    I've played on and off since launch and honestly, as far as content goes those first couple years didn't bother me too much, but I've played several live service games. It's normal for them to be lackluster at first. This gives them room to grow and adjust to feedback.

    • @AVVGaming1
      @AVVGaming1  5 місяців тому +1

      That’s a fair point. I remember when ESO first dropped and if you look where it is today it’s miles ahead since it’s launch. It could just take time and maybe it’ll be huge. What’s your opinion on it compared to the other fallout games?

    • @Lordoftheapes79
      @Lordoftheapes79 5 місяців тому

      @@AVVGaming1 It's an online game. Comparing it to other Fallout games in this regard is unrealistic. You also have to keep in mind that originally, it was supposed to just be an online mode for FO4 and it is built on that foundation. Obviously, this causes problems that other games don't get, but it's also a learning opportunity for Bethesda. It thought it was going to be more like GTAO, but turned out, it was more like ESO than the devs originally thought. It is gradually finding it's place between the two, although slower than any of us would like.

    9:45 This is not true. Even at launch, there were NPC's ... only a few, but they were still there.
    I understand that I am firmly in the minority on this, but I actually LIKED that the world was mostly empty. This was not like the other Fallout games, where you are meant to save the world. Instead there is no world left to save, it is all too late ... you are here to avenge it!

    • @AVVGaming1

      Yes they had a few robots and such, and I’m not saying it’s the wrong way to do it, but it’s so different to what people expected which as a result lead to a situation where people disliked it. People really don’t like change lol I know they put more NPCs in it now but they haven’t hit the same. It’s honestly not a bad game, but it is different and that’s the key!

    I played it on launch and left when they had a bug that let you loot other players inventory like containers stealing everything that got in 2 seconds. The reason I haven't been back after updates that look interesting are the micro transactions that are just blatantly pay to win that were added in after launch like unlimited storage and repair kits.

    • @AVVGaming1
      @AVVGaming1  5 місяців тому +1

      Yes I don’t like these in any game. I get why they do it, and people do pay for it so they will keep adding it, but for me I prefer to earn stuff through playing. Like in ESO, I’d rather earn gold to buy a house that just buy it with real money. But of course, the best houses Are cash only lol. It’s just something I don’t like.

    I never bought 76 because I saw the writing on the wall and I was very happy I didn't. I guess I could take a look at it now but I don't see any reason to do so, it's not a game I'll ever be into. I don't like paying extra to get the complete game outside of good dlc and I'm not really into multiplayer anyway. Still I'm glad this game found it's fan base and I hope they'll have lots of fun with it.

      @@AVVGaming1 well, that's a lot to ask for in youtube comments 😂. It's definitely overwhelming at first, but a lot of it is redundant and is only useful for specific playstyles. The best advice I can give, is to not stress it too much. Switch cards when you feel it's necessary and switch back if it's not working out. Scrap your unused cards unless they're strategic (lockpicking, hacking, or crafting for example). Letting your deck get out of hand can make your head spin. Don't save cards "because I might need it later". If you don't know exactly when you would use it, you can always get it again later. And this is the most important part. You NEVER stop getting more cards. Yes, the packs are random, but you get to choose a card every time you level up, forever. There is no mistake in this system that can't be fixed, given time.
      When it comes to animated cards, they're just cosmetic. Keep them or don't, that's up to you.

      I play ESO pretty much regularly since it came out. It’s so well done in that every map they drop, had loads of side quests and activities. The writing in ESO has continued to grow and there is so much to do, it’s ridiculous and high quality everywhere you look. When I heard 76 just released a new map now, I was like, really? One map expansion in 5 years? That’s it? Also, Todd Howard was asked about his company on ESO. He said, he doesn’t play it or even look at it. Like he has zero interest in it. Even if he doesn’t, he should have at least played it to learn from it since it’s been incredibly successful for a Bethesda brand online. The fact he didn’t appears arrogant in my opinion. I’ll be honest, I struggle so much to have fun with 76. It was my first ever Fallout and I’ve had the game since Christmas 2018, but I’m only Level 37. I’ve been gaining Rose’s trust at the Top of the World for the past 5 years. (Granted the last couple years I accidentally started doing the wastelander’s story.) Luckily I think I’m finally really into it. Combat is just not fun. Until the last couple weeks all my weapons suck and I have only found 5 weapon plans my whole time playing. I got a Gatling plasma and like 10 cores so now I just mow people down. Before it would take like over 3 minutes to kill a super mutant. I run up close to them to do more headshots, Shoot them, run away and get my health back up, and repeat.
    Also in the last couple months I’ve finally started going back and playing other Fallouts. I finished 3 (although I want to play it again to do all the side content.) and I’m currently playing New Vegas. Caesar wants me to destroy House’s bunker. After NV I’ll play 4, and maybe the original 2 assuming my 5 year old cheap laptop can run it. I’m guessing it can considering the original ran on 30 year old tech.

