Thanks for the video. We had a trouble light last night and it showed “1”, then showed “3” and”6”. I wonder what could have caused the RF jam, cause now there’s no trouble light

Mine will periodically both lights go out for a few seconds then come back on such as yesterday I noticed while sitting in kitchen where the keypad is about every 3 hours it would go off for about 5 or 6 secs then back on.. Is it necessary to have the phone plugged in, cause I leave mine unplugged unless the alarm sounds then I plug it up.. My security service is out of Tennessee and my phone line is in Kentucky which is where I live?
Any suggestions on the light coming on and it dying before I could check it

a couple days ago my main DSC panel started beeping twice every 10 secs or so and i can temporarily disable that by checking the error via *2 and #
so what i have is a 1-4 (General System Temper error). i had no idea that the alarm box door being open can attribute to this, but i don't ever remember the door ever being closed. i just closed the door, but i still see the error symbol on the panel, what else can be causing this?

Thank you, your explanation is very clear and useful. My PK5501 panel shows the triangle and beep, *2-1-4. I contacted the alarm company, they said that is low battery, but it is still there after a new battery installation. what next to do? and before i change and install battery , should i call alarm company first? thank you very much.
You don't need to call the alarm company to change the battery.
However when you install the new one, you might need to wait few hour for the triangle to go away as the battery need to charge.
How to replace the battery
I’m back again a year later.
So mine shows 1 and the battery shows 13.58v on the meter, written on the battery it says that rating is a constant voltage standby mode. So does that mean I need a new battery?
The constant rating charge for cycle use shows it should be 14.4-15v
excellent video. i have one question. i still have comm failure (*2=4) despite having tried to remove it. Could it be that the PC1832 keeps trouble errors in memory? if so, what is the best way to reset the panel without losing zone information? thanks
It can be something in memory. The best way would be to call your central to be put on test, and then try to call an ambulance on the keypad. If the comunication work, the trouble will vanish.
@@HowToPM I forgot to mention I no longer have central service connected nor a phone line. So I toggled off the communication [380] and also [015] toggled off #7. But the yellow light still stays on.
In this case just reboot the alarm.
Disconect power and battery for a minute and reconnect it.
It should be solved.
You will need to set back time and date however.

Thanks for the video. I have a wireless sensor (smoke detector) with low battery. But i do not need that sensor and zone anymore. What are my best options to remove the smoke detector from the system? My panel is DSC RFK5501
*8, installer code, section 201 for zone 1 to 8 or 202 for zone 9 to 16.
Then disable the zone.
I will eventually do a video about all this.

What does the green swirl mean? My power had gone out for a while and now that it’s back on there is a green swirl button lit up. I think it has something to do with AC? Will it just turn off automatically once the temperature gets back to where it should be?
I don't know what is a swirl. But as far as I know the only green light there is, is a check mark and means that all door are closed and the system is ready to arm.

I don't know wich app you are using. DSC don't have app. There is some third party that can connect to it but not DSC directly.

If you aren't able to see anything on the screen at anytime that make me think to a short in the JKT cable.
Thank for you this video! The yellow triangle came on and it was the phone line. My phone company came out and fixed the phone but the yellow triangle is still showing. Any thoughts??
It was probably a failed comunication. It will be fixed by it's own on the next comunication. It probabably do an auto test every days or week.
You could also call an ambulance but advise the central that you will do that test.
Great video. I have a DSC PK5500 with Yellow Triangle showing. When I press *2, then View the Trouble it only displays 'Communications'. No error code numbers are shown. My landline phone is working (used to connect to alarm company), but they said they cannot reach my alarm system due to static noise on line. Thoughts?
The PK5500 display the problem in word instead of numbers. I always think it was weird as you got a better idea of the trouble with a code istead of a single word.
I would put my system in test and call an ambulance on the keypad to see if comunication work fine.
If not, you will need to check you phone cabling.

Pressing the *2 brings the yellow triangle but no number lights up? The status module blinks amber when not armed. Tried to reset it w no avail. Any suggestions?

Hi thanks for this video. My alarm keypad says "Keybus fault call for service" and they keys on they keypad doesn't work when I press them because of this issue. Do you know what could be the problem and what the solution is?
Looks like a short somewhere that bug everyting. That might be painful to find if you don't have experience into electronic or electricity. You need to isolate the problem.

