  • What started out as trying to make a few dollars and being a good neighbour, turned into me buying a snowblower... that I don't have money to fix.
    If you want to see a poorly edited, early release video of my custom burn chamber head... here is the link • Video

    Enjoyed the video. Good to see a humble, honest small engine repair guy, enjoying his spare time fixing his neighbours blower, only to wind up acquiring said blower, and taking on the responsibility to clearing snow for the entire neighbourhood! You are a good man Charlie Brown.

    I'm not very interested in snowblowers but I stuck around and watched for the stats. And the bonus footage. I'm glad I did because it became obvious what your first tshirt, hat, and mug design should be once you get famous and start selling merch. "I probably have that kicking around somewhere" with a smokey diesel heater in the background. Love it !

      That's bad. hope it healed well and the treatment didn't cost you an arm and a leg ♿
      Maybe put a patreon link right underneath your next videos. Just so, that everybody sees it without cllicking on "show more".
      A lot have tough times these days, but maybe some not so much.

      @@werner.x I was actually really lucky... I ended up at a sports medicine clinic on recommendation from a friend ... The doctors were ready to put me in a cast for 6 weeks, and the sports medicine clinic told me to take my splint off, start doing range of motion exercises and had me walking on it in less than two weeks. *doing light exercises, no running jumping etc.
      I had been doing exercises at home and had my last appointment on Dec 21st, I was supposed to start physiotherapy ... I couldn't afford fuel to get to my appointments, and to be honest I started giving up a little. I'm in Canada so it didn't cost me anything, fortunately.
      I may take your advice and move my patreon link to a more visible spot.

    I reckon you should put it aside and see if the part's are cheaper in the summer and with the belts and pulleys you could take measurements and get them China on Amazon etc a lot cheaper and next winter just use a shovel until your neighbour gets a new one

      @@colinhamer6506 Totally... there are really a few companies making most things, and it is then rebranded. I get drive belts for $13-17 and see the same ones that say TORO on them for $45 or more. I have seen $17 belts sell for over $100, and people don't even question it.

    • @loweredexpectations4927
      @loweredexpectations4927  Рік тому +1

      @@werner.x No... Calgary doesn't get much snow... Compared to most of Canada. I grew up on the east coast and you were guaranteed to have many large snowfalls. Snowblowers are fairly rare here.... I'm probably the only snowblower owner on my block... other than my neighbour across the alley... I think he just got an electric one.
      It is more common here for people to use brooms or back pack blowers to clear snow, as it is generally not deep or dense. Not good snowball / snowman making snow.

    Now that you have a snow-blower to play with, are we going to make it run on waste oil or cow farts?

      LOL... I got some mesh in the mail today, for real... actually looked at it this time.
      My diesel heater runs on oil.... so... My gas blower should probably run on diesel ? I love the idea of cow farts, but I don't' have a steady supply.

    Gas spilling and still using a drill which produces sparks?

    • @loweredexpectations4927
      @loweredexpectations4927  6 місяців тому

      Haha... Absolutely. I'm not terribly nervous of a fire starting in the first place, and if it does start, I'm not going to scream like a little girl and call for help.... I'll just deal with it. I have had to deal with gas fires in the past. Not panicking is key.
      On the flip side, my father ended up with burns all over his body and scarred for the rest of his life when fumes inside of a jetski hull ignited because of an electric impact. He ended up jumping in a puddle to put the fire out... luckily it had rained recently and the dirt parking lot had lots of puddles.
      No one else around was of any assistance, so it's a good thing he didn't wait for help.
