Thanks for the tip. You can also turn all chimes on and off by holding down the 'bell' icon for 2s (so I found out)
How would i enable the chime back?
@HowToPM will this same sequence work on model 5508 with no text display?
Yes they work the very same way.
I contacted my installer and yes, the Installer Code is 5555 on my PK5501. I followed your instruction
1. * 8
2. key in 5555 and got the lock turned red similar to your video
3. key in 109 for zone 9
The screen remained blank while on yours it shows 1234 6. As a result, I could not silent Zone 9 with "3" key
Your help is much appreciated. Thank you
Are you sure you are in the right zone?
Being blank make me think it might be an unassigned zone.
I have the motion sensor set to chime each time someone goes in the Garage, but for some reason, it stopped chiming so I used your suggestion of turning it off by pressing 3 and then 3 back to enable. My question is why do you suppose it stopped even though 3 was still showing when looking at the Garage motion zone. Thank you
So it's stop working and it work again after you done that?
That is really weird. That look like a bug but I rarely saw a DSC system bugging.
Thanks for the great video, we have a PowerSeries PC1616 and it use to have continuous beeping sound (1 sec. interval) when the system was armed and someone entered the building to warn the person or intruder that the alarm system was armed and a code to unarm the system needed to be inputted. It seems now that when the system is armed and someone enters the building the beeping sound has disappeared from the system.... no sound can be heard from the key panel. Any idea what could be causing this and how it can be turned back on? As far as we know, only two of us has the master code and neither of us has changed any of the settings on the system. The only thing that was done, new batteries were installed a few months ago on the keypad. Thanks.
I don't see why it's not beeping.
Are you sure it's armed?
Is there a way to set up a zone to always sound the alarm siren even if the system is not armed? Thank you, Bob
Yes, it have to be change in the definition of the zone in 001 in *8 menu.
There is some zone definition that will be instant alarm in any case.
Long shot here, do all keypads play audible sounds when a key is press or only the keypad that is currently being used for larger office/ homes. Thanks
This option will disable it for every keypad.
Have a question just moved to my home alarm system here i accidently hit away while trying to stop all the beeping, how can I permanently turn it off or disarm it. The last owner didn't give any codes or any info it's a DSC 1832
Easiest way would be to contact him to get the code.
Now that it's arm there is not much you can do.
You can simply disconect the power and battery on the main pannel and it would be off.
Otherwise you need to reset it and reprogram everything.
Thank you for this helpful video. After I input the zone section 105 the numbers don’t pop up so I cannot press 3 to deactivate. Any solutions?
You might have a different type of keypad.
Maybee you need to navigate right with the arrow to position 3 to see if it's enable.
Or you could still press 3 to see the state of that option.
Liked and subscribed you're amazing with this alarm stuff!
Do you know how we can seperate the keypad into zones?
For example, the house has its own password and zones.
The basement has its own passwords and associated sensors as well?
Thank you once again!
Hi Harman! Thank you!
What you are looking for is partition.
But... It's a bit complicated to explain over text.
It's on my to do list of video to make. But don't wait for it it may take a while.
I have a 20-yr old system with just keypad and no digital display. How can I do like you instructed?
It's the same thing. You must have numbers for 1 to 16 on your keypad. They will be on or off... But actually, if your system is 20 years old, I don't think it's the same series, it might be a little different. That video is for Power Series DSC pannel.
@@HowToPM I googled and was told “*4”. Wonder it would work
*4 worked for me on a 20 years old keypad. It beeped every time for every zone.
Hi, i have follow couples of your video. very nice and understanding. However i have the check green indicator light off on my dsc on the pad and could not enable to light up. Also there is symbol as a memory alarm on top left hand corner of the pad whihc i do not know what this means. Could you pls help.
Hi Ashik! You can scroll withe the arrow on top left to monitor open zone.
My door chime usually beeps short when door opens. After power outage, it beeps for long about 35 sec. How to fix it?
Wow... That's weird. The only time I heard that kind of long beep is before an alert. Into the desarm delay.
When the door remain open the panel make a sound every 10 seconds. The section 101 n3 does not stop this annoying beep.
In which section can I stop this beeping?
I never heard about a feature that make a zone beep while it remain open sorry.
Please update me about Bell termination and about this . . . thank you
Hi, I have two keypads, can I turn off chime on a single keypad and have the other one chime still?
With the feature I show in that video that will be for both keypad. However if you just press and hold the chime button on the right of the keypad, this will fully turn on and off the Keypad's chime... Individually.
@@HowToPM Like Jag U, I have three keypads in our home. I’m trying to turn off the chime in a single keypad. If I press and hold the chime button on any of my keypads, it turns off the chime function for all of them. If I press the *8 keys and enter the Master Code and then press and hold the Chime key, it does nothing. Can you give a little more instructions?
Hi, I just got a smoke alarm this morning, and it wont stop so I excrete many of dectors. And the sound when I close or open doors/windows went gone. I want the sound to come back, how do I reset them. Also I got the trouble light on the pad, can not remove them
Hi! You may enter your password twice to remove the alert. About the trouble light, I made that video that may help you : ua-cam.com/video/vnDUEyxSmc4/v-deo.html
Hmmm pressing the arrows doesn’t do anything. No numbers appear, in fact no response at all
Thank you so much. We bought a house with this alarm system. We don’t know the password. Also, it’s been beeping with code 3 and 4. HELP

How do I increase the volume of the door chime so I hear patients come and go?
Sorry I don't know by heart. I will eventually do a video about it.
Doesn't work
