Truck payments get old in a hurry. Do you really want to use def??? I could see going w/a conventional for the ride, but nothing w/EPA problems attached. Saw a KW needle nose w/NY plates a couple years back NW of Milwaukee, flat top sleeper and side pipes, it was so great looking, stellar sound. Mind you, it was a bit of a beater looking but it was working fine.

Steve, keep up the great content! Sometimes videos like this are therapeutic, you give us the insight of your mindset, while at the same time it helps you talk out issues and think of solutions. Don't let the damn UA-cam Police get you down. They'll moan and groan about everything. Don't replace Orwell, just keep on keeping on.

I drove my 82 K-100 VIT for 26 years over the road. You have to stay on top of it. Especially running Canadian winters. You learn what it takes to
wear a truck out. I never abused it, but time and miles takes a toll. If I might offer up a suggestion, I’d change that seat. Your body will appreciate
it. I parked mine in good running order in 2007, after I returned from my weekly trip to Winnipeg from Toronto. Just nosed into my spot and turned
the key off. That was it. I sold it 2 years ago to a guy who already has a restored 82 just like it. He’s doing my old gal over now. So it still lives.
The best dreams I had I’d be driving that truck, but I haven’t had one in a long while.

Another great video Steve. Always enjoy the content, and multiple camera angles! I worry its going to be difficult finding someone reliable to work part time. Especially someone younger/inexperienced, is going to be problematic if you're going to try to be out on the road, and they're expected to get work done with no guidance..and if you are going to be there, how do you measure what you're gaining time and value wise.
It'll be a process no doubt, and I wish you all the luck!
    As always, keep on truckin!

If you enjoy driving Orwell I'd keep him. I don't know how much you make on UA-cam, but Orwell makes your channel unique. You could get a new stepdeck. That would solve some of the maintenance issues.

    1) Keep and drive Orwell 2) I have seen, but do not know how true, the price of a used truck is nearly half from a year ago. Buy a used truck that will generate income. 3) Repair/ Rebuild other truck. 4) Or, buy more used trucks if you want and if freight will allow. Keep up the good work, I enjoy your video's.

Plus I love seeing cab overs on the road and orwell is the reason for that. You make great videos. Don't let these haters get to you!

I never understand why you let other people who obviously know nothing about trucks or trucking, live rent free in your head. When other UA-camrs say that a comment bothers them, then guess what? They got you and they will keep on doing what hater’s do. Hate.
I have over 30 years out here too, actually I enjoy when you call in on Steve Sommers show. Just keep on doing what you’re doing because the real truck drivers out here understand what you go through.
Yes get the 352 going I would love to see it on the road. I do look for you on the road when I am traveling too. I appreciate the content and the ride along in Orwell.

Don't listen to the haters Steve, Orwell gets the job done! I have a small fleet with the oldest being a 1984 pete 359 and the newest being a 2015 pete 567. I run the 84 and there is up keep/ maintenance to keep her going but the 2015 is in the shop several times a year with issues. Issues that are expensive to fix and you have to go to dealership because of all the computer BS. I'll take my 84 over the 15 any day. The folks that are commenting negatively have no idea of what it takes chances are. Keep doing what you are doing brother, you're doing it right!

Orwell is as much the channel as you are. Anyone who wants you to replace Orwell should place their hands into their pockets and pay for the unnecessary replacement for Orwell.
Part of the charm of your channel is your and Orwell's honesty, and lack of bling and chrome.
Hard working truck and operator, not a show pony and showman.
Nice big shiny is nice, but functionality is also nice.

Hi Steve it's Aron from Australia I don't like people who write hate comments about Orwell. Orwell is a great old truck he's alot better than the modern trucks I'd rather drive an older truck then a new truck so don't worry about what the haters say because there lives are boring and all they do is watch people's UA-cam videos and they write hate comments about Orwell because they have nothing better to do so they will write hateful comments

My entire family owned and drove trucks. I’ve literally been in trucks since I was born and I have so much respect for you!
