The Guitar the Jimmy Page is playing is a Gibson double neck, it has a 12 string on the top and regular 6 string on the bottom, but other configurations can be had. It is a beautiful sound, no distortion just pure clean sounds! Robert Plant is an amazing singer and always has been as is Jimmy Page an amazing guitarist. Let’s not forget John Bonham (RIP) the drummer and John Paul Jones on bass / keys. This song is absolutely iconic, an absolute masterpiece! However the intro does have the reputation of being one of the ‘forbidden riffs’ in guitar shops mostly down to how badly it is often played 😂. You need to read the lyrics to understand the song, it has plenty of meaning! If you think this song is ‘sassy’ then Whole lotta love will give your expectations a treat 😂
On the original record Jimmy was playing his Telecaster. The head of Gibson once said that Jimmy's Telecaster had sold more Les Pauls than any of his advertising ever did.
@@donepearce I was aware of that, I have a Dragon partscaster I built myself but the artwork is slightly different in that the colours are different and the form of the Dragon is not the same. This song was voted greatest rock song on earth from 1972 until about 2000 or so. Still is in many people's minds, and who could argue? Arguably the best rock band ever.
Zeppelin is extremely diverse. They covered lots on musical genre dealing with rock and did them all well. But mostly they are a mixture of blues and rock.
A band of four virtuosos. Their improvisation skills were sublime. It was said they never played a song the same way twice in live shows. They disbanded when their drummer John Bonham died in 1980. They reunited for a one off show in 2007 and John Bonham's son Jason played drums on this occasion. Check out a song called Kashmir from this show, It was called Celebration day. It shows that nearly 35 years on they'd still got it. Great react as always
Your reaction is exactly why so many people around the world are still turning on to Led Zeppelin on a daily basis. Being born in the mid 1960s and having several close relatives that were a few years older than me, I can honestly say I have been listening to Led Zeppelin as long as I can remember and am so grateful that I have had the opportunity to do so. It is so awesome to see a first time listener become entranced almost immediately. Led Zeppelin, and all the greatest musicians of time all seemed to have had two things in common, they could tell a great tale, and they were a feeling, not a particular feeling, just a feeling. Great reaction. Thanks for sharing. Best wishes in 2024.
Sexy is an excellent word for Zep. Page and Plant especially had charisma just dripping off themselves….such swagger. They owned any stage they were on.
The lead singer, Robert Plant, had the nickname of “The Golden God”, I am 63 years “young” and Robert was my teenaged hormonal fantasy. I had the honor of seeing them twice in one week in NYC in 1977, I was 16. The double neck guitar has twelve strings on top and six on the bottom. Welcome to the Zeppelin rabbit hole ❤️
I saw Led Zeppelin in concert in 1969 and 1970. This is from the 1973 concert at Madison Square Garden. From that concert I recommend “ Since I’ve Been Loving You”. Mind blowing.
Well if you like being surprised, you will LOVE Zeppelin. They are always full of surprises. 😏😉 So varied in their style from one song to another, so versatile, and then in concert, so much improvisation going on…..so you cannot predict what will happen in any given performance.
Arguably the greatest band of all time. Four master musicians coming together to create an irresistible package. They formed in late 1968 and pretty much dominated the seventies until they disbanded in 1980 following the sad death of their drummer, John Bonham, they simply couldn’t continue without him.
Back in "the day" all amateur rock musicians wanted to be Led Zeppelin! Each member was a master at his craft. I was fortunate to see Led Zeppelin live in 1974, Page & Plant in 1994, Robert Plant in 2009, and Robert Plant with Alison Krauss in July 2023! The "Golden God" still has it!
I've heard this called the greatest rock song of all times many many times over the last 4 decades. I've never heard the song that could unseat it, as of yet. Glad you enjoyed it.
Stacy, I just came across your channel for the first time today. I am very impressed with your insights to the music. Your ‘Stairway’ reaction is about the fifth or sixth video of yours I have watched this morning. I have one bit of advice I would like to offer. With very few exceptions, the purest way to be introduced to a song is the way we were originally. By the album cut. In the 70’s, we would buy the album, take it home and listen to it first to last. Each song, in its purest form. No distractions from crowds. Just the music. Usually with our headphones on with the volume cranked up. Then, when we went to the concerts we go the enhanced versions. Even today, I mostly prefer the album cuts over a live version (I did enjoy the Phil Collin’s ’In the air Tonight’ video). Also, check out the softer side of the ‘70’s. Player, ‘Baby come back’. Anything by The Carpenters. Exile, ‘Kiss you all over’. Are just a few. Keep up the great work.
