    I'll likely play it regularly for the rest of my life. Morrowind and Oblivion have remained a constant in my life and I don't see any reason why Skyrim wouldn't continue to do the same. The same is true of the Fallout games.

      From Past to Present? Far Horizons? I ALWAYS get the urge to install Skyrim whenever I hear those in a video. It takes me back to November 30th 2011, alone for an extended week-end in my college dorm-room, playing Skyrim 14 hours/day for 4 says striaght, surviving on pepsi, cigarettes, cheap pizza and crispy strips. Now I've got lower back pain and a client with DUI due to a hearing in Court tomorrow... and i still wanna pay a visit to Bleak falls Barrow. Damn, nostalgia is a hell of drug.

    I keep coming back to Skyrim because it’s one of the best games period. The replay ability of Skyrim and the fallout games is insane. Even with the bugs these games are still better than their competition both then and now. Imagine coming out with a game today and you’re competing with a game that was made more than 10 years ago. Amazing.

    • @AVVGaming1
      @AVVGaming1  3 місяці тому +3

      And that’s the thing, they have so much freedom so that you can replay it again and again. But see a game like cyberpunk 2077 has a set story, set side quests etc. eventually you will get tired of that, cuz it’s a same experience. Elder scrolls and fallout give a lot more freedom and space to the player which makes it so it’s not too repetitive. Skyrim came out 13 years ago and it’s still not been replaced and god knows other gaming companies have tried.

    You describe it well. It's like a home. Other games make me feel to do homework. With Skyrim, I can just chill, walking the street of Whiterun, or punch Nazeem on the face. For adult like me who just get tired after work and don't have much time, Skyrim is the one close to mind whenever I pick the controller.

      Yes it’s a game you can just jump into any time and feel a sense of peace and wonder at the same time. I don’t think another game has managed to match this same concept either. So many games have copied the open world concept but then added checklists of repetitive activities whereas Skyrim has a world just as big but with none of that stuff. The only stressful thing is seeing Nazeem lol

    Of all the things Skyrim did well at or failed at, they created a world that you want to experience and feel a part of. That's the biggest reason that Skyrim is so good because if you think about it, none of the quests are so fantastic that you'd want to replay them over and over. But the world itself is so fascinating and easy to get into that you can just replay it over and over.

    • @AVVGaming1
      @AVVGaming1  3 місяці тому +3

      Absolutely! That’s exactly what I mean. When you go into Skyrim, you’re in that world and there is no other like it. If someone said they wanted the exact same experience as they had in Skyrim, you couldn’t really give an exact alternative. You could give games that are similar but not the same. Skyrim is one of the greatest gaming worlds ever built.

    I’m pretty lucky, I accidentally discovered it when I was looking for a game to play when Skyrim came out. The dude at game stop recommended it to me and I said “why not”. Got it home. Opened it up. Started playing ….. I don’t think I came out my room for days. Literally my so summer was in the house.
    I “grew out of it” when ESO came out. Then work, adulting, relationships friends and family took priority so during my down time I just watch lore videos.
    BUT- recently I’ve been back into gaming and I picked up the anniversary edition for PS5. Added mods and it’s been like a whole new world. I never actually completed the game. So I’ve been discovering new things and it’s been feeling like the first time. Especially since it’s been forever.

Some games I feel like I need to play it from the beginning and not lost the flow, but Skyrim I can dip in and out as and when I feel like it! Switch is such a good console! To me skyrim has always had a feeling of comfort and coziness it helps me relax and calm myself after a hard day, it's like comfort food.
    It's also a really immersive game, I mean sure it has plenty of bugs that can take you out of it but when it's working you really can get lost in it. I've had moments where I though I'll just play for an hour or so, but then I look up it's dark outside I forgot to eat drink or go to the bathroom and it's now the middle of the night.
    I know that a common complaint about skyrim is it's very shallow and very easy, and yeah that's true. But not every game needs to have the depth and difficulty of dark souls. Not every game needs to challenge you.

