I always imagined the propaganda with the giant robots being a projection by the US government because they were the people actually building the giant robot
Why would they really need propaganda to like "shift the blame" if the Chinese were already actively at war? No point blaming the Chinese at that point
@@SubtotalStar850-uh8pg Um.. Propaganda is used to both demonize the enemy and make sure the people are with the cause. Like Propaganda has been used in almost every war in history, as well as many other things. its no doubt the american government was using propaganda in Fallout during the conflict against the Chinese
It is honestly far more likely that the Chinese didn't have this great robot, and that what we see is just propaganda to convince the public to let the US government create Liberty Prime. As for the power armor, it is also more likely that they just captured a few frames, made their own armor, then didn't get to finish it before the bombs dropped.
I assumed the Chinese used the "Spy Sneaking Suit" for the elites Spec Ops to disrupt enemy line. Meanwhile in FO lore, the Chinese still used the normal "Human Wave attack" with normal infantry without any fancy Power Armors. Think Operation Anchorage was basically based on the Korean War.
China has a reputation in our real world of stealing creations and cheaply mass producing them so yes, I can see them using espionage to steal the plans and produce one themselves or several before the US finished the production of one.
It would work alot like how America ended up creating the nuclear bomb. The nazis had written nuclear theories off as "jewish science" but thanks to a nudge of convincing and advocacy, the USA rushed to fund a project involving nuclear power. They kept the ultimate goal secret of course, but even when spies revealed any attempt the nazis were working on a nuke had almost entirely halted by 1943... America pushed on assuming that they could have it any day.
Since it's based on the excavator power armor, designed for civilian applications, it seems more likely the spies in Appalachia just found some and used it. Probably after the war, as you also can see their flags everywhere and visit their bunkers, one under a food company.
I was about to write this myself but yes you are correct it was used by military and police as riot gear as a alternative due to low reserves of power armor due to most being sent to the east coast and on the front in China.
You gotta realize that likely means only the body armor and helmet/gasmask assembly would be known. The duster coat, pants, and boots would be completely unknown to anyone pre-NCR
@@YeeMacghyee of-course the pants and boots are an NCR addition they are literally Jeans and normal leather boots though based on the looks of the Riot Armor and the Ranger Armor it looks like Ranger Dusters are quite simple and cheap compared to the Duster of the Old-World Riot Armor, likely due to the original dusters falling apart from long use by the Rangers themselves and they have over time replaced them with post-war reproductions (real world reason being that the Riot gear in Lonesome Road got a lot more love)
12:01 The Ranger armor is pre war, used by marines in the Gobi campaign and later as Riot Gear. The ranger armor in game even has markings for it being local riot gear. The Desert Rangers used it for a long time until its adoption by the NCR in the unification treaty in the 2270s.
Yeah, always liked to imagine the Chinese having their own version of Liberty Prime. The FO76 Red Shift power armor skin is probably the closest we will get.
The robot on the poster is a personification of the "Chinese war MACHINE". It doesn't mean that there is a giant Chinese robot, it was just supposed to look imposing and fit the message. When it comes to power armour it most likely exists, the way that the US copied the stealth suits. I might remember it wrong but I think power armours were introduced to combat for the first time in Alaska but I might be wrong on this fact.
The Alaska campaign was to either have Power Armour or have Liberty Prime as supporting fire in the battles, and the armour finished first. That’s why Liberty Prime was decommissioned too.
@@gustavusadolphus2436 they would have kept going until they worked out the power issue, but the power armor finished and was deployed. Since Liberty Prime was stalled and its primary campaign was already completed, they ended development. The money would be better spent on better quality armor than giant robots (except Roboscorpions, because it seems Big Mountain had power management issues rather than battery issues. But you are right, that is one of the main reasons why it was cancelled.
I’d assume the Chinese were redesigning the armour pieces and were just using Power armour frames that they captured from the US, since raiders have done the same with scrap.
In my own headcanon, Chinese power armor was based on stolen designs for T-49 , ( the Storytellers armor. ) T-49 was developed as way of addressing many of t-45s flaws, using lighter metal alloys and other refinements. Only a few prototypes of T-49 were initially built, but in the end, T-49 was not put into full production due to infiltration and espionage at West-Tek, compromising the design and exposing flaws to the Chinese. T-49 was only meant as a stopgap between T-45 and T-51 whilst the poly-laminate composite armour was in development , but it did yield some reults. Improvements made to T-49 were put into upgraded T-45 models and much of T-49 was used as the basis for T-60. Some later revised T-49 models were developed for consideration in use by the Marines, but this plan wasn't put into action after the bombs dropped in 2077 .