Jimmy Page, David Gilmore and Mark Knopfler. Greatest guitarists of all time. A lot of honorable mentions - Jimi Hendrix, Gary Moore, Stevie Ray Vaughn and many others close behind the top 3. 🙃 Great reaction.
Robert Plant - vocals, Jimmy Paige - lead guitar, John Paul Jones - base, John Bonham - drums and together they make up one of the most iconic bands to ever perform! Led Zeppelin will live forever thanks to people to who willing to stretch their boundaries and listen to music from the past. Kudos to you for doing that.
Hi Stacey, Led Zep was iconic during my college days . Another group to listen to Deep Purple live 1970 Child in Time. I may have been out of my head at the time ,great memories. Thank you.
The Double Neck Guitar is a 6 string/12 String.....Led Zeppelin is the First Full Bloom Sunflower of Rock and Roll...all those that came before them were Spring-Time sprouts (Chuck Berry, Everly Bros, etc...) What made Zeppelin the success they are is their raw integration of all the great blues legends ran through their unabashed youth and vitality mixed with the timely explosion of 60's...Shout out to the Beatles, Stones, Grand Funk Railroad and dozens of others Rock legends who came to bloom in the same era.....beautiful soulful musical era.
By this time Led Zep had made 4 albums and been on world tours. They were one of the biggest bands in the world. They could just be themselves as they had nothing to prove. Led Zep will get your spirit pumping. Check out Pink Floyd, try 'Time', followed by 'The Great Gig in the Sky'. These two tracks have to be heard together. The latter may bring on a few tears its so beautiful. PF were and still are in a genre of their own. PF will bring your spirit back back down and you'll feel so mellow - well most of the time. Both of these bands were immense in the world and worth your time to experience.
As much as live versions are awesome, in this case, I must also highly recommend the studio recorded version all the live takes are based on. It is probably one of the best produced singles ever.
"Stairway To Heaven" is more than THE anthem of the whole rock history, it's THE revelation at all. I gave them my soul when I was sixteen and now they are not going to give it me back.
The joy it brings me seeing each new generation discover music I grew up with will never get old to me. I can’t help but smile watching the reaction, then seeing that light bulb turn on when they realize how great some older music can be. Enjoy your journey!
Led Zepplin, absolute legends. Still remember hearing this the very first time. We absolutely respecred our musicians and they loved us. Miss this time in the world.
IMHO, Zeppelin is the greatest R&R band to ever exist, and likely ever will. There were no weak members, and they always strived for excellence and innovation. They produced across most genres (metal, pop, jazz, country, folk, etc.). This happens to be my favorite rendition of Stairway, but the studio version should be heard for its "cleanness". Nobody commanded a stage like they did. There songbook is just an ongoing collection of awesome. Whole Lotta Love, Thank You, Nobody's Fault But Mine, Gallow's Pole, When The Levee Breaks, All of My Love, and on and on. A few years ago, a reporter asked the lead singer, Robert Plant, "If young people coming up in the business want to emulate Zeppelin, what advice would you give?" His answer? "Dress to the left." Those pants made the ladies lose their sh*t. The GOAT.
Your welcome,@@StaceyRPGReacts. Check out the song SinceI'veBeenLovingYou, from the same concert. As a teen from the late 60s thru early 70s in SoCal, I saw many of the greats, beginning with JimiHendrix in 68 at age 13, and inc Zepp in 74... It was a magical, and unique time, but I'm glad to see young people that can appreciate it like you!
very similar to my parents! they are from California and lived there their whole life till the early 2000s! they speak fondly of the time back then and all the concerts they went to and the legends they saw! my parents are the reason i even created this channel so i could learn about music i have never heard of! thanks for sharing and your comment!@@fredkrissman6527
During the calmer, more mellow beginning of the song, Jimmy Page strummed chords on the 12-string. Then, when they blew the lid off, during the guitar solo, Page switched to the 6-string lead to play that chain of brain-melting riffs. 😊 The fact that Page had two instruments in one meant he could switch seamlessly between sounds.
Growing up in the 60s 70s in LA the music scene was unprecedented and upon reflection I realized how blessed I was to see Led Zeppelin seven times and unable to properly communicate to others until I came down from each experience. Kashmir was the last song I remember seeing them play and it was an encore. Blessed I tell you!