    • @AVVGaming1
      @AVVGaming1  3 місяці тому +4

      I think it’s the ultimate game just to dip into and spend some time. The formula, however they did it, is like you said comfort food. You can eat that food forever once a week. It just got the formula really balanced. Like oblivion and morrowind are both special games, but Skyrim is special for different reasons. As for the shallow comment, yes it’s not that in depth in terms of RPG or writing etc compared to say morrowind, but it excels in other ways. It’s a game that just happened to appear with magic attached. It’s one of those games that come out once every decade or less where everything just aligned and perfection was the outcome. I’m still playing it today, and will continue to do so. I’ve played it in VR, switch, ps3, PC etc and I could play it again today as a new playthrough and it would never feel tedious or over played.

I feel like they need to bring it back as games like BG3 and KCD have shown there is a demand for it. They just need to add more in, it doesn’t have to be as in-depth as other more detailed games but I’d like it a bit more in-depth than it was in Skyrim.

    its mods, without mods i would've never even touched this game, the combat sucks, the story is boring, and they retconned so much of the lore, making it more boring as they were trying to copy game of throne instead of doing their own thing. it seems like most fans who are interested in the lore are only really interested in the lore written by michael kirkbride, who stopped writing lore for the game 17 years ago

      They need new writers for sure! Honestly it’s Been lacking so bad in Bethesda games for a while now. Skyrim and Fallout 4 really shows the lack of good writing and then Starfield was the moment we just couldn’t pretend anymore. They need a new writing team for sure.

      Yes I guess they could. But starfield despite being big, didn’t have any of the hand crafted content. They didn’t have hand crafted dungeons etc. on Skyrim if you find a new dungeon it’s a new experience to any of dungeon you’ve found. In starfield, you could explore for hours and there’s no guarantee you’ll find something new. That to me was the main problem with starfield.

    I played it finished main questline, got overwhelmed by side quests with those repetitive underground cave, ruins etc. I hate that Skyrim is so big and beautiful but over 90% of the quests took place in repetitive underground. I pretty much like the main quest, it's epic! But it felt so much shorter than I expected imo, even felt shorter than Gears of War Ultimate Edition. They should make mian quest of next Elder Scrolls 6 more longer like 40 hours+. Skyrim's felt like 10 hours. One side quest I absolutely can't forget is "A night to remember" that's so satisfying, all locations are great and rewarding, that's the type of quests next Elder Scrolls need. I didn't like dark brotherhood, thrives guild coz stealth is a joke in this game. Talking about civil war, I didn't like the motives and story, just enjoyed those battles. And companion and college of winterhold quests were fun. Dragonborn dlc is okay, I only played main quest, haven't played dawngaurd yet. Overall I absolutely love the world, ambience, music, epic main quest (which was short) of Skyrim. But feel like Skyrim is under utilised, why all side quests taking place in repetitive underground locations while you have this large open world, with rivers, mountains and forests. Hope next Elder Scrolls don't repeat what Skyrim did.

    • @AVVGaming1
      @AVVGaming1  3 місяці тому +1

      Yes and it was definitely over used. You’re a thief: go into those old tombs and fight draugr. You’re an assassin: go into those old tombs and fight draugr. You’re a mage guild student: go into those old ruins…etc. it’s very repetitive on the quests but I think for 2011 that was okay because we didn’t expect each quest to be super detailed. And then Witcher 3 came out and changed that. I did a video on this called “elder scrolls 6 why we need to wait” that you might want to check out as it talks a lot about this

    I don’t like Skyrim anymore. I got bored, give me the new TES game and bring back more advanced RPG elements. Todd Howard was who brought back Bethesda from bankruptcy with Morrowind which was one of the biggest leap in Open World RPG gaming and I want a similar leap after Skyrim because Skyrim was good and I threw it into the trash when they announced Special Edition because I felt they fd up with the fan base. The new TES need a better fight system and better RPG system a better story and a more advanced graphics engine which will give us no loading screen. I’m rooting for Bethesda because after Starfield they really have to make something as great as Morrowind was back then.