I think the PLA had limited amounts of power armor. I also think they had the big bots first. They had tanks and that ion field in Anchorage. There’s also way too much PLA surplus uniforms and weapons in the DC wasteland to assume the war was going to end anyway. The US were also using a full force of power armored marines in China by the end also. Makes sense that the power armor was reverse engineered by the Chinese, and subsequently Liberty Prime was reverse engineered from PLA Prime. I think the PLA hit Anchorage gun batteries hard with their big bots first, which caused them to lose a handful but allowed their massive infantry and tank reserves to push way deeper than they could’ve without. In the process of creating a two front war the PLA failed to withdraw the remains of their big bots which were destroyed or damaged. Thus they were captured and the US tried to build their own. But by the time the LP program had any margin of success it was way too late, and by the time the Chinese had began production of their power armor to throw off the US invasion, it was also too late. Power armor marine battalions were outside Beijing and the PLA was literally in DC with submarine artillery on standby. Kind of sad but both sides probably pushed the button at the same time out of panic and paranoia realizing the end was near without any retaliation at all.
Yeah, there's so much damn commie stuff in the wasteland that we know the spies and sleepers on both sides were getting bolder and the war was ramping up, personally I've never thought much about it, just liked that I could dress my character up in commie gear and no one really minded.
China I known for cheaply mass producing stolen ideas so yes I can see them using thier stealth technology to steal the plans for liberty prime and producing thier own version or several before the US could finish thier own.
even back in fallout 3, in the crater of megaton there is a vault tec nuke so since then people gussed that vault tec were the reason for the war and not that both sides pressed the button at the same time. even if we let vault tec out of the picture the US didn´t really know about the chinese in DC havin there infiltrater running around and the uboat befor the coast of boston in F4. in there mind they finally freed american soil from an invasion and now could throw everything on the chinese mainland
@@anthonytoledo7744My guess is that Vault Tec dropped the first bombs and then the US launched their missiles at China in confusion which resulted in China launching theirs.
I could definitely see this big mech being used In India, Japan, or Russia Where The Chinese military has an established battlefront and supply lines. It seems to me like the Alaska campaign was more like a raid To destroy the United States ability to invade (from) Alaska. Not china's invasion of north America.
I had a thought the other day about the mannequin. What if the Chinese had been developing synth tech pre war? Not all of the mannequin would be alive but a shipment of spy robots may have been sent over on a cargo ship to be sent to various locations as spies in plain sight and maybe even have a sleeper agent aspect that could activate them as combatants.
And some just malfunction and sprung to life briefly causing unexplained incidents like being located and very bizarre locations, even if Raiders decided to move them around, evidence seeming to pointing them committing brutal murders, and responsible for sinking a ship near Far Harbor.
@@ajflink they wouldn't have had any input since the war unless there was outside intervention. Sounds like a missed quest line opportunity that grants Chinese stealth armor at the end.
Could be one of the couple of chinese radio signals that you pick up throughout the games that feed the information back and is on loop. Deteriorating over time, starts sending weird signals that cause the especially weird scenes. I dig this a lot! @Loreweavver
Highly unlikely, due to one major factor. Liberty Prime himself was considered a failed project for his time, Pre-War. It was only during the events of Fallout 3 that Doctor Li managed to solve the massive problem of Prime's power consumption needs that the project was later salvaged and ultimately successful.
I mean the pulse gun or whatever could be used against stealth if it wanted to be realistic. Active camp would probably have a lot of computer components. Considering that active camouflage is impossible today
The chinese power armor in 76 has a description stating it is well onpar with T-45 and its was to late to effect the war wich i like the idea of cause it could imply they captured a frame or two
I feel like it makes the most sense for it to be retro-fit T-45. Keep the frame, and up-armor it, or modify the armor and gear to be more compatible with your tech. Maybe they actually captured some T-51 sets, but couldnt meet the power demand? It could also be made by infiltrators: an attempt to go toe-toe with American Power armor, or more likely: provide an edge over the softer targets in NBC gear.
@@Robb1977 im assuming they had captured maybe some T51 and T45 but the chinese armor seems to be a design they made for the power armor frames wich makes sense for them to put together there own suit with there own tech
@@silverbloodborne9495 honestly the nukes prolly didnt touch the chinese power armor and more likely the chinese suits are simply captured frames with theyre own armor prolly used to help give a edge to the chinese
The NCR's Desert Ranger combat armor was "A USMC-issued armor boasting a desert camouflage pattern from the same manufacturer as the L.A.P.D. riot armor, worn with a matching military helmet with built-in low light optics, a combination infrared/white light lamp and gas mask, an olive green duster and a pair of worn-out khaki pants."