I saw Robert Plant (the lead singer) in concert in the mid 90's and I sat there crying like a baby the entire time. I just couldn't believe I was in his presence. There are many rock gods but he is THE rock god. There is no better singer in the history of the world. You would do yourself a HUGE favor if you dove headfirst into led Zeppelin and listened to their entire catalog.
Heart's cover of this song from the Kennedy Center honors is also wonderful, and worth a reaction. You should definitely check out "Since I've Been Loving You" from the '73 Madison Square Garden concert. And "Whole Lotta Love" from The Royal Albert Hall 1970, plenty of sexiness in that performance.
Very nice reaction. I was lucky enough to see them live twice in a week in 1977. Four exceptional musicians. They have diverse sound from hard rock to blues to folk and even some funk and even reggae, both mostly a rock band. Yes, Greta Van Fleet does have a Led Zeppelin sound and often criticized for it as well. Led Zeppelin does indeed influence bands still today.
@@machutson5493 Tickets were available by mail and I got two which were for the second of six New York shows and a buddy of mine had two extras for the fifth show so I grabbed one. It was nice also because the set lists were slightly different.
I love seeing a first time listener and I love your reaction. LZ is deep and gifted. Looking forward to watching you explore more of their songs and maybe all
No auto tune, no click track, just 3 monster musicians that are masters of their craft and a singer that can sing. Sound reinforcement on stage in the early 70s was not close to what it is today. I'll bet money that Robert Plant could barely hear himself on stage and yet still was able to sing in tune. I read an article one time where a classical music composer dissected this song and basically said it's perfect....it couldn't be improved upon. Growing up in the 70s, this song was everywhere. It played on the radio so much we actually grew tired of hearing it over time, as brilliant as the song is. This was the second or third song I learned to play on the guitar and I'm not alone there. Seeing you hear this for the first time brought me back to when I heard it for the first time.
Great Reaction! Love seeing new generations introduced to the music and bands we grew up with. Next up, "Since ive been loving you-live" (sexy), "Immigrant Song", "Whole Lotta love" (many babies were made to this one), "Ramble on" (shows versatility), just to get started. So much more. You will fall for Robert Plant the singer and recognize the greatness of Jimmy Page on guitar as well as how talented these 4 guys were. Dont Stop! Enjoy!
This is a deep rabbit hole you've started here. I can honestly say they have about 75-80 songs that are totally worth reacting to. Just about anywhere you go from here is going to be fine. They have so many different types of styles in their songs; blues, hard rock, acoustic guitar, and even a country-ish song (Down by the Seaside). From this live concert which is from Madison Square Garden in 1973, there are so many great songs. Here is the track list. Just pick any of them or go in the order of the album. Can't miss. 1] Rock and Roll 2] Celebration Day 3] Black Dog 4] Over the Hills and Far Away 5] Misty Mountain Hop 6] Since I've Been Loving You 7] No Quarter 8] The Song Remains the Same/9] The Rain Song 10] The Ocean 11] Dazed and Confused (be warned. this is a 30 minute song) 12] Stairway to Heaven 13] Moby Dick (big long drum solo) 14] Heartbreaker 15] Whole Lotta Love
The two necked guitar looks cool but also the 12 string upper half is used mainly for the melody while the bottom 6 string is used for the solo Also the way I see them as the sexiest band ever is the singer Robert makes love to the audience while Jimmy makes love to his guitar 🎸
"Since I've Been Loving You" - you will feel the music..one of the greatest blues performances you will ever hear...thanks and I hope you will react to more of Zep...You already have over 3K views in less than 7 hours...that should tell you enough...Zep is the Bomb...look for more content from you going forward..thanks
John Paul Jones came up to me at a Marriott where I was working in Rancho Mirage Ca.I didn’t recognize him but he started talking to me and introduced himself to me. We just chatted about family and small talk. He called me a Horn Dog because I have so many kids. 😂 cool memory.
Every song by this band is a masterpiece in my opinion. If you like this mesmerizing guitar listen to The Rain Song from this same show, or any live performance. The soul comes through in the live music. Great reaction.
