I know this is an old video and I hope you're still active on this thread. but do you happen to know what size belt these machines take for the auger drive? I cant seem to figure it out online. I have the same machine and I've Shredded 3 belts this season. all 35 1/2" they seem to be too tight and dont diss-engage off the drive shaft. I'm pretty certain its supposed to be 35 1/2" belt but after a while of use I've also had the belts hop off the lower pully. So at first they seem too tight, running the auger full time and eventually (after 30 minutes of snowblowing) they seem to be stretching out and hopping off the pully... I'm almost ready to sell this machine.. lol this is only my 2nd season with it and its been really taking me for a run around this year.
thank you, i did manage to get the front part separated by watching videos, cant figure out how the impeller shaft comes off to remove the impeller, im not mechanical at all haha. at least i can fit the front part with the auger in my car to take it to a repair place and have them put the new impeller in for me.@@pattayperformance
Typical on higher end MTDs they have a shoulder bushing or post that wears in the area of rotational force causing the arm to tilt or cock and not run true and parallel to the belt. Look at the IPL to see how the arm is held on position. Also the hole in the arm gets wallowed out causing wobbling and needs to be replaced or welded up and re-drilled back to round.
30 degrees out...race against the limited sunlight, 1-6 snowblowers I needed to work on that day. I’m partially color blind...so black hardware on black driveway is just a recipe for a good time 🤣
Nice repair Jason. On the impeller up grade, what did you use for that material and how thick is it? Hope mrs Pattay is feeling better. I like the black wheels better also. Should bring some nice coin! 🇺🇸👍 Roger
I use mud flaps from a semi tractor. Thickness not sure but I can measure for you! It was just too much yellow for me! She is doing better in and out of the doctors all week. Thank you for asking 🇺🇸🤙🏻🔧🦅
If you ask me it needs a pair of drag slicks. And wheelie bars. And duel exhaust ... Make it go faster... Yep pull oil pan and check oil pump .. see I knew you were going for drag slicks... Then put big block no go for the Mazda rotary engine that way it will wind up to 7500000 R.P.M. now that would be fun. How's the clutch ? Posi track working ... Forgot the additive G.M. 12 bolt. Oh sorry wrong video..lol. Got to love it when someone works on something and they don't have a clue what they are doing... To be honest with you the wheel shafts should use never seize greese don't work as good went through this once before .. Doing a great job on it myself got old 1970 John Deere 7.h.p. 26"cut runs great will never get rid of it... These new ones are pure junks...got mid '80's to '90's mid as well and I hate the dead man controls like you need 6 arms to control the shit one on shifter, the other on chute, then holding down drive and other on auger and other in pocket getting smoke and last hand for beer I hope you got 40 of Jack Daniel's handy for the job on that crap...
😂😂😂😂 Hey if you can hot rod cars...you can work on this! I’m torn between Anti-Seize and grease! Mrs. HATES anti-seize bc sometimes I get it everywhere! If you service your machine every season like you are suppose too...wheels will come right off! I like Grey Goose...couple of good times but bad stories attached to JD ! Thanks for the view and comment, hopefully you subscribed to my channel 🤙🏻🇺🇸🔧🦅
That's funny you said that, I pray to ST Anthony also when I loose things 👍
It’s destiny since it’s my middle name! Cursed🤣
They are yellow because it means caution
you aren't lying!
Why the tires going backwards???
Just to roll around 😂
Great job , too bad the machine is so poorly built . Does it have any grease fittings ?

Model and serial number for your machine
On the impeller are those Shear bolts or regular bolts
Sheer
@@pattayperformance thanks
wishing there was a video showing how to get the impeller off to replace it!
You are going to have to split the machine in half.

Just curious to know what kind of grease you use, if there is one in particular that’s better for cold weather use, and where you buy it.
I use 00 grease
I use chassis grease. Same grease I use on the suspension for cars and trucks.
Great question! 🦅🔧🤙🏻🇺🇸
Looks Good !!!
Thank you! Too much yellow for me! 🤙🏻🇺🇸🔧🦅