Ranger armour is pre-war in nature. It's riot police armour, a neat detail on the 76 version is on the chest you see CPD (Charleston police department) instead of LAPD
Chinese Power Armor could like Germany making the MP 3008 which was a German last ditch submachine gun manufactured towards the end of World War II in early 1945. The weapon was blatantly a rip off Sten Mk II submachine gun, except for its vertical magazine; some had additional pistol grips. Essentially they took the most basic no frills SMG design made by Britain and copied it virtually identically, bar a few minor alterations. It was reverse engineering from captured Stens. I imagine a lab in China with captured T-45s and 51s, all dismantled.
In Fallout 4, in the beginning if you see the news in the TV they say that the front in China is paralized and becamo in a stalemate. Maybe the chinese designed new weapons to counter the americans.
Fallout China should be an official DLC for FO4. After completing Here Be Monsters Nate could return to the submarine and be informed by Zhao that he's ready to go back to China but needs help operating the sub. Gameplay could be on an island contested by three factions. The Red Guards could be the Chinese counterpart to the NCR, trying to recreate communism under the leadership of a prewar ghoul general. The Imperial Bannermen could be a decadent alliance of slavers and raiders under the leadership of an archaeologist who want to reshape China in the image of the ancient Qin dynasty, like Caesar's legion in the Mojave. The Mohists could be a more altruistic faction similar to the followers of the apocalypse or minutemen, trying to keep the farming communities independent from both the communists and the imperials. There could be intelligent panda yao guai, American military robots gone berserk, shaolin monks who can defeat enemies with a single punch, crocodile deathclaws, giant grasshoppers, yak brahmins, and a Brotherhood-like all-ghoul faction with access to crimson dragoon stealth armor, a stockpile of undetonated nukes, and the codes to reactivate the Chinese giant robot and use it to destroy either the red guards, bannermen or both
Well, liberty prime was a mothballed resource intensive failure that was a poor fit for the canonical resource war. As such, the giant robot was put in cold storage, and assets diverted to more sustainable assets like power armour. Liberty prime was only ever deployed by the brotherhood of steel, who recovered the non functional machine and completed its manufacture years after the fact. In effect, liberty prime was really more of a propaganda tool than a military asset. Given that in lore, the Chinese were even more desperate for fuel than even the Americans, they were less well suited to deploy technological material to the battlfield than they were to utilise intelligence & man power assets. Given the nature of the conflict that is actually a more advantageous place to be in strategically, if not tatically. It might even be the inspiration behind ceasars choice to deploy melee units in new Vegas (although in that case its definately a mistake. Different conflict, differentsituations etc.) As such It would take a major retcon to make giant Chinese robots and powered armour more than American propoganda designed to stir up fear of the red menace in the american population at home. (Inkeeping with the franchises persistant social engineering themes) More practically, the Chinese are more effective within the setting if they aren't dependent on resource intensive weaponry, putting additional logistical burden on their deployments. Hypothetically long term projections by the Americans might well have even predicted a first strike nuclear escalation was their only chance for victory long term as their own resource intensive military became increasingly starved of resources whilst the chinese maintained the same level of operational efficiency. In short if any sides strategy revolved around resource driven experimental robotic assets and they ran out of fuel? broke down, or were otherwise immobilised? Pack it up, boys. Offensives over. Try not to get captured. Big robots and vehicals were technologically possible within the setting but ultimately impractical. The US recognised this and put prime on ice. I imagine that the Chinese would to. That being said fallout is leaning more rustpunk fantasy and less post apocalypse sci-fi with every release so expect to see a nonsense rule of cool, rock em sock em retconne next dlc I guess. 🤔
There were notes in the 76 moma dolce spy base suggesting they were working on power armor as a local effort. Wasn't really hard to get us power armor since you have both the garaham moning company and that one smelter both doing power armors based on 45 abd 51 respectively. Explains why the chinese armor is fully compatible with american frames. It's just a reakin, literally.
Warmachine can also mean "military industrial complex" - so a phrase "their warmachine is mobilising lets prepare ours" can literally mean - lets ramp up our own military industrial complex mening lets ramp up our own economy into wartime economy. On top of that china was somewhat behind in terms of robotics in comparison to the USA - so i would assume they were not capable of making that advanced robotics - heck they were terrified of the smaller US robots on the battlefield because that was a problem that was taking a lot of heavy weapons to deal with and if their communist gov was anything similiar to our own contemporary communist china then i bet the will to make a giant robot was there but they lacked the means and know-how to do so.