If you noticed in the beginning and the very end of the Stairway to heaven song, Jimmy Page was using the upper 12 string neck. And that's because he is using the finger picking technique untilizing the tips of his nails on each of his fingers on his right hand. Using this finger picking technique makes the guitar sound more soft, calm and pretty only twice as much as just using the 6 string neck. The 12 string neck is also used for strumming the chords when not finger picking. Now when it comes to using the lower 6 string neck, it is mainly used in this case for the lead solo riffs like you heard Jimmy go off on in the middle of the song for over 3 minutes or so. It's not to say that a guitar player cannot do any finger picking or strumming on the 6 string neck. A guitar player has the option of using either if she or he chooses to. But more than likely if a guitar player is using a double neck guitar, she or he was planning to use this type of guitar in that manner for this masterpiece of a song that stood the test of time, being that it was written in the early 70's. I hope I explained it for you in such a way to help you understand this much easier. I'm kinda buzzin right now and drinking my Budweiser and playing my own Ovation guitar. Just taking a break right now to watch your show. I been in the business for over 40 years and trust me, your doing a great job. Good luck and keep up the good work in your reaction videos.
Stacy if no one else has told you the origin of the band name I will fill you in. After the band just formed and had not settled on a name they played a concert. A reviewer wrote the music was so HEAVY that it would go over like a Lead Zeppelin (Zeppelin is the last name of the German man who created lighter than air ships[aka blimps]). The band took the name Led Zeppelin thereafter. They are viewed as 1 of the 3 pioneers at the music genre HEAVY METAL (like the metal Lead). The rest is history. Just in case you did not know.
When the song was recorded for the album, back in 1971, Jimmy Page, the guitarist, played a 6 string and separate 12 string guitar. To do it in concert he played this double necked Gibson so he could get the same sound from the album. Check out "Dazed and Confused" and "The Song Remains the Same/The Rain Song" for more epic guitar work.
Another legendary British rock band, they did a concert at the 02 in London in 2007 I think it was, "Celebration Day" ....lots of tracks on YT for your enjoyment. The original drummer John Bonham died quite young and his son Jason drums for the band when they play, it's incredible. Thank you for reviewing, Stacey, much love, Daz, Uk.
If you like guitar solos, especially long ones - my recommendation is to watch Pink Floyd "Comfortably Numb" live from the Pulse show. David Gilmour is a wizard with the guitar.
The question has always been: “What was the origin of Led Zeppelin’s music?” Was it blues, early rock, pop, and soul, or something somewhat more sinister. Check out Aleister Crowley and his influence on Zeppelin, the Stones, and even the Beatles. Stacey, you keep coming back to “sexy,” and you nailed it. And yes, Plant’s pants were purposeful-the question there was whether that look was real. 100 Zeppelin songs. 99% are sex. Try “Whole Lotta Love,” “The Lemon Song,” and . . . Be careful here Stacey-Zeppelin and far too many of these bands may be more than meets the eyes and ears.
I really enjoyed your reaction and learning about the band. Certainly I would feel that they can compete with anything we have now. Too bad about the death of the drummer and their breakup so early in their progress. I was fortunate enough to see them 5 times total, including 3 of the 5 total shows held at Earl's Court in London, England, May 1975. There is a video out of that concert, with Stairway to Heaven, that is an alternate to this one, with 33 million views. This 1975 video is what they played at the time: 3 hours. The 3 shows I saw were on consecutive days, so that was 9 hours of Led Zeppelin total in 3 days!! "Stairway to Heaven" was probably the best place to start a Zep journey. As a long time fan, however, I would recommend a slightly different video, if you really want to appreciate the success of the band. The video I would recommend is "Led Zeppelin - Dazed and Confused (London 1969 Live Good Quality)", currently with 3.9 million views, uploaded at "Metalrocker077". Don't rush, but if you could review that one in a month or two it would be a great experience for you. 😘
I've always felt that this song should be "experienced", not just "listened to". I'm glad you brought up "feeling the music", because that is what they did and I think you should feel it too.
@vicprovost2561 My favourite section of Physical Graffiti is Bron-yr-Aur, Down By The Seaside and Ten Years Gone. Three completely different tracks after the other.
@@vicprovost2561 I love all of Zeppelins various styles but I actually think the more eclectic stuff is longer lasting than the more straightforward rock like Heartbreaker. Actually I hardly play that song anymore. I'd rather listen to The Rain Song. Yes, Zeppelin rules. ✌
@@lyndoncmp5751 I'm the opposite, I know how.much influence Jimmy Page had on guitar with the first 2 albums, that is my favorite Zeppelin era as I saw it unfold in real time, all my guitarist friends sweared by early Zep.
