      I'm going to do one of Bob's paintings and I'm going to paint some happy little devils in amongst all the trees, and maybe... maybe...a couple in the happy little clouds, with their little friends. And... since it's my world, I'll just go crazy a little bit and give 'em all baseball bats.... and, well... we'll just see where that takes us........

    Bob Ross UA-cam comment section: the ONLY place on the entire internet where people are so overwhelmed by someone so purely a beautiful soul, that no one argues and there are nothing but positive, heart felt comments. He was truly one of a kind.
    Amazing Bob Ross fact is that he was a drill instructer in the Marines (I believe? Would have to check his wiki again to be correct what specific service he was enlisted to) and when he was done with his service, vowed never to yell or raise his voice ever again. I could just not imagine Bob screaming. Ok, one more amazing fact is that he was so broke when starting this show, that to save $$ he started perming his hair, but because it was so iconic to him, he had to keep it after his success, and he hated it and wss the ONLY thing he wished he could change. He even wore a wig on one of his last appearances before he died to keep his look.
    Bob, you ARE a beautiful soul, wherever you are now.

      I think what he is saying might be an act. It is pleasing, but not true or realistic, like Christianity. Yeah, it would be great if an almighty being is working hard to help us, but in reality there is no such being. Ross says that you can do anything on the canvas, but you know even the most talented painters cannot paint everything.

      Bob is Bob☺ and Bill is Bill. Both are great painters and when a student excels it shows he has a great teacher. I learned this style in a correspondence art course. I enjoy watching Alexander but adore Ross.

    • @gtphile
      @gtphile 3 роки тому +16

      For the comments that mention Bob stole the art from Bill Alexander, he didn't . Bill taught Bob Ross this method. Bob Ross paid for courses and learned. He learned and became an instructor of this method. People loved watching and listening to Bob in his classes and made things happen for Bob. They saw that Bill was a great painter, but they liked Bob. Bob accepted the business opportunities and did his best to make a living doing it. Bob gave credit to Bill a number of times on his show and he wouldn't have done that if he just "stole" his style. Also, nobody mentions this part, when you are an artist you add your own flair and personality to your work. Bob did this and made it unique. This is what we have come to love. If we didn't love him and his style so much, we might all be watching videos of the guests he had on or Bill Alexander.

  • @miyagi_draws
    @miyagi_draws 5 років тому +14

    Bob's painting style is quite easy to start if anyone wants to paint. You really need the liquid white for the canvas and pick up his paints which are dry. Most retail oils are thinned out with linseed oil, which makes them run too much if you hit them on the liquid white. Your paints will over-blend and you won't be able to do what Bob does. Do yourself a favor and pick up his paints and tools, they are about the same price as student grade retail.
    You can even take his method outdoors and do some great Plein-air paintings, just remember to trust what nature is showing you and use Bob's method. You'll do great.

    I wasn't lucky enough to be born in those years, when Bob Ross was making this show and when he was alive, but still, his show and his personality are great enough to make me relaxed. His voice is calm and everything he says sounds relaxing and his paintings are beautiful indeed. His show is also a great way to learn painting techniqes. Unfortunately, he's not around anymore...
    Thank you Bob Ross.

    One time in art class we watched these videos and someone fell asleep while in the middle of a drawing. He later woke up when he rolled off of the stools he was laying on and fell on the floor. Making memories with good ol’ bob Ross

    We need a world full of Bob Rosses, it always amazes me how he can make a painting so pretty by taking a big brush and just dab it all over and make trees or clouds, and using a knife to make Mountains what a talented artist he was.

    Has anyone noticed that in a place like this, where people normally brutalize and leave nasty comments, there are NO mean or nasty comments about Bob Ross. Not ONE, on ANY of these pages, which have hundreds of comments. I have never seen so much love for one person.