I need to find it but I recall having a DM with the designer of the communist PA, I found my old post sharing what they said, but not my screencap yet. “The concept artist for the t-65 and many other wastelanders objects designed it for the expansion. It’s a modified blueprint for the excavator suit factory you use in one of the quests, and it wasn’t finished in time to be used on the commander. It went over several revisions, including one that had the hat built onto the helmet, a more obviously excavator one, and a liberator inspired look- possibly made from Excavators/Liberator parts.”
Enjoy the scoop, I don’t think I’ve ever shared this screencap before. The topic of the remnants interests me, which is why I watched this vid. Figured I’d share my relevant evidence. media.discordapp.net/attachments/879527280324522044/1222593606217367654/IMG_9212.png
The fo76 sim theory came out of nowhere, I've never heard that till now and i personally disagree. I think the ranger armor is probably just a cosmetic but in lore I'd say the reason would probably be that the NCR ranger armor is probably based off or actual suits if pre war military armor that we just haven't seen before the NCR uses it
It's an idea that's been circulating since early after 76 released. I just expanded on it a bit in regards to this topic. It's *probably* not what's actually happening, or at least won't ever be confirmed if it is, but it's fun to consider.
@@FalloutLorecast I think it's definitely a fun theory, I was just surprised as this was my first time hearing it ever. I don't personally subscribe to it but it's definitely an interesting idea
Numerous fallout 76 cosmetics are stated to be non canon by the devs, the chinese power armor, the dolphin power armor, the fucking armor that turns you into a zetan, the liberty prime armor. safe to say the ncr ranger armor is just a bonus cash shop item for subbing to the game, as far as I'm aware the NCR ranger armor, and it's cosmetic skin is in the same boat as those armors, until we see an non camp-companion npc sporting them.
I don't think there is any lore reason other then your personal head canon why your Appalachian vault dweller is wearing it, but its more plausible then alot of the other armors.
There's graffiti in the Watoga high school about how nothing is real. Also, the Enclave guy who ran the bunker before everyone died claims everything is a simulation as justification to activate nukes.
The thing about power armor and Liberty Prime himself is they were massive energy hogs. Both require fusion reactions to run. Did China have fusion reactors at the time of the Sino-American war?
It's entirely possible that they might have reverse-engineered a fusion reactor. We know the Chinese had hundreds, possibly even thousands, of undercover agents in the US. The Shi from 1, L.O.B. Enterprises in 3, Mama Dolce's in 3 and 4, spies in Point Lookout in 3... So many spies everywhere, it's a mathematical certainty they had to have stolen fusion tech at some point.
22:40 as far as i know it's a standard military thing to make a counter-measure to a specialized weapon, so that in case it's intercepted by an enemy it can be neutralized.
Finally someone is talking about the thumbnail robot. I have been asking about this in multiple channels and Reddits and no one wanted to even acknowledge it.
If you look at how the Liberty prime kills a Behemoth he snaps it neck by grabbing it, maybe the chinese robots where a little smaller, and Liberty prime recognized the behemoth as one of those robots.
Dude its not literal, it's propganda. "they're building their war machine" it's a figurative term, they arent building a literal robot. Also dude, 76 cosmetics arent canon unless they appear on an NPC in game.
EMP would potentially disable stealth as well, given the prevalence of robots in the fallout lore it can be assumed that their main forces might also be accompanied by robots though it might seem their main focus was on small electronics to augment their ground troops.
I mean I feel as though some sort of military terminal would reveal china having more advanced robots since high command would likely have to account for it when developing strategies against it, especially in fallout 3 where we can read classified info out of pentagon terminals.
Ok ok we get china loves some stuff but can some explain to me WHY THE CHINESE LOVE GIVING THREE EYES SPECIFICALLY TO LITERALLY ANYTHING ROBOTIC POWER ARMOR,CHINESE LIBERTY PRIME, AND THAT ONE IMAGE AT 3:31
I can agree with you. Simulation left it out or was just a training exercise, not truly knowing Chinese abilities. I always thought that if the Chinese had stealth tech, submarines… they were as advanced or more. maybe there is war relics in Alaska you just don’t really see Alaska. We don’t see their true might on American soil due to the bombs dropping before they made landfall.
