Great video. What's involved in the reprogramming? In my case I have both wired and wireless sensors. Do I have to re-pair all wireless in the event of a factory restore? Also, I'm looking for videos on how to remove sensors, I have smoke/co detectors which have reached end of life, 2 wired, 2 wireless. It's not worth replacing them as the parts are rare and expensive. I have Envisalink/EyezOn setup, would that be any help in reprogramming?

Did you add any other devices? How many devices do you have like Keypads / expanders / anything thats connected to the bus line? If you do have more then one device. Try removing everything from the Bus line and connect one device at a time. You might have a short somewhere or a faulty device.
Hi Jason, I have a DSC Power 832 and have recently cancelled my monitoring. I am having the trouble light problem (communication with the monitoring station). I have tried to enter the Installers Code (5555) but it is not 5555. If I follow your instructions, will it revert my system back to factory settings or just reset the Installers Code to 5555? If it resets the system back to factory settings, do you have a video on how to reset the whole system, time, date, stations etc?
Hi. The power 832 installers code is 5010 / 5015 / 5020. Only the main panel will default. All modules will not be affected. So you will have to reprogram the 1st 8 zones.

Try this this first. Remove the battery then unplug the power. Then plug the power back in after 10sec. If you hear a few clicks then your panel is locked and you can't do anything with it but try to guess the code.

My installer went out of business and to clear "GEN SYS SUPV" Error that appeared after I removed the Envisalink 4 Ethernet module in order to install a HUB6, I need the installer code. If I do a factory reset, can I just run with the default values or will I need to do extensive reprogramming?
Hi Alan, Yes to clear the trouble you will need the installers code. If you factory default your system you will have to reprogram the 1st 8 zone. Thats an Amazing instructional vidéo. Does following this video reset everything? I don't want my programmed zones to be removed. Or even if removed is there a way to reprogrammed easily? Is there any good reference for that? The problem I have stopped to pay the monitoring provider (installer) more than 2 years for monthly pay and they didn't leave the master code! And I have some troubles that I can't remove them from the panel unless I have the code. Please advise! Thanks
Yes, this will remove all programming. You need the installers code, try using the last 4 digits of there phone number or your account # you had with them. If one of them works for you. Let me know what trouble codes you have and I will tell you how to fix them.

Hi, My PC1616 panel in alarm is able to keep silencing the siren for a few seconds when any key is pressed. My old PC1616 didn't shut off until the end of the correct code was entered. It displays "CC" communication cancelled after the correct code is entered. Is there a setting for this? It's like definition 07 is on a zone but that would silence for 30 seconds not just a few. All unused zones are turned off.
@@JasonTech Hi, Thanks. The old panel when in alarm the siren would stay on until the last number of the correct code was entered. The new panel when in alarm all you have to do is hit any single number on the keypad and the siren stops for a few seconds then starts again until you hit any number again on the keypad. Intruders could just keep silencing the siren this way instead of the siren staying on until the last number of the correct code was entered. When I just hit a number to silence the siren, then put the correct code in to disarm, it displays CC '' communication cancelled''. The only setting I can find that remotely resembles this is 07 for delayed fire, but this silences the siren for 30 seconds when any key is pressed, not the 1 or 2 seconds I'm getting. Plus there's no fire sensors or zones programmed for fire. Only 4 zones are used with the other 2 toggled off. I think the panel may be defective. Thanks

Hi Jason - Ive just powered down my PC1616 (V4.60) (including taking off battery); left it overnight and powered back up. I can't get my RFK5500 keyboard to auto enroll now on powering up. It powers up and the date/time correctly set and then when I press a key the screen says Press (*) to Select Partition. When I do that I get another screen which shows the numbers 1,2,3 through 8 and under the Partition number 1 is the letter N. I can select that for the system and it then says registering and shows the letter R under the number 1. However, it doesn't keep it and after about 2 minutes it forgets it. Any ideas on cause / solution please?
Have you tried a module scan? To reset a module • Enter Program Section 902 • Press # and wait 1 minute for panel to scan the bus. • Then enter Program Section 903 to see the modules connected to the bus.

Ok, so I found the installer code, however is there also a different code called a lockout code or is the installer code one and the same? I did unplug the battery and unpluged from from the wall. When I plugged back in I got the clicks and then the beep which I've read that means it's locked out. Right? Thanks.
Hi. If you get no clicks it's not locked out. If you hear 8-10 clicks coming from the panel, the system is locked out. To remove to lockout do * 8 then installer code 991 installer code 991 # # Hope this helps.

