We live by the Ohio turnpike, and my wife works at the plaza. The 47 car pile up in that storm was not far from my house, and the well over 100 car pile up a couple years ago started in the exact same spot. The day this storm hit, my wife was released from surgery a day early from the hospital, putting us on the turnpike to get home. They had the pike being detoured around the pile up since 5 people were killed (I consider a pregnant mom as 2 people). Right b4 the exit there was a very bad whiteout with a ton of close calls and people skidding off to the side to miss other cars. Seriously a messed up situation. The Turnpike was charging all the vehicles to get off creating the back up into the whiteout .
The bomb cyclone was Hell for me. I'm a "four wheeler" and I work in broadcasting (in Nashville, TN). I went to work Thursday morning (12-hour shifts - 5am to 5pm) and stayed in a hotel down the street from the TV station Thursday and Friday nights. Weather bomb, a new term in which the news caster can bring you the worst info you could have. What’s wrong with people, it’s winter, it’s a snow storm. They are always trying to reinvent a storm to something worse. When will people learn. So in the summer are they now going to call it shower bomb. I use to hate being under the gun if I don’t get unloaded and loaded in time and it ment if I was late I had to sit. That part of trucking I hated, no matter how hard you tried to avoid it you did get caught. Running empty in the ice and snow for sure is not no fun. Trucking some days just gets dangerous. It’s not for 10 or 15 minutes it’s for many hours at a time. I head about what happened to Tim and his business. No words could even come close to explaining the loss and all the feelings attached to it. Any who FSC another fine video, have a great and a safe day, happy trails and happy motoring.,,

The travel restrictions were to prevent drivers that don't know how to drive from wrecking and blocking highways and trapping people in their vehicles for 2-3 days. Remember what happened in West Virginia not too long ago?
Also remember Pearl Harbor no that was not a conspiracy theory they knew they were coming they needed the public to be a state goat to sacrifice some to get the rest to fall in line feel free to believe otherwise
I remember very well what happened in Atlanta a few years ago. I have an AWD vehicle, so I took the steep roads when possible to avoid everyone stuck. A 45 minute drive took me 7 hours. There were people stuck in their cars for 3 days. I then spent 2 days pulling cars up a local hill and driving people home. Too many people, including many truckers, don't know how to drive on the snow.

I live in northern New England where the “BOMB CYCLONES” go. And the most ridiculous part of it, is that we are so well equipped, and so heavily staffed with drivers, we could get 3ft of snow in 24hrs, and every major, plus half of our secondary roads would not only remain open, they’d be clean as a whistle! Manchester/Boston airport has only closed once in 90yrs. That was on 911. A blizzard around here, is equal to something stuck to the bottom of my shoe. 😂
Not where I live in the Cincinnati area, one inch of snow is equal to the Apocalypse, and all systems are basically FUBAR, schools are closed, roads are disaster areas, and the end is near! And if you think this is bad, go to the Nashville Tennessee area, and watch the pandemonium. Having driven trucks for the past 35 years, I never had a problem along the I-90 corridor between Chicago and Boston during a big snow storm, because those areas have the equipment and knowhow to deal with it. Some places like Kentucky and Tennessee sold off their snowplows back in the 80's and 90's ,and states like Indiana and Ohio buy up huge quantities of salt in the summer, and sell most of it to other states during the winter, and when they do get a big snowstorm, they run out of salt in the first few days.

Dang how do you see with those headlights???
looking into getting my class a cdl this summer(I turn 19 in a week) I like working on trucks and driving. Anybody have any advice, is it worth getting and what should i watch out for? I would get it at a local community college that offers a course and training but also gives a manual endorsement.
Turn 21 first, and then get the cdl a.
Like commented below most companies arent able to hire you if youre not 21 cause they cant get insurance on you till then. If you have a mom and pop company you know of and could get on then go for it. thats what i did till i was old enough. Got my cdl through a community college learn to drive manual most mom and pops around my area only have manuals and alot of big companies have automatics. Hope that helps holler if you got more questions.😎✌🏻

Learn on a manual, and if you're state is big enough you might be able to work for an intrastate only company.
@@thekid3032 I already have gotten 2 job offers from mom and pops companies, they just told me i need a cdl and they would hire me. Thanks for the insight, I have heard of the insurance issues before but some companies can look around the age due to the driver shortage.
@@HeyItsJonny Yeah I understand the 21 thing as The Kid states about the insurance part, but most work i would be doing is for family known companies which work a lot of jobs inter state of Pennsylvania.

Imagine, if you’re confused, along with the other OTR’s, what are the state troopers thinking that they can enforce. They have to be just as confused.
Redcoats pretending to be peace officers when in reality they are mercenary Hessian pirates in employ of admiralty courts for profit
What was the app you were using to check travel restrictions
The internet. Each state has a 511 website.

I'll keep an eye out for more of those BOMB CYCLONES. Hahahaha. I appreciate your sarcasm with all the ignorant things you come across. I'm starting to see more and more of it now that I'm a trucker for the past 6 months.
The guys chains are loose in front of you hauling the scraper… idk if you even saw that going back and forth
Have you ever tried Rain-X? I always did back when I was drivin,,,🏴☠️
Yes. I don't like the increased glare.
Being inconvenienced by safety regulations on public roads is analogous to being marched to the gallows? Gotta luv that thinking.
Yes it snows in the winter. But life threatening blizzards are something govt officials should take seriously. And weatherman can't always predict things accurately, but that doesn't mean the predictions don't have value.
They need to let old school truck drivers wright the directions restrictions haha
Come on Orwell you can do it
praying for the gentry family after the fire destroyed their shop..hoping they make it through the idiot insurance and at least no one hurt
Right signal, left turn

Thanks for the window time 🙏🇺🇸
It all the bad truck drivers out there that makes it bad for the all the good truck drivers
It's the government, it'll never make sense
How can they stop you travelling at night
They ban certain trucks based on weight and conditions as THEY decree as our rulers.
You and Orwell can do it