I mean yeah that’s what propaganda is if they population believes the enemy has one ol even if they don’t then why don’t we have one to defend ourselves with I highly doubt they have their own version of liberty prime but it would be cool to learn more about the Chinese either a dlc or hell we have expeditions in 76 do that
10:51 time would play a major role in how items and sets of items end up in certain places across the wastes. Just because we get the riot armour in 76 doesn't mean that it will stay in that area. There are people roaming the wasteland, trading and dying and scavenging all the time, so it is possible that certain items have made themselves a way to Appalachia even with how close the bombs were in time( a few decades) its still possible, i highly doupt that the entire american land is irradiated, there would have to be pockets of either safe or non safe zones to travel through, it would be very difficult but still possible with the right equipment
16:00 I would also like to point out that the power armour used in Alaska was the same models we use in Fallout 3 and NV, the bigger ones in fallout 4 came after, I think 3 and NV armour was more of a stop gap, sort of like finding armour prices and using them in tandem with normal clothing, like those raiders who used robot parts, this could potentially full under the non Canon part of fallout, but I personally think it fits, why else the change
The release of Chinese power armor whether it is Canon or not shows you some of their capability, if it was introduced by then it was probably in limited quantities and more towards the end of the war. But lets actually be honest the Chinese stealth suit technology-wise is extremely advanced and probably extremely expensive. As a matter of fact America's stealth boy technologies, even the mark 3 version were nowhere near its level of sophistication. To me if they are capable of manufacturing these things then they are capable of manufacturing a liberty prime rip-off, it would just be a matter of being willing to spend the money. They certainly have a larger manufacturing capability at least when it comes to manpower. So they should be able to build things relatively quickly. Fallout 76 is also definitely canon, with all of its storyline aspects along with lore friendly material are canon. There is several non-canon edition still like the NCR uniform for role-playing reasons but those are to be taken as such
i always assumed the Pulse Pistol was meant to be used on Americas own Power armour units if they went Rogue by pacifying the user so they could reclaim the armour in good condition
I'd imagine they used the pulse weapons to disable turret bunkers like the ones you saw in the anchorage DLC. Might also disable the cloaking fields of the stealth suits to help combat against dragoons. The Us Government might have even made them in case an attempted military coup by Rob-co was ever a concern. House always did have big goals afterall, he was aiming to succeed in interstellar travel which the enclave (former US govt.) failed to achieve. Who knows for real?, They might have been used in case a targeting sensor on a gutsy, assaultron or sentrybot got damaged in the field, so they could just pop it once to disable it.
Actually the t51 has shielding from pulse weaponry and is able to survive an EMP from a nuclear bomb as where the t45 is not. Probably Liberty prime has that same shielding. I can't imagine they would make such an obvious oversight as in casing it in a Faraday cage. However, as as usual the communications array would probably be subjectable to a pulse weapon. But it may be very well possible for them to make a communications array that doesn't fry in the fallout universe. Who knows
Considering how difficult it was for the US to build Liberty Prime I doubt the Chinese had the tech or even the resources to build anything close to that so I believe the poster isn’t showing a giant robot but a Chinese equivalent to an Assaultron or Sentry bot, this would also explain why the power armor looks like it does as it’s easier to repurpose a sentry bot sized head into a power armor helmet than the head of a 40ft tall robot
the term "war machine" was commonly used to describe the manufacturing and mobilization of the army units themselves, I.e infantry, airforce, armored divisions and so on. I think that that is the more likely "war machine" the poster is talking about rather than them having their own version(s) of liberty prime. The illustration is part of that propaganda to further drive home the importance of fighting off the Chinese invasion of Alaska
Look at it this way (if you want Chinese PA in the Great War). USA = High production numbers of high quality kit China = Insanely high production numbers of terrible quality "knock off" kit. 200 years down the line, small numbers of US PA are still fundamentally sound/functional, the Chinese PA was scrap over a century ago...and their "Collectivity Prime" prototypes never moved one inch due to various technical difficulties...just piles rusted low quality metal now, completely unrecognisable as what they once were. You can have your perfectly preserved pie and eat it.👍
But notice the food from Pre War era give radiation? I assumed FO which is based on 1950 Americana used alot harmful chemicals (like Asbestos or DDT) without knowing it was actually harmful at the time. So the Fancy Lad Snack probably had alot of preservatives
i disagree, yeah the chinese power armor is trash but also they were the first ones they made also the US firsts power armor were trash, why do you think their numbers are 45 51 60 and end with X? the 45 was first succesful power armor made by the US the previous models were trash, and the X-01 was final model, X-02 was an better version but same model of the X-01, if the war didnt with a nuclear apocalypse i think the chinese would have won, mainly for the spies in DC
7:38 before I hear the rest. Maybe a possible explanation is that the Chinese had expanded their influence into the ruins of Europe and the Middle East(by a certain point they were no longer in the game right after a war). And they say war is the mother of invention, what if China being actually connected to the two by a landmass(I mean ignore for a second that asia and Europe are different continents. And look at them as one massive land mass). Who’s going to argue with the Chinese army if they decided to pick over the remains? No one that’s who. Many European countries in our world are known for their mechanical engineering knowledge. The Germans, the British and the French may have had something brewing that fallout hasn’t covered. Once they fall into ruins, it’d be easy for China to quietly move in and take the best stuff. Maybe the reason America knows what these giant robots look like is they were taken from the remains of Europe. The Middle East may have also been developing things, maybe the war between the two was similar to the war between China and America where one side favoured overwhelming power while the other favoured stealth tactics. Again this maybe only a guess and I’m meaning no disrespect to any country I named. But with oil being a limited resource in the fallout world any technology advantage the Chinese could have gained is just common sense.
