6.2 in average the last 3 years). But lately I noticed that after breakfast I felt intoxicated no matter what I was eating (normally egg or white acid yogurt, whole oatmeal, seasonal fresh fruit and homemade whole wheat sourdough bread with jam without sugar). So 4 days ago I started to skip breakfast and go straight to lunch around 12:30, having a 16~17 h fasting period from dinner. My body is still adapting to it so I finally feel not so tired nor swollen anymore after breakfast but still little weird with my energy level, although my sugar level during the morning is as steady as a rock skipping the injection of rapid insulin in the morning (average between 80 and 125). So far so good then, if not for an acute stomach ache rising after dinner last two nights and lasting all over the night, like if my body has problem with digesting the dinner. Can this be caused by the time restricted feeding? or some lack of minerals like magnesium, potassium? If someone can give me an hint that would be highly appreciated

    From the Bible.
But when you fast, put oil on your head and wash your face, 1so that it will not be obvious to others that you are fasting, but only to your Father, who is unseen; and your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.”
The Bible also says fasting & prayer takes out unbelief.
The purpose of fasting is so much deeper than simply giving up food for a while.
It’s not just an outward practice, but an inner transformation.
    Jesus fasted for forty days.
    Forty days.
It’s hard for me to fathom what His body would have felt like during that time.
I’m imagining His human form felt quite weak.
Yet, He stood strong against the relentless temptation Satan kept shoving in His face.

I did a 30 day water fast, I did not drink much water either. The hardest part is the first three days because your body does not understand what is going on and you will sometimes get a headache. I felt really great. I had to wear a body shaper and sea bands the first time because I felt a bit nauseated and that helped me, Now when I do an extended fast I feel normal. So the more you fast the easier it becomes. I used to spend my day planning out my next meal and now I can go on a trip and not eat at all and it feels so good!

I just did a day fast to grow closer to God and it was awesome. I don’t always feel a spiritual connection or desire from God when I fast, sometimes it’s from my own desire for my health. But I think it is good when you feel drawn to fast for a spiritual breakthrough. Sometimes those are easier than the fasting for health because it’s like God helps you through it. Which, either way He’s always with you!!
Thanks Doctor, I really enjoy your Chanel. God bless.

I can remember my university days where I usually go hungry all day without eating and could only have water to quench my hunger. I felt depressed like any human will feel since this wasn’t intentional. There’s this particular day we had a football encounter and I had not eaten anything solid except for water the day before. Believe me I could not explain how energetic and flexible I was on an empty stomach appreciated by many. I later told my friend what i went through the previous day and he was like I should practice that often and this time around with the will to take on the fasting. Watching this video just reminded me how much health benefits I gained on days I thought was my most horrible days because I couldn’t have something solid to eat lol. I can’t wait to resume this program and make it a habit. Moreover, I’ve got many pounds to loose and this is about the best way I can realize my dream seize😅

You have inspired me so much Doctor!
There hasn't been other UA-cam videos I go back to watch again and again except yours.....
I keep searching for more and more content from "Dr Pradip Jamnadas " every week.... every replay of "The Bittersweet Truth" I learn a new thing..
Your knowledge sharing is very obsessive and curious. You are a master of Wit 🙂
"Dont tell anyone when you fast" to avoid sympathy - is a practically working suggestion 🙂
you inspired me to get resilient in water fasting. Thanks a million for the teacher in you.

I love this guy. I get what he's saying with the water, however he should have done a caveat. You don't need psychogenic polydipsia to drink too much water. People without that have purposefully drank a lot of water and hemodiluted their sodium and have died from seizures. Listen to your body. Drink when you're thirsty. Throw in a bit of salt water when you're doing a 7 day fast. Because if you fast for 7 days and don't take in any salt, and drink a gallon a day you will feel weak and dizzy and run the risk of having issues.

I will get a cookie or split fries. I do a lot of IF. I also cut most sugar out except for a weekly cookie, no sugar drinks. No breads or pastas or very little. Like a subway sandwich every few weeks. I don’t snack anymore or chips etc. i try to avoid seed oils. I have eliminated most processed foods. If it has more than 5 ingredients i skip it. Thank you Dr. Jamnadas, your work has been a becon of light for me. I'm a 67 year old male and I've come to day 12 of my long term fast and I feel good and would keep going till hunger kicks but this not a good time for me right now. This is my second 12 day fast in 6 years and with my first one I took 12 days to go through the refeeding process. Question 1. With a long fast like this 12 day and more (21, 30 days) is it necessary and a must to do equal amount of days refeeding to the length of days fasted? Question 2. Is it possible for one to shorten length of time need for refeeding in a way that does not diminish the benefits gained by the fast? And again, thank you very much!

On the nut milk issue. I sprout my own or use sprouted dry almonds or in a pinch you can simply blend some organic almond butter with water or coconut milk. AND I'm saying this bc my lack of chewing ability won't allow me to eat almonds anymore. I believe its okay to do the occasional nut or veggie juice if you stick to clean ingredients.

I once got sick with a cold and food poisoning at the same time and passed out in the car. The ER told me I just needed to eat. I’ve been very anxious ever since about never exerting myself without having eaten, and I wake up hungry anyway. I still get random bouts of dizziness that no doctors can explain, and I usually attribute it to dehydration or low blood sugar.
I do IF by eating at 10 and at 3 but I cannot imagine exercising without eating some hours before. I am convinced I would pass out. But I may try adding a 36 hour fast once a week.

I was inspired by lectures of Dr. Pradip Jamnadas, MD about benefits of fasting. I am 52 yea old woman, 5'9 hight weight 128-130 lbs. Moderate active: hiking, GYM, pickleball. I am relatively healthy ( have high cholesterol, and diagnosed autoimmune condition(sensitive to gluten, dairy, corn, sugar).) I do not eat wheat, but substitute it with gluten free carbs. Do not drink milk or any dairy, but occasionally eat goat or sheep cheese and drink plant based probiotic products. Most obvious symptoms of autoimmune are swollen fingers on my hands, which I have currently. I decided to start intermittent fasting and 3 day water only fasting, For two weeks I dropped all carbs and sugar ( I allowed a few sugar free dark chocolate), next two weeks I eat only 1 time a day (to the point being full). At that point I dripped 2 lbs. Started water only fasting. 1 day was great-I felt energized, light and mentally positive. 2 day started well, but by 8 pm, I started feeling weak, lightheaded. Did not sleep well. 3 day- woke up nauseated, weak, luck of energy, sleepy. One of my fingers is still swollen. My weight is 122 lbs, but I feel very bad. What did I do wrong? How should I proceed with my 3 day? I expected that day 3 will be the most positive? Please, provide any feedback if you can. Thank you

Lost 10lbs and in my bloodwork after 2 months on this plan, my a1c came down, HDL and LDL went up and triglyrides came down. Feeling good. My skin feels smoother. I am considered skinny with being 5 foot 9 (177cm) and weigh 135 pounds (61kg). I would not fast as a mean to lose weight rather than gain all of the other benefits of reaching ketoses, autophagy and renew stemcells etc. Stay young and healthy and have a clear mind basically. I already sort of do the intermittent fasting by eating only between the hours 12-19 and nothing inbetween. I train many times a week and do ultra running every once in a while... so I guess I do run low on calories on a regular basis. Should I still try to do a, let's say, 5 day fasting? I would have liked that to be one of the questions that Dr. Jamnadas answered. I am glad that he recommends exercise though! So anyone here in my situation that has tried?