I out new batteries in my living room sensor and it still says it’s a zone fault. So right now I’m going to replace the main control battery pack
since installing Rogers Ignite my trouble light stays on since there is no power going to it, my tv is on internet now so the cable is no longer needed and so is my phone, the phone is
hooked up to the modem, this is Rogers way of saving money, trying to get everyone off the cable system. Is there someway to correct the trouble yellow light ?
If you were connected by phone line you will have to switch to internet connection or cellular. But this is not something I can explain on a comment. I will do more video in 2021.

I have WT4911/WT8911 Two way wireless outdoor Siren. Press star twice in veiw trouble low battery. No low bettery in zone or keypad. Scrolling to view siren low battery. Low battery in Siren 2. I replace the battery outside but it still showng a triangle. Did I miss a step? Could it be for the strobe? Going to order a new battery.
Hum. Sorry, unfortunately I never worked with wireless siren or strobe. Only zone contact. I don't know how they show up when the battery is low.

Hi sir, do you know why lcd goes blank even if don’t touch it, I have installed 2 dsc and I have same problem with both and recently I changed the battery in main box
I seen couple time some LCD unpropely install. Not your fault, it's just easy to be missplace inside the keypad. Normally when you don't touch it it should display time.
@@HowToPM it shows the time but since I changed the battery in the main box I noticed this keypad blinking.
Hum. Maybe you have touch some wire while doing it. That make me think to a short. Make sure there isn't any red and back wire that barely touch each other.

Hi - we lost power for 3 days in Texas recently and my keypad is blank now. No chime for several days and now it’s chiming. I have not reset anything yet but wondering will the system remember my code? Or will I need to reset everything. Thanks in advance like I said I haven’t reset anything yet no clock no date.

My DSC PK5500 keypads (2) are blank. Are the keypads bad? I checked the main battery and it’s good. Help!!!
Firsts model of the keypad had a screen that was easely disconnect able. You can open the keypad to see if it's still sit right in place.
Hello! I find your videos very informative. I have a DSC SCW 9045-433 system. Off late the amber triangle continuously shows on it. After checking it using > then * 02 view system troubles then it shows device low battery after that advices to press * again. The message that I get is "Low battery key 02". Once again after pressing *, I get a message "there are no RF Zone Delinq" What does this mean. I am a novice at it. Can you please suggest? Thanks in advance
Hi. ''Key'' is probably a remote. The one you can use to arm and disarm from a certain distance. Your keypad won't show numbers of error but directly explain the trouble.

When I press *2 to determine trouble number, no number shows up, just the rapid flashing yellow trouble triangle. What would that mean?

Mine shows 1 and 3 I’m focusing on num 3 what if you don’t have it hooked up to the central station bc I don’t want it hooked up
It may still look for a phone line. This fonction is activated by default but it can be deactivated. I will eventually do all thoses solution video.

I have a DSC 1864 alarm panel, two of them, and the yellow triangle won't go off. No faults, no problems, the panel says everything is good, but the yellow triangle won't go off. I have a yellow triangle and a green check mark. How can I get it to go off......none of the fixes in these videos will make it go away!
I'm confuse. When there is a triangle, *2 should display the issue.
@@HowToPM It does not. The yellow triangle is lit, but *2 yields no faults.....no low batteries, no tampers, no zone faults, I don't know what to do to make the yellow triangle go away. It's so strange.
Did you ever figure it out? I have an led screen but same model everything else. My yellow triangle wouldn’t go off. I had no issues either. I have no idea what I did, after watching a couple videos and banging the pound sign a bunch but it finally went off. Then the company we’re connected to called saying I asked for a medical emergency. 🤷🏻♂️ Did you find a better way to clear the system trouble light?
The faulty design is Yellow Triangle Troubles, when showing up, my clients is keep pressing the triangle button, causing the Ambulance come to the front door. it happen very often
😂 I never had a client who did that. But I make sure to give a full tutorial everytime befor I leave.
If I press *2 it's says there are no system troubles but continues to beep

Looks light a short in the system somewhere.

After a power outage the yellow triangle came up I have disconnected the battery also disconnected the power pack from the wall and it still hasn’t cleared not sure what I’m doing wrong
You only had to wait for the battery to recharge. As you fully disconect it, now you will have to set back time.