Greatest rock band in the whole world, the gorgeous Robert Plant on vocals who has the best rock voice in the world ,Jimmy Page on lead guitar probably considered one of the best, John "bonzo" Bonham on the drums the best drummer in the world, John Paul Jones on bass and keyboard is super talented, you absolutely need more Zeppelin in your life 😊
The original album versions are usually better because they’re longer and they’re what the artist wanted. Radio stations prefer songs that are 3 to 3 1/2 minutes max so you have radio edits for the single 45 versions. The members of Led Zeppelin never allowed any of their music to be cut as a consequence of that their highest chart success was a number 16
Zeppelin didn't care about singles, but 6 of their albums went to number one in the US, and 8 in the UK. Led Zeppelin were the biggest selling band of the 1970s just on albums alone, as well as breaking concert attendance records.
I never thought anyone or anything could take my attention away from possibly the best song of all time........ until I set eyes on Stacey. Two words to describe the song and Stacey..... Stunning Perfection X
"Stairway to Heaven"....There is nothing better than the studio version of this song. It made the top 5 on year end polls for decades. It was the most requested song in history as of 2005. (Except for Happy Birthday according to Casey Kasem).
Just joined your page. Great reaction. Now you know the Mighty Led Zeppelin. But you must dive in deep to understand how incredible this band was and how their music impacted the world and music industry and other bands. They are undoubtedly the greatest rock band in the world. All four founding members all had incredible impacts in virtually every song they produced. So many incredible sounds from the band, Robert Plant lead singer and front man was incredible with his looks, mannerisms on stage and his voice. Jimmy Page is one of the greatest guitarists ever and the late John Bonham was one of the greatest drummers of all time. John Paul Jones, bass and keyboards was such an important part and sound of the band and was a master of his instruments. He played many instruments. I was lucky enough to see them in July 1977 at the Oakland Coliseum and they were incredible.
Minha Banda número 1. A maior de todos os tempos e essa perfomance de Stariway to Heaven ao vivo, com certeza tem solo de guitarra mais incrível de toda a história do Rock. Beijos de São Paulo - Brasil!
Hi! So glad when you young people really take Led Zeppelin to your hearts. For me, almost 70 years old now, they are and have been since around 1970 the soundtrack of my life. The fact that they are just as good, or even better, live as they where in the studio tells you a lot. The song "Kashmir", live from Celebration day, performed decades later than this one, is really special and I highly recommend it. Thanks for a great reaction. Greetings from Sweden. /Ulf
Great live, for sure, goose bump inducing at times You really need to hear the studio original, it has the perfect mix and is the version everyone is familiar with and will be heard forever. Please do studio first if you can, it will be a better experience and musical education if you do. Enjoy! 🎵🎸🎤🎹🎶
Nice reaction... everyone should sit down and listen to this song, as you did. I cracked up when you said "Those are the tightest pants I've ever seen"! You should check out many many more of their songs. One of my absolute favorites is "Ten Years Gone".
The guitar is effectively two guitars in one, each part is different in the number of strings. One neck has six strings and the other has twelve strings!
Stairway To Heaven There's a lady who's sure all that glitters is gold And she's buying a stairway to Heaven When she gets there she knows, if the stores are all closed With a word she can get what she came for Ooh, ooh, and she's buying a stairway to Heaven There's a sign on the wall, but she wants to be sure 'Cause you know sometimes words have two meanings In a tree by the brook, there's a songbird who sings Sometimes all of our thoughts are misgiven Ooh, it makes me wonder Ooh, makes me wonder There's a feeling I get when I look to the West And my spirit is crying for leaving In my thoughts I have seen rings of smoke through the trees And the voices of those who stand looking Ooh, it makes me wonder Ooh, really makes me wonder And it's whispered that soon if we all call the tune Then the piper will lead us to reason And a new day will dawn for those who stand long And the forests will echo with laughter Oh-oh-oh-oh-whoa If there's a bustle in your hedgerow, don't be alarmed now It's just a spring clean for the May queen Yes, there are two paths you can go by, but in the long run There's still time to change the road you're on And it makes me wonder Ohh, whoa Your head is humming, and it won't go, in case you don't know The piper's calling you to join him Dear lady, can you hear the wind blow? And did you know Your stairway lies on the whispering wind? And as we wind on down the road Our shadows taller than our soul There walks a lady we all know Who shines white light and wants to show How everything still turns to gold And if you listen very hard The tune will come to you at last When all are one, and one is all To be a rock and not to roll And she's buying a stairway to Heaven Composers: Jimmy Page / Robert Anthony Plant
ok Stacey, you have to go down the Led Zeppelin rabbit hole: All my love, Since I've been loving you, Dazed and confused, Rock and Roll, Immigrant song, Whole lotta love, and my favourite "Kashmir", among many more
This iconic song has pages and pages devoted to it as people try and decipher the meaning. Of all ther live performances I've never thought this was one of the better ones.