The very little we know about Fallout: Elite shows that we would have went to China due to a "New nuclear weapon". Most likely something like a giant machine or something else, but definitely not just another nuke.
well i mean they have liberty prime power armor in the game so the Chinese power armor might be like that one but the Chinese liberty prime, because if you compare the poster and the power armor they look similar.
I wouldn't put it past them to reuse some of these designs if we get a Fallout in China or are invaded by them on a larger scale, etc. One dev claimed we shouldn't dig too deeply into Creation Club and Atom Store items, though, they're really just for fun and not indicative of anything. I believe questioned the validity and reason for continuity, lore and canon, which is a retarded question for a writer in a game company that makes signle-player experiences to ask, so maybe don't listen to what he has to say at all?
It makes more sense imo to have the Chinese robots be power armour sized rather than comparable to Liberty Prime. It was likely that after encountering American power armour the PLA reasoned that given the logistics in Alaska the best counter to power armour was their own (like the German army and their OG tank programs). But since even with rushing that would take a while they moved forward a parallel robotics project that would take some of what they were making for a human-rated suit now without needing to make it safe to wear and not kill the pilot like that poor marine bastard in Halo. They'd have the benefit of field-testing components/configurations for the human rated suits and would likely end up with interchangeable parts for them as well. It also just makes sense given that Liberty Prime would've been even bigger than it was to presumably beat a massive PLA robotic legion, though that's not guaranteed as the US did try the quality over quantity approach.
The ncr armour is simple and easy to put together with wasteland scrap/armour. The Chinese power armour feels like they are suits used by Chinese forces who passed away before, during or after bombs falling. Then people repurpose the suits. Many Chinese products are similar in designs to western products so I’m not surprised the power armour looks similar lol
I think fallout should make a game where u r a spec ops soldier in Alaska and China before the bombs dropped that could have been similar to ghost recon or sum
5:50 - The point of the simulation is to PREPARE you to face the enemy - meaning it would be conuter productive to skim on the info if there were such robots - because otherwise it would be immensly demoralising to the troops if they had to face them in real combat conditions - so no if there were any giant robots or robots in general on the chineese side - they would definately include that in the simulation in order to train their troops how to deal with them otherwise you would imbue yourtroops with false sense of secutiry that would evaporate the second they meet the actual enemy - that is pointless, stupid and very dangerous thing to do. Also the invasion from china would have had the best troops and stuff aviable because they had ONE shot at this - so holding anything back that could help would be utterly stupid and counterproductive as well - it would be like going after heavy boxing leaguer with one of your hands tied behind your back. So if the chineese had robots - they would use them during that invasion and that would mean they would be included in the simulation. so yes i doubt they had anything usefull except those mobile mines.
There's was a clue for 76 been a simulation but it ended up been something else for a story not related to simulation, that been the "Nothing is Real" graffiti.
i hope fallout 76 is either a simulation or alot of it is not canon because i think its hard explain why we all of the sudden have dozens of differnt kinds of power armor that cant be found anywhere else , i would love for all this stuff to be canon but only if they find a very good way to explain stuff like this ...