The pads were working fine and from time to time it works and then it stops working, meaning the pads are showing activity. The system still works but the pads are blank and then maybe a couple of days later, the pads are visible again. This has been happening a lot lately. Confused. Help

If it does not work, you only have 2 option left.
Call the previous owner, or reset the main bord (but the system would need to be reprogramed).

There is some service that allow that kind of thing but most require an extra device and sometime a subscription. I don't have any to recommend.
My Alexor 955 system keeps giving "Siren 1" error. New battery in panel, battery voltage is 13.7. There is no external siren, only the siren in the panel itself.

So my keypad started beeping around 3 beeps and displays the yellow triangle. Then it stops and the triangle disappears. later it will beep again with the triangle, so I ran down there and did the *2 and it shows no issues. Then the triangle disappears again like as if nothing happened. So what could be wrong?

Well. There is defenitively a trouble with your phone line. Try to reboot your modem and check your phone line. Try to see if you have a tone on your home phone line while the triangle is on.
I do not want to have my security system monitored as I got rid of my home phone line. But the trouble light is on and once a week it beeps. I was told a technician needs to come out and de program my alarm so it stops trying to look for monitoring. My system shows #4-failure to communicate. How do I de program this so the trouble light is off? Thank you,
It don't remember what section it is by heart but it is a simple option to remove in *8 menu. It takes 15 seconds to remove.
You can ask if they want to guide you by phone but it is possible that they don't want to give you their installer code for security as they probably use the same code for all costumer.

I've just go back to read my installer menu for you.
You go to *8 (installer menu)
- input installer code
- Reach section 015
- Remove 7 (7 is the phone line monitor)
- Press # 3 times to exit the menu

Pascal I have a trouble code 1 when I press *2. Then nothing. I assume this means the unit needs a battery change only? Do you have a link to a video on how to change that? It is a DSC Powerseries, PK5500/PK5501/RFK5500/RFK5501/RFK5564 keypad. Thanks
You must press one again to see what the trouble is.
Jumping in here, as I have a similar problem. After *2, I am shown 1. I press 1, but the screen does not change and continues to show 1. Does this mean it is error 1 sub 1 (battery issue) or is there an issue accessing the subcategory? Thank you for this fantastic video!! Glad I didn’t press the triangle button
We have DSC battery that no longer is valid it came with the house and was never removed or uninstalled… now it beeps here and there and we can’t figure out to stop the beeping
Try holding the speaker button on the keypad. But the real solution is to replace the battery. 😉
Well my one show low battery. We had a power cut a month ago oh, but still show low battery
Yea this kind of trouble often show after a power cut. The battery is probably old and is no longuer able to fully recharge. It is still working but it may not last very long now.

You can have 4 zone on 3-4-5-6 for exemple, but nothing on 1-2

Adding wireless device is actually in the section 804 of the installer menu. But there might have some other settings to do too.
Mine has trouble light and the screen says fire. But I can't clear it and can't set alarm with it in that mode
You might have a smoke detector to reset.
You should be able to do it with the double arrow button.
Mine shows a 3 how do I fix this I want to get rid of the yellow triangle light.

Well you can take off the keypad by inserting a flat screwdriver in the lower cavity but that is not gonna help at all as the battery is in the panel. 😉
I got number “4” after *2. Turns out phone line was not working - no dial tone. Fixed it. I got the dial tone, but DSC still beeping and *2 shows number 4 again. Help please.
It might show up until the next comunication. Just wait, or call the central to put yourself on test and press the ambulance button.

Warning light on showing a 7. If I hit 7 it shows a large 9 on bottom
This mean the zone 9 battery is low.
Also I commend you on a clear and easy to listen to the many DSC alarm troubles. You missed trouble #9 that tells the user to trash the system and replace it with a newer better non-DSC system.
I would not say that. I have install many DSC system over a long period of time and would say that it's probably the most reliable tech I have ever use. Very very low defective rate. The motherboard is very solid and reliable. It can also resist to short for a long period of time. It's built like a tank. And most if it is built right here in Canada.
I also remember that I had a wonderfull tech suport on the phone.

It's the temper of an extension module that is open. Might be a pannel door that is open, or just a jumper that is not install.
Sorry I did get cufuse with 1-4.
4 only is because you alarm system tried to comunicate with the alarm central and it failed. So it's actually not able to send alert to the central because of your communication device or wiring.

The DSC panel can't contact you directly. It's made to communicate to the alarm central. You would need a third party module to do that kind of comunication.