Hi JasonTech, I followed the instructions and it did not reset. I didn't hear any clicking sounds either. After the reset and re-adding power, everything was still programmed like it was before. The other odd thing is that I never changed my install code from 5555. It's very odd that it's not working. It's a brand new install. Any ideas?

Hi, Your default installers code is 2550. If that doesn't work then try this. Follow the sequence outlined below to reset the panel to factory default conditions. 1.Power unit down by removing both AC and battery power. 2.Using a short jumper, short pins marked “EEPROM RESET” together. 3.Power PC2550 up. 4.Wait for 10 seconds then remove shorting jumper. 5.The system will have reloaded the EEPROM with the factory default codes. If your system is locked this will not work. You will have to replace your panel.

Hello I recently switched over to a VOIP telephone system and when the Internet signal drops it makes my phone say it's disconnected and it sets off my alarm system. How do I disable the my home phone to the DSC panel so that when the VOIP telephone drops it doesn't set off my alarm system?
There's nothing you can do, you will have to replace the panel. But did you try the old account number or the last 4 digits of the monitoring phone number?
Hi, We followed your instructions exactly but now nothing will turn back on or power up. The keypads and motion sensors are completely dead. Any ideas why? Thank you.
Will the 1832 system work without the backup battery? We tried unplugging it to see if the system works just with AC, but still nothing. Tried re-connecting the backup battery, still nothing. If the backup battery is all of a sudden dead, would that cause the entire system to be dead? Even though we didn't have codes, it disappointing now after doing this that the sensors and keypads don't work. Thanks for any help.
Hi Steven. Yes you will lose the programming, every device you factory reset goes back to factory setting. Most alarms have the zone list on the keypad. If you don't you will have to test each zone.
Hi. If you press and hold any of the panic buttons for 2-4 sec and it doesn't do anything. Your panic buttons might be on silent. To change that, you will have to go into programming 5555 - 015 - see if you have a 2, if the 2 is not there, press 2 then ##. Then test it again.
I just saw your video, without being there. It looks like you have low power at the keypad. Question: how many keypads do you have? Try removing the battery and disconnect the power to the panel. Then reconnect the battery, then the power and try it again.
Hi. After doing a panel reboot, If you hear 8-10 clicks come from the panel, the panel is locked out and you will need to get the installers code or get a new panel. If you don't hear any clicks, you can factory default the system and re-program it.

I have to use section *804 instead. my labels says 1832 v4.6 and rfk5500 1.3. is it me? equipment usually never goes bad. using 804 to enroll the wireless contacts are working fine. I have over 17 zones so i’m just dreading alpha key manual entry if possible.

Because you factory reset the panel. You have to now reprogram your alarm system. Do you know how to do that?

Have you tried a module scan?
To reset a module
• Enter Program Section 902

You can't get notifications, but you can have the alarm call you.

There's nothing you can do without the installers code. Keep in mind, if you factory reset your panel. You will have to reprogram the panel.

Hi. If you press and hold any of the panic buttons for 2-4 sec and it doesn't do anything. Your panic buttons might be on silent. To change that, you will have to go into programming 5555 - 015 - see if you have a 2, if the 2 is not there, press 2 then ##. Then test it again.
And another thing about it is to arm the system you after to press away then enter the code and the same thing for stay

I just saw your video, without being there. It looks like you have low power at the keypad. Question: how many keypads do you have?
Try removing the battery and disconnect the power to the panel. Then reconnect the battery, then the power and try it again.

Yes, there is a unlock kit but it's only available for DSC dealers and it works only on a few panels. That's the only way

Hi. After doing a panel reboot, If you hear 8-10 clicks come from the panel, the panel is locked out and you will need to get the installers code or get a new panel. If you don't hear any clicks, you can factory default the system and re-program it.

Yes this will work on the PC1565. The only way it won't work is, if the panel is locked.

@@JasonTech I was able to factory default but now wireless enrollment feature *898 is not available. I have to use section *804 instead. my labels says 1832 v4.6 and rfk5500 1.3. is it me? equipment usually never goes bad. using 804
to enroll the wireless contacts are working fine. I have over 17 zones so i’m just dreading alpha key manual entry if possible.
If 898 doesn't work, You can try a module scan hit 902 and give it a good 1 minute, if that doesn't work your stuck using 804.