I think that the propaganda poster is tied to the in-universe comic characters in the Fallout Franchise. The characters, such as Grognak the Barbarian and the Silver Shrowd formed a He-Man or early Justice Leauge style crime fighting team. One of the villains they fight is the DiE-CAPITALIST, a sentient army of Chinese war machines dead-set on destroying America. In most of their appearances, they have a TV screen for a head, that displays the word "DiE!", however, on the cover of an Awesome Tales comic, they share that exact same 3-Eyed design as the propaganda poster. I like this theory more than others, because it plays into the very real (and very weird) trend of cartoon/comic characters being used in propaganda during WW2
Liberty Prime is nice and moderately big, but he's no Gypsy Danger or real Mech. It shouldn't have been that hard to make him or that costly. Look at the cost of a Modern carrier or other large ship. Liberty Prime, if given another decade of war, would almost certain be one of very many.
Someone should make Fallout Anchorage where the brotherhood and enclave and Canadian refugees and Alaskan natives/trappers are all factions and the Chinese are there and the final battle can literally be liberty prime vs the Chinese version. Lol
Makes sense that China would respond to inteligence about Liberty prime and power armor, and push resources into covert operations to capture American Technology for their own projects. The threat of Liberty Prime invading china uncontested would be serious. Its nice that there is still room for it to have happened in the fallout universe, and we may see it in future games fighting a Red robot army.

If i remember correctly the Desert Ranger Armor is pre-war military-police armor that was simply favored by the Desert Rangers
@@YeeMacghyee of-course the pants and boots are an NCR addition they are literally Jeans and normal leather boots though based on the looks of the Riot Armor and the Ranger Armor it looks like Ranger Dusters are quite simple and cheap compared to the Duster of the Old-World Riot Armor, likely due to the original dusters falling apart from long use by the Rangers themselves and they have over time replaced them with post-war reproductions (real world reason being that the Riot gear in Lonesome Road got a lot more love)
it's literally LAPD SWAT/Riot Gear you can see it on the chestpiece of the Ranger Combat Armor

Yeah, always liked to imagine the Chinese having their own version of Liberty Prime. The FO76 Red Shift power armor skin is probably the closest we will get.
The war machine is their war economy. It's actually a fairly common saying. The German army in WW2 was often referred to as the Nazi war machine.
I know you're right but I like the idea of giant robots better
Exactly
The robot on the poster is a personification of the "Chinese war MACHINE". It doesn't mean that there is a giant Chinese robot, it was just supposed to look imposing and fit the message.
When it comes to power armour it most likely exists, the way that the US copied the stealth suits. I might remember it wrong but I think power armours were introduced to combat for the first time in Alaska but I might be wrong on this fact.
They were. First, it was the t45, and then they changed to the t51b. I'm pretty sure we were losing the war until we introduced power armor.
The Alaska campaign was to either have Power Armour or have Liberty Prime as supporting fire in the battles, and the armour finished first. That’s why Liberty Prime was decommissioned too.
@@LordDaretliberty prime was decommissioned because they couldn’t figure out a way to power it
@@gustavusadolphus2436 they would have kept going until they worked out the power issue, but the power armor finished and was deployed.
There are notes on the noma dolce plant secret base suggesting that the power armor was indeed a local effort by the communist spies.
That's some good material you provided, but the tv series revealed that vault-tec was the one that pushed the button for nuclear devastation.
even back in fallout 3, in the crater of megaton there is a vault tec nuke so since then people gussed that vault tec were the reason for the war and not that both sides pressed the button at the same time. even if we let vault tec out of the picture the US didn´t really know about the chinese in DC havin there infiltrater running around and the uboat befor the coast of boston in F4. in there mind they finally freed american soil from an invasion and now could throw everything on the chinese mainland
Holy shit. That makes a lot of sense.
Huh... I'm not done with the fallout TV series but was I accidentally onto something...?
Fallout lore usually references pop culture or real life. So, maybe you should look into if the Chinese worked on walking mechs, like the US did.

Chinese power armor looks like it used similar PA frames, and uses T-45 style steel plates but more resembles a more bulky T-51.
Probably means that maybe it was a real set of power amror but the nukes kinda made it never see the light of day

You'd think a channel called fallout lorecast would actually bother to research into the lore.
Different conflict, differentsituations etc.)
As such It would take a major retcon to make giant Chinese robots and powered armour more than American propoganda designed to stir up fear of the red menace in the american population at home. (Inkeeping with the franchises persistant social engineering themes)
More practically, the Chinese are more effective within the setting if they aren't dependent on resource intensive weaponry, putting additional logistical burden on their deployments.

