I love that he always reminds the audience, hey this is YOUR world, this is YOUR painting, I'm merely giving you the tools to paint it. This is a very rare thing to do today. I remember many many days I spent sick from school watching him in the mornings. Bob Ross and Bob Barker, the ultimate sick day line up.

Shimee I didn't think I would need to explain it, but I suppose those who look too deeply into it only confuse themselves, so some clarification is necessary. When a person dies, they are dead in a physical and literal sense: but as long as you keep them in your mind and heart, then they're still alive in a metaphorical sense. It's such a simple concept that a child should be able to understand (no offense to you though, but I suggest you try taking your time to understand these things, rather than approaching them skeptically from the beginning).

For the past few days, I have "wound down" watching Bob Ross videos. His voice is so soothing. What a great way to end a crazy 🤪 day of noise and confusion with some "Bob Ross Therapy". What a treasure this man was and still is. ❤️
“My uncle… my favorite uncle. Uncle Sam….” A lot of people don’t remember (mostly most younger generation) that he was a military man. The works of beauty he found in coping with ptsd astounds me and I only wish I had a pinky nails width of his talent. Just a happy little reminder that you can do wonders if ya just beat the devil outta those bad times and throw in a happy little tree here and there.

The best part for me is when he took the time to acknowledge all the people in background production. He's right, too often the people who aren't seen barely receive the credit yet they are just as instrument in holding everything together, and that's not just in the entertainment business.

Those are the basics in the world of painting, i am much more impressed by the specific colours he selects for the certain terrain.
His son did a painting on an episode once, and the clouds at first me and my GF were like huuuh seriously? But then he brushed over them and blended them with the background and they turned out into the most amazing clouds I've ever fucking seen.

I have a question I know he said he painted with acrylic black and then when it dried he put other colors on top of that are they acrylic as well or oil? And how come you can't see them on top of the black I want to try to spend so confused

I lived in North Pole. Got in trouble with Santa Clause as a teenager when we were spinning donuts in his parking lot at 2am. True story! Great old guy named Don was "Santa" at that time (mid 80's), running The Santa Clause House. But even he had a temper when teenagers acted up stupid on his property in the middle of the night. 😂

Have you ever wondered how he just decides what he's gonna paint that day. Like, you can paint his paintings but he just came up with this, he's not following a tutorial AND he does it in under 30 minutes...that's really impressive.
It’s even crazier that he would record multiple episodes a day. So he’d just rattle off back to back paintings like nothing
Honestly he kinda reminds me of the sims when you teach them to paint. They're max skill and you just get them to paint 24/7. Except Bob only makes masterpieces.

It's partially due to the different types of techniques that can be used. Bob Ross uses wet on wet techniques using oil paints, however if you use acrylics to paint you have to wait for layers of paint to dry before you can go over them again.
