    Actual Description: In this video, I use a Vevor Anemometer and CO meter to see if my porting job did any good... the results were shocking !
    NOTE: It should be noted that a properly working diesel heater (tuned properly and with no issues) will not produce much CO... I am purposely running my heater rich (at high elevation in normal mode) so that I can determine if the ported housing will be an improvement.
    If you have a heater that is working well, and you introduce more air, it will almost certainly make it work worse, and possibly cause it to produce more CO.

      I may try to make videos of the lawnmower stuff, but I am a 100% mobile service and have to take people's privacy into account. Editing can also be a challenge, when I am working 12-14 hour days during the summer.
      If I can get a renter and build a safety net, that would allow me to relax a little and spend time doing things that may not be as profitable, like making videos. I know that those videos could do well, If done properly, but it is not guaranteed.

      @@billparker8954 I quite honestly didn't want to publish this video (at this time) and wanted to focus on my self cleaning heater, but that didn't work out for a bunch of reasons. Although this video featured Vevor products, it really wasn't about the products, and even in the title, Vevor is an afterthought. This video was about checking the air flow and CO and just happened to use Vevor products, and the test wouldn't have gotten done at all, if I wasn't obliged to do it.
      I am currently in a battle to get a mortgage and may be declined and homeless in the next few weeks, so yes, keeping a roof over my head is a real struggle. The only way I can currently justify making any videos, is if I need to make them... This video, and a plasma cutter video I will be releasing, are a week behind schedule, and the only reason they are getting done at all, is because I told Vevor they would be done, and I try to stick to my commitments.
      I have been very reckless with my commitment to making YT videos, as it costs me money to keep the channel alive. I use money from my summer job to fun my projects. This winter has been the most promising with one month, January, where my channel ( YT, Vevor and Patreon) made more money, than I spent making videos. All this to say, Vevor is some justification to keep making videos, but all in all, I'm not sure how long I can justify keeping it up, and as you may have noticed... videos have become less frequent.
      I'm not looking for sympathy, I just like to explain my side of things. The only reason this video got made, and it wasn't weeks or months until another video, is because weeks ago, I told Vevor the videos would get made, if they sent me the products.

      @@loweredexpectations4927Hi Joel, I apologize. I should keep my mouth shut sometimes, especially when I'm cranky, and base a stupid comment on the title, and not content that I haven't even viewed yet. I watch your content all the time, and so do people that happen to be in my living room. I hear them say "He seems pretty cool", "Hey, he's a good genuine guy". They love you for the same reasons I do.
      You have the mind of an engineer, and you deep dive and follow up. I've watched many videos of people burning alternate fuels over the years, and it's "Yea! It works!" without dealing with the coked up aftermath.
      It sucks dealing with divorce (me too) and it's gonna be a hard road, even harder than producing quality YT content like you do. You have character and a work ethic, but you also need a very good lawyer. Watch out for copy machine lawyers that do a quick calc based on your financial worth and press print. They can cause problems that you will have deal with for decades. Find a fighter that is willing to go to court and actually challenge a bad deal for you.

    Great video 🙂 Cats always take precedence over what we are actually trying to do as well 🤣
    As another note. I had previously said I was fairly underwhelmed by the heat and airflow out of the heater I got. I ended up getting another heater from a different brand, and the airflow and heat output is WAY more. I think the "5-8kw" I got was actually a 2kw running full tilt. The "1-8kw" I got I think is actually a 5kw (maybe it is the larger body 8kw but I haven't taken it apart yet), that has around twice the airflow and heat output. The wild wild west of numbers from the China manufacturers eh. I am very impressed by the second heater that has the better ECU and controller, now that I have learned more about these heaters too.
    Ooo I am very interested in the plasma cutter as well! The couple times I have used one made me realize just how freaking awesome they can be!
    Damn, sorry to hear about the negative situation you are going through. Good luck with everything going on!

    • @loweredexpectations4927
      @loweredexpectations4927  4 місяці тому +1

      Haha... yes, cats always matter more than whatever else is happening.
      That's interesting about your heater. Haven't you ever calculated the fuel flow ? 1L is about 10 KW, so the math is fairly easy if you work backwards from there. I have only ever really seen 3 different heater styles, though I know there are more. The small 2kw, the 5kw that is sometimes called an 8, and the larger bodied unit ... and it has a more aggressive fan, that is for sure.
      I owned a plasma cutter for a few weeks, many years ago, and someone walked away with it, haha... I still have the safety glasses and sold the case cor $60... I'm good at investing. It will be nice to have an affordable one that I am not worried about.
      I am hopeful about my situation and if things go well, It could be better than ever, in a year or so.

    • @reubenk7331
      @reubenk7331 4 місяці тому

      @@loweredexpectations4927 I never calculated fuel flow with that model, because I ended up getting refunded due to a squealing fan at low speeds. It was still covered under Amazon so I just got a refund.
      I believe my new unit is either a 5 or 8, but I haven't calculated anything yet. I can just say I am very happy with the new unit I got.
      That really sucks about the plasma cutter growing feet...
      Good luck in everything you continue to work towards, and well be here whenever you come back.