Robert Plant was a very sexual singer. He dressed the part, to be sure, but a lot was in those gestures you and many others mention. He does use his hands expressively. Plant also smiled a lot at a time when many singers were trying to be too cool. It looked like he was having fun. Those smiles, sometimes almost coy, often targeted ladies in the audience. He most definitely knew he had sex appeal and used it. You need a lot of self-confidence to do what he did and there was never any shortage of that, as you see by those jeans. Plant was also quite chatty between songs, comments made in the moment that helped make every concert unique to the night. I saw one 1970s band that had their onstage banters scripted to the last word. In old age Plant has not tried to be Kiss and remain locked to a past image. The hair is still long, It is no longer a mane but worn in an age appropriate pony tail. There is a beard that does not hide the deep lines in his face. The shirt is now done up and the trousers a much more comfortable fit. The onstage chat remains the same or maybe more. He likes to set the scene for the songs. The voice no longer has the full range of the 20 something but still distinctly Plant in tone. His song choices fit the reality of where his voice is. He has in recent years made music with bluegrass queen Alison Krauss. Plant is ageing gracefully
That, Milady, is a Gibson EDS 1275 guitar. The top neck is a 12 string, with 6 regular guitar strings and 6 higher octave strings and the lower neck is a regular 6 string guitar. The twelve string gives a very distinctive sound. I do own one myself. Its definitely a conversation starter wherever i carry it. As always Led Zeppelin are the most Iconic rock bands in the History of music. 👍👍👍

Led Zepplin was such an influence on the genre of Rock n Roll, that most bands coming out of the 1970's used them as a foundational band. Zepplin was the biggest name in the 1970's and I grew up listening to them.

Yep, This girl go blew away with that hahaha
Every song from this concert. Lol. But since I've been loving you is an highlight.
Zeppelin is extremely diverse. They covered lots on musical genre dealing with rock and did them all well. But mostly they are a mixture of blues and rock.
Yes , I agree with that!! Also When the Levee Breaks!!
@@stephenmoncrieff2056a hard driving blues song, one of my favorites!
Led Zeppelin "Kashmir" Live from Celebration Day Concert. It was their last live performance and 20 million people tried to get tickets.
A band of four virtuosos. Their improvisation skills were sublime. It was said they never played a song the same way twice in live shows.
They disbanded when their drummer John Bonham died in 1980.
They reunited for a one off show in 2007 and John Bonham's son Jason played drums on this occasion.
Check out a song called Kashmir from this show,
It was called Celebration day.
It shows that nearly 35 years on they'd still got it.
Great react as always
I second every word from this comment. And yes, Kashmir on Celebration day is something extraordinary.
Gotta listen to Kashmir. If you like "meat" then it is meaty.
Led Zeppelin “since I’ve been loving you “ live Madison Square Garden 1973 will knock your socks off
Your reaction is exactly why so many people around the world are still turning on to Led Zeppelin on a daily basis.
Oh girl, Led Zeppelin is the gods of rock. An incredible catalog of music. Definitely check them out.
Haha, isn't there a TV sitcom called "The Golden Girls" - were they also infatuated with the Golden God?
I'm 35 and Robert Plant is my hormonal middle aged fantasy, lol.
At 17 when my hair was half way down my back I went and got a permanent to attempt to have Plants hair, as mine was perfectly flat and straight
I saw Led Zeppelin in concert in 1969 and 1970. This is from the 1973 concert at Madison Square Garden. From that concert I recommend “ Since I’ve Been Loving You”. Mind blowing.
I saw them on tour in Atlanta a few days before FLOYD came to town. ZEPPELIN didn't equal FLOYD on that occasion unfortunately.
"The guitar is beautiful. Pretty chill, relaxing." Please remain seated and keep your hands inside the ride at all times.
Well if you like being surprised, you will LOVE Zeppelin. They are always full of surprises. 😏😉
So varied in their style from one song to another, so versatile, and then in concert, so much improvisation going on…..so you cannot predict what will happen in any given performance.
This.
Led Zeppelin has a long list of brilliant songs - possibly the greatest band of all. I know youll enjoy future reactions!
This song will live forever as will Led Zeppelin....Greatest ever!!
Arguably the greatest band of all time. Four master musicians coming together to create an irresistible package. They formed in late 1968 and pretty much dominated the seventies until they disbanded in 1980 following the sad death of their drummer, John Bonham, they simply couldn’t continue without him.