So many spies everywhere, it's a mathematical certainty they had to have stolen fusion tech at some point.
considering they went after alaska almost exclusively due to there still being petrol there theres certainly a chance they didnt
22:40 as far as i know it's a standard military thing to make a counter-measure to a specialized weapon, so that in case it's intercepted by an enemy it can be neutralized.
the pulse guns could be for the stealth suits too right...wouldn't those be electrical
11:00 It’s stated in multiple games before 76 was out that the Chinese Salvaged American T-45 to make their own power armor
I don't buy it, I think Stealth Suits were the best things they had.
Finally someone is talking about the thumbnail robot. I have been asking about this in multiple channels and Reddits and no one wanted to even acknowledge it.
If you look at how the Liberty prime kills a Behemoth he snaps it neck by grabbing it, maybe the chinese robots where a little smaller, and Liberty prime recognized the behemoth as one of those robots.
i figured the pulse pistol was a 'just in case our bots go berserk' since programming in robots where wonky as hell
China didn't have fusion tech, right? Don't think functional death robots or power armor would have been combat ready.
Im just going to assume warmachine is the metaphorical "warmachine" and not referring to a specific robot/machine/weapon.
Dude its not literal, it's propganda. "they're building their war machine" it's a figurative term, they arent building a literal robot.
Also dude, 76 cosmetics arent canon unless they appear on an NPC in game.

EMP would potentially disable stealth as well, given the prevalence of robots in the fallout lore it can be assumed that their main forces might also be accompanied by robots though it might seem their main focus was on small electronics to augment their ground troops.
the modus terminal guy looks like Dale gribble
I thought it was more metaphorical with the robot being a representation of Chinese industrial power more so than a literal robot

A giant robot speaking Chinese just sounds terrifying to me.
“PLA PRIME IS ONLINE, Calculating odds of Defeat in Alaska….INCONCEIVABLE!

Is there a mod for Chinese Liberty prime?
If I remember right, F76 atom shop stuff (like the chinese power armor & etc) isn't cannon.
The anchorage sim also has comments on terminals suggesting it is some general's ego project, or worse
the term "war machine" was commonly used to describe the manufacturing and mobilization of the army units themselves, I.e infantry, airforce, armored divisions and so on.
USA = High production numbers of high quality kit
China = Insanely high production numbers of terrible quality "knock off" kit.
Wasn't the Chinese Hei Gui suit built in response to the American Power Armor?
I believe questioned the validity and reason for continuity, lore and canon, which is a retarded question for a writer in a game company that makes signle-player experiences to ask, so maybe don't listen to what he has to say at all?
as those items are mods created by people that don't always work for Bethesda
Atomic shop stuff are non canon!!
I just wanted to say this...
Scetchy! Especially since Liberty Prime was a secret project if I remember this right, especially since they didn't get it to work!
Many Chinese products are similar in designs to western products so I’m not surprised the power armour looks similar lol
the Chinese power armor was like the excavator power it never went into full production
Ive seen posters for their “war machine” around the commonwealth
I think fallout should make a game where u r a spec ops soldier in Alaska and China before the bombs dropped that could have been similar to ghost recon or sum
Well the original sentry bots were one and a half storeys tall plus this was Bethesda that put that robot in not obsidian
I always figured that it was nothing more than a huge metaphor for the "Chinese War Machine" lol
You mean the atomic shop skins or the few ones that cones with lore bhind them? Because they are two diffrent categories my friend
that title threw me through a loop. i thought you meant that china was actually trying to build something equivalent to liberty prime lol
I’ve had 1 questions since the mention of the Chinese power armor, what if (and this is what I dub it) the Chinese prime is just the power armor
Seems it was to hard to transport such big robots to Alaska
I shall call it Unity Omega
Giant robot fight!!!!
The NRC armor was just a Riot armor with a coat
I always figured those robots were just a metaphor for the Chinese war effort not actually robots
Liberty Prime, if given another decade of war, would almost certain be one of very many.
considering one of the points of divergence between the timelines in no miniaturized transistors mechs of that quality would not be possible
Compare that to like, 30 well made tanks, for the strategic benefit?
Someone should make Fallout Anchorage where the brotherhood and enclave and Canadian refugees and Alaskan natives/trappers are all factions and the Chinese are there and the final battle can literally be liberty prime vs the Chinese version. Lol
Makes sense that China would respond to inteligence about Liberty prime and power armor, and push resources into covert operations to capture American Technology for their own projects.
The threat of Liberty Prime invading china uncontested would be serious.
Its nice that there is still room for it to have happened in the fallout universe, and we may see it in future games fighting a Red robot army.