    By leaving the inlet nut off or cutting out the inlet screen you gain @ 10% airflow and a 5% efficiency gain. It would be nice to know the actual efficiency from calculating the Delta T, by using the temperatures and airflow, before and after porting? With your caveman controller, you mess up the CO to very rich to begin with and then lower the CO by porting. As your only rpm control on the motor is voltage and back pressure, you need to take the two different rpms, between the standard blower assemble and your ported blower assemble into consideration as this is changing your amount of fuel burned. As far as heat per fuel burned, my WAG is the Vevor with Alpine fuel control matches or exceeds the efficiency of your ported blower. We measure our CO at 6 inches and have 18ppm on each of 2 Vevor Alpine at the highest setting. If you are burning more fuel, more efficiently than a Vevor Alpine you may have created a 5kW heater?

    • @loweredexpectations4927
      @loweredexpectations4927  3 місяці тому

      I have removed the screen from one of my nuts and have noticed a huge temperature difference.
      Mapping and calculating all of the changes is honestly a little over my head, and would require a lot of data tracking. As the fan speed changes, the air flow over the exchanger and the combustion air changes. A decrease in heat can be because if more heat being carried away, but also the same amount of heat is probably not being made due to the mixture change / cooling effect from combustion air.
      What I basically did in this test was run the heater rich due to my elevation, and then calculated it after porting. I am at about 4500 feet, and my heater cuts fuel (in half I think) at 210C to keep things under control... so the results would be more drastic IF I were to use a different control system, for sure.
      Yes... my heater, in alpine mode is only around 12-18 ppm as well. This whole idea / test could be expanded on for sure... and it would be interesting to see how much fuel it could handle with the porting.

      @@KingofallDiffs Thanks ! I appreciate that. I have considered doing this, and I do have footage from last year, because I thought I may publish videos. There are a few tricky parts to this... and I know others have done it... like the lawn cutting guys...
      My services are 100% mobile, so I do my service work at the customer's house. This means I have to be careful when filming. I am also a one man show, so setting up shots, talking to the camera, dealing with camera gear is a chore. To top it all off, summer is my busy time, and I need to be working 12-14 hour days to bring in what I can, while the summer lasts.
      When you film in a very purposeful way, I'm going to do this thing and get this shot, it tends to be a bunch of 40 second to 2 minute clips... If you are filming with the idea that something interesting might happen, you often end up with 10 hours of footage from every day. Best case scenario, it takes several hours to put together a video that has been shot well... if it goes a little wrong, it can easily take a few days to edit.

      Oh wow !! ... I probably would have asked some stuff two weeks ago, if I would have realized, haha. I'm doing the final mudding (I hope) now.
      Interestingly... some of the drywall that was already installed in the basement, when we moved in, was pre covered in wallpaper. Yes, pre covered, and I know this as it actually wraps around the edges... whoever "installed it" decided to only use 7-8 screws per sheet, so that they wouldn't have visible screws.
      Whoever did renovations before me did some special work... I'm not the best, but they were really special.
      PS. After doing it a few times in my life, I consider drywalling to be an art form.

    Sorry hear about your brake up that always sucks even without the money troubles it can make, I found the video interesting I'm not shocked that the CO level drop, it would lean the fuel mix out it seems like these heaters run just bit rich out of the box and even more so when add intake and exhaust. CO from incomplete combustion this for sure going happen if fuel air mix is has too much fuel, but can still happen even if fuel mix not rich or even if a bit lean but less likely if lean. I buy a 5Kw heater using one your links from black Friday, it making about 20-50 ppm CO there still hint of exhaust smell. It is setup with no intake tube and only one soft 90 bend in the exhaust tube that come with it, does have altitude compensation, I not looked too hard but I not sure cal menu to adjust things but really it not too bad as is, but I have wonder if running it a bit leaner would clean up the exhaust a bit more, I not full installed this yet so there likely be some more bends in the exhaust and if put on intake tube I feel it like exhaust will be even more dirty, I have plan to try test this some. I'm very much looking for your video of the cutter, I'm looking at there 3-1 no touch TC-520 cutter welder combo so you may want throw a link up for that when your doing your video. I also used one your links to buy an ultrasonic I will be setting that up this or next weekend I have carbs need to be clean and rebuild. Best of luck with everything.

      I am quite fortunate in that it hasn't been a messy separation. I have heard a lot of horror stories.
      I'm not surprised about the drop in CO either... If it were already really low, the extra air could potentially be a bad thing, and I have seen too much air actually cool the burn, and cause more CO.
      I don't think 50ppm is crazy high... it may never cause an issue, but it is more than I would expect from a "properly tuned" heater. If you can get more air in there, it should absolutely help with the CO.... If you are already not running a tube, you can just use a hack saw and some drill bits (if you don't have any porting tools) and chop out a hole... it doesn't have to be the exact same as mine... I replacement fan is cheap if it all goes terribly wrong, haha. More exhaust bends will increase CO but a strait 2-3 foot section won't have much effect.
      Wow... you have a whole fleet of Vevor stuff ! Soon you can start your own Vevor channel, haha. I will try to toss a link up for the 3-1 in a following comment, for ya.

    Why anyone would want to get married is beyond me! The terms and conditions of a legally binding marriage contract always favours the female and will financially ruin the male. If you were a business man you would never enter a business with those terms and conditions and yet people do it with a marriage contract!! I wish you well and I hope you get some lucky breaks in the future to turn your life around.

You don't have time to d1ck around, and you don't want to end up in your middle ages where the only available women have high body counts and problematic dispositions. The modern system didn't push women out of the home and into the workforce to liberate anyone, it did it to double their taxpayer base and to dehumanize and degrade the traditional family. This is not a knock at you Joel, you're awesome, and any woman would be lucky to have you.