Dear Lady
I am a 64 german and I used to dance on this music in the german streets 😎😎😍😍 and is was good 😊😊
Back in "the day" all amateur rock musicians wanted to be Led Zeppelin!
Great reaction.
I was there at Madison Square Garden in 1973 . Lots of weed and very loud.
You're blessed!
Jimmy looked faded
It is probably one of the best produced singles ever.
.... although Stairway To Heaven was never a single. It was only ever a track on the 4th album.
Hear hear!
not true, there are several singles that have sold at auction@@lyndoncmp5751
Live has heart
The studio is where the art was initially concluded
100% agreed
100% agree. I love liver versions over studio virtually all of the time, but on this occasion, you have to listen to the studio version
Thank you so much!! I’m enjoying it so much so far.I love discovering these timeless bands! Better later than never right? 🫶🏻
Led Zepplin, absolute legends. Still remember hearing this the very first time. We absolutely respecred our musicians and they loved us. Miss this time in the world.
No Quarter which means give no mercy is Led Zeppelin taking us down a very different path that leaves your mind spinning 😮
The GOAT.
It's a double necked guitar, one has 6 & the other has 12 strings, and yes, he uses both during the course of the song...
Fine reaction so far Stacey!
Thanks so much!!
Yes, Jimmy's solos ARE sexy! ❤
During the calmer, more mellow beginning of the song, Jimmy Page strummed chords on the 12-string.
Then, when they blew the lid off, during the guitar solo, Page switched to the 6-string lead to play that chain of brain-melting riffs. 😊
The fact that Page had two instruments in one meant he could switch seamlessly between sounds.
Your channel is going to blow up doing Zeppelin reactions. Keep going!
That would be me if I were ever to get a chance to see him perform.
I have loved Jimmy Page since I was 13. No one can play the guitar like him. Those four men came together, and made pure magic.
Twice in a week, what a great opportunity. Envy you.
@@machutson5493 Tickets were available by mail and I got two which were for the second of six New York shows and a buddy of mine had two extras for the fifth show so I grabbed one. It was nice also because the set lists were slightly different.
Greatest rock band ever. It’s so cool seeing young people discovering the band.
Dont Stop! Enjoy!
One of those songs that if you hear it once, you just can't unhear it!!!
Great reaction, Stacey! You'll find lots of great music if you continue looking at 'older' rock and roll bands. Led Zeppelin is one of the best.
Can't miss.
1] Rock and Roll
2] Celebration Day
3] Black Dog
4] Over the Hills and Far Away
5] Misty Mountain Hop
6] Since I've Been Loving You
7] No Quarter
8] The Song Remains the Same/9] The Rain Song
10] The Ocean
11] Dazed and Confused (be warned. this is a 30 minute song)
12] Stairway to Heaven
13] Moby Dick (big long drum solo)
14] Heartbreaker
15] Whole Lotta Love
After hearing it one hundred more times you will still have the same response. Absolutely one of the best songs.
Never have 4 people with more talent been in the same band. Each of of them are absolutely the there is at their respective instruments.
It's like watching your grandpa and friends playing... they are all in 70's..80's now
YES, I just turned 76 myself. Just happy I found these young folks turned on.
THE GOAT!!! Jimmy is just so.......I cannot even explain. He DOES make love to his guitar. 🔥
The two necked guitar looks cool but also the 12 string upper half is used mainly for the melody while the bottom 6 string is used for the solo
Also the way I see them as the sexiest band ever is the singer Robert makes love to the audience while Jimmy makes love to his guitar 🎸
I saw them live in Dallas three times, and they were all amazing shows. There was an awful lot of some kind of smoke 😎😎 in the air...
Please listen to the Studio version too. You’ll be Amazed. It’s known as one of the Best Rock songs of All Time❤️👍🏻👏🏻🎼🎸
Stacy if no one else has told you the origin of the band name I will fill you in.
Agreed - ‘Kashmir’ from that 2007 gig is breathtaking!
If you like guitar solos, especially long ones - my recommendation is to watch Pink Floyd "Comfortably Numb" live from the Pulse show. David Gilmour is a wizard with the guitar.
Absolutely a must , Comfortably Numb live Pulse Concert!
Yes yes yes!
Totally agree. The guitar solo is intensely euphoric and one of the greatest ever recorded.
First thing I thought of, when she said this was a long guitar solo!
Absolutely what I thought too. And for the overall Floyd music experience, also listen to "Wish you were here" and "Shine on you crazy diamond".