While in F4 building was more of a gimmick with no real purpose or ability to share it with community. As far as the camps, I 100% agree with you on that. In FO4 you can build them and be proud but no one can see the work you put in. In 76 the fact the camps are there and available really makes it rewarding to put so much time in building it and everyone has their own unique house and aesthetics which I really like. From what I’ve experienced as well, people like yourself (higher levels) have tended to be the nicest people I’ve met online. In any game. So much help for the lower level players for no reason other than to help someone. The community has been good. The highest level I ever reached was about 70, but that was back when it first dropped or early on.

    I think most takes I've seen on Fallout 76 are too uncharitable to the Monetisation in the game. The cost to play is completely standard to the industry and is actually on the cheaper end of the spectrum. People tend to compare the cost of the game to Fallout 4, when what they should be comparing to is other MMOs. A copy of 76 costs less than the newest WoW expansion, and Fallout First is the same price as a WoW or FFXIV subscription. It's also comparable to season passes in most online games now. Fortnite, Diablo IV, Destiny, CoD etc. As for the Atom Shop sales, Fallout First gives you a stipend of atoms each month and season at a better value than buying Atoms directly, which is enough to buy a featured bundle with a decent amount left over to save up. I have a beautiful camp having only spent money on Fallout First and played through the seasons.

      I’m with you! The point of this video is mainly to explain why someone who loved the other fallout games may not like this. Compared to other games it is the only one online with costs for membership. Now compared to other online games, you really do get much better value than other online games in my opinion. None of it is mandatory either. You don’t have to subscribe in order to play the game which is really nice. And you can still get a nice base without spending. If I did a video comparing online costs of MMO games, this would be one of the best games for value. The video was not just to attack 76, more to show how it’s different. I will always respect a company who turns a disaster into something good. Like cyberpunk. The fact they never gave up on it means a lot and says a lot too.

      Not to mention that you don't have to have fallout 1st to play comfortably at all. And the "season pass" is completely free. Fallout 1st Is just about convenience you don't "need" it. You can buy fallout 1st for one month and store enough junk for 6 months if you know how to farm junk or make trades for large amounts of junk. I have over 4k hours in the game and yes I have fallout 1st but I don't need it at all. Not to mention using other characters as mules and just having better weight and inventory management. People who don't play think it's all about microtransactions when they see the atom shop which literally is just like skins in any game. You dont need to spend money to play the game at all. Fallout 4 killed me because i couldnt be anyone but this voiced, dad that didnt care about killing his only child because he became a prick. It’s so lazy from the developers really. I mean, if the players create a story between them then great, but that doesn’t mean you omit one in the game. You give them the option of that content as well. At least that’s how I feel it should be done.

    The road map that listed Oblivion and FO3 remakes was from before aquisition and covid. The first thing to do in a corporate takeover or when a huge market disruption comes about is cut the fat and focus on the main money makers. I wish they would make the remakes but it just isn’t likely.

    Only thing about the player homes looking nice and "dream homes" It's only been 20 years after the bombs dropped. You can probably scrounge some stuff up. I played it at launch, so to claim it was literally unplayable is patently false. I couldn't care less about the bag your swag merch came in. The main reason it had a bad launch was because it was simply a very different type of game than the previous single player titles in the franchise. Because fans of those titles knew they wouldn't be getting another one for at least 10 years, they had a fit. And then the youtubers piled on for those juicy, easy outrage clicks.

      I can see where you’re coming from absolutely. I think the game received more negative press than it deserved. At this point, the game is a very good game. I played it when it launched and had a personal tough time with it running. Maybe I was just unlucky. As far as the bag goes, it was the way they handled it. If you pay $300 for something, you’re going to expect it. And if it arrives different, you have a right to be upset. But yes, if was a totally different game than the usual fallout and some people will hate it regardless of what it does in the future even if it went on to be the best fallout game, simply because it’s online.

      @AVVGaming1 Thanks for the reasonable reply. Regarding the bag, if a game developer messes up your merchandise purchase, sure, you should get what you paid for, but that's a totally different department than the digital game, and doesn't belong in the game review. Exactly what I mean! Fallout 3 was a step away from 1 & 2, fallout 4 was another step away from 3 and then 76 is a totally different game. It’s not the same. It’s a different experience. Some people love it, but it’s not a game that I can get immersed into. And I hate micro transactions. The “play by yourself for money” is absolutely the worst too, because I’m assuming most people who want to play by themselves wouldn’t really be Falout 76 fans, more fans of the older games. I don't care if Fallout 76 is "good now," the fact Bethesda thought it was acceptable to release it the way it was at launch was unacceptable and their attitude about it afterwards has forever left a bad taste in my mouth.
    Besides, I dislike online games, especially immersion-breaking ones like this one where you can wind up on a server surrounded by one-man-army badasses clad in their own custom Power Armors, overpowered heavy weaponry, and player homes that make you think the bombs never fell with how pristine, luxurious, and large they can be. Not only does this downplay the individual player's own achievements and make them seem quaint in comparison, but it also makes you wonder how West Virginia isn't some widely-known heavenly bastion with most legendary fighters throughout the wastes in all the games that came after it... especially Fallout 3, given the state of the Capital Wasteland and how it isn't all that far from the place that's comparatively pretty nice and quite habitable.
