Driver, if you ever go to the port in Savannah, GA, do not follow the trucks pulling the containers. There’s two sides, one for the containers and the other side is the break box side where you would be loading with a flatbed or any other type of trailer. Good luck. I love the videos, keep them coming.

Hi Dan. First time watcher. Would have enjoyed more port action (loading and unloading) and load descriptions. Having said that, nice job getting in and out of an unfamiliar place.

Phew, I really felt like I was shotgun with you for that trip. The anxiety / stress of loading from a new location (especially one that’s very regulated) and then the curve ball of assisting the other Mercer driver (whom I’m sure was so grateful). Get some rest Dan.

Some places are easier to get into than others. I went to a nuclear power plant one time, and they would only let one truck in at a time. I had to drive my truck in between two sets of gates and get out and go into a building, though one door, and take what I had in my pockets out, leave it in there and wait for them to check my truck out. Then go out another door and get in my truck and follow a guy to where I was going to unload. Dump my load and follow the guy back to the gates, go between them, and reverse what I did over to get out of there. Was glad I only had to go there once.
    Stay safe, and God bless.
    Dan 🇺🇸

This brought back memories (nightmares?) of when I used to go in the ports in New Jersey/New York. I did that for several years, pulling containers and also airfreight out of JFK. You're absolutely right, if you don't know what you're doing, you get eaten alive. But there's a first time for everything! Great video Dan

Next time, full speed 360 like a Fast n Furious movie. The container drops from the crane and then you miraculously catch it with the flat bed then roar outta the port amid a hail of gunshots. That's how 🤔 I always imagined new Orleans anyway.

Dan Dan the professional flat deck man. I use to hate going to the ports. It didn’t matter where the port was. It’s all a big union so a lot of the port employees are not the nicest to deal with. Plus there is so many different sections to the port and so many different warehouses. I was getting on edge just watching your video. Know wonder your tired you tarpped two loads. I hope the other driver learned something. Thanks for posting Dan. Have a great and a safe day. Happy trails to you, D..

I parked in the lot to walk over to the building to check in just as you were going to get loaded…was wondering what you were getting loaded with. That place is always best to get there after the first morning rush of the container trucks coming in, mad house for sure. The Shell Station TS in La Place is definitely the go to truck stop heading west, the Pilot parking lot is so run down currently it is best to just stay clear of that one. Stay Safe.