I seen this concert in Chicago '72 and again in '73, absolutely the best group i've been fortunate enough to see.
Best musicians
Best band
Perfect 122 songs
Best song ever Stairway to Heaven
The Firm - "Satisfaction Guaranteed"

I've always felt that this song should be "experienced", not just "listened to". I'm glad you brought up "feeling the music", because that is what they did and I think you should feel it too.
500 years from now people will be still in awe of this song it's divine its own regard🐐
Greatest band to ever grace the planet!!
Stairway To Heaven certainly is one of the big rock classics, but Kashmir is probably my favorite Led Zeppelin song.
Their masterpiece is the album “Physical Graffiti “ it’s probably top 5 of all time for many
Totally agree for disc 1, not as much for disc 2. My favorite is Led Zeppelin 4, one absolutely perfect disc.
@vicprovost2561
My favourite section of Physical Graffiti is Bron-yr-Aur, Down By The Seaside and Ten Years Gone. Three completely different tracks after the other.
@@lyndoncmp5751 I was there at the beginning so Dazed and Confused, Heartbreaker and Since I've Been Loving You is more my style. Zeppelin rules!
@@vicprovost2561
I love all of Zeppelins various styles but I actually think the more eclectic stuff is longer lasting than the more straightforward rock like Heartbreaker.
Zeppelin is the greatest band ever.Four virtuosos at their craft. Please dive deep into Zeppelin.🥁☮☘
Greatest rock band in the whole world, the gorgeous Robert Plant on vocals who has the best rock voice in the world ,Jimmy Page on lead guitar probably considered one of the best, John "bonzo" Bonham on the drums the best drummer in the world, John Paul Jones on bass and keyboard is super talented, you absolutely need more Zeppelin in your life 😊
Number one selling group of the 70s. They are the prototype for every rock band for the next 30 years.
Stunning
Perfection
X
The 12 string give a very nice bright sound and 6 is to jam!
Led Zeppelin was a super group all members were masters of their craft
One of the greatest bands to come out of the UK.
The greatest to come out of anywhere.
British bands tend to rock
So many great uk bands in late 60s and 70s. Floyd and Led Zeppelin 2 of them. Yes, Genesis, Stones, Move, Free etc
If you're a great band out of the UK you are up against some pretty stiff competition.
Stairway To Heaven
There's a lady who's sure all that glitters is gold
And she's buying a stairway to Heaven
When she gets there she knows, if the stores are all closed
With a word she can get what she came for
Ooh, ooh, and she's buying a stairway to Heaven
There's a sign on the wall, but she wants to be sure
'Cause you know sometimes words have two meanings
In a tree by the brook, there's a songbird who sings
Sometimes all of our thoughts are misgiven
Ooh, it makes me wonder
Ooh, makes me wonder
There's a feeling I get when I look to the West
And my spirit is crying for leaving
In my thoughts I have seen rings of smoke through the trees
And the voices of those who stand looking
Ooh, it makes me wonder
Ooh, really makes me wonder
And it's whispered that soon if we all call the tune
Then the piper will lead us to reason
And a new day will dawn for those who stand long
And the forests will echo with laughter
Oh-oh-oh-oh-whoa
If there's a bustle in your hedgerow, don't be alarmed now
It's just a spring clean for the May queen
Yes, there are two paths you can go by, but in the long run
There's still time to change the road you're on
And it makes me wonder
Ohh, whoa
Your head is humming, and it won't go, in case you don't know
The piper's calling you to join him
Dear lady, can you hear the wind blow? And did you know
Your stairway lies on the whispering wind?
And as we wind on down the road
Our shadows taller than our soul
There walks a lady we all know
Who shines white light and wants to show
How everything still turns to gold
And if you listen very hard
The tune will come to you at last
When all are one, and one is all
To be a rock and not to roll
And she's buying a stairway to Heaven
Composers: Jimmy Page / Robert Anthony Plant
One of the best live solos ever.
Tbh at some parts my toe nails were rolling up during that solo. No offense Jimmy, but this was not your best 🙈
ok Stacey, you have to go down the Led Zeppelin rabbit hole: All my love, Since I've been loving you, Dazed and confused, Rock and Roll, Immigrant song, Whole lotta love, and my favourite "Kashmir", among many more
you should start with their first album and react to every song all the way through it's a masterpiece every one of their albums are masterpieces
If you watch Heart's rendition of Stairway at the Kennedy Centre, you can
see the bandmembers as they are today (except the drummer),his son takes his place.
