I have all the best USB microphones, I collect them. I like most of them, but a couple of them I never use. After buying the Samson G-Track Pro I feel like packing away all my other microphones in the attic. I can't imagine needing a better sounding microphone for my home studio recordings. It's amazing, and I've been using it exclusively since I purchased it.
My favorite hack for raising up the G-Track Pro (or, for less enlightened users, the Yeti :^)) is to set it on top of a round plastic case that comes with a spindle of blank DVD or CD disks. The shape and size are perfect (choose a 25- or 50-disk set, depending on your height and posture), it's convenient, it even has a little ridge around the top edge to keep the mic from sliding off, and it won't scratch your desk.
Hi! May I know how's your experience with the Samson G Track Pro so far? I'm planning to buy it for song recordings with accompaniment, would you recommend it if ever? Thanks!
I bought the Q2U from your recommendation and it's been a night-and-day compared to my built-in HyperX Cloud II headset mic, so glad to see a potential upgrade for the future!
This is the Mic I have that I've been using for all of my streams and videos for almost a year now and I have loved it. Have a yeti as well but I actually like the sound of my Samson G-Track better. Gives a lot more clarity to my voice versus the Yeti. And it stays in place better as well. Excellent review! I highly recommend this Mic as well!

@@mariecarolainefamero2807 I have loved mine so far, still use it almost daily and it has performed well. I have used it for some light vocals and guitar once for a podcast but that has been my only use for music with it so I can't attest to it always being good forusic. But I will say my experience with it for the live performance was good, it sounded clear and didn't clip out on the louder bits. But it has a lot to do with the setup as well. I would say overall yes, I would still reccomend it, and it was about $20 cheaper than I had paid for mine the last time I seen it at Best Buy, so that's another plus. I will say I did have an issue once a few months ago with the mute button not working once when I muted myself but after unplugging it and reconnecting, it worked correctly again and I have yet to have that happen again since.
Listen. I used many usb mics, own many of them. You won't be sad with the blue yeti. The Samson to me Youngs little warmer and clearer? However the yeti was already warm, so depends on what you like. For some the Samson will be too warm.
I have the G Track Pro and agree it is an amazing mic especially when you consider the price and the fact you can two track a vocal and instrument without the need for a USB interface. It’s truly amazing, I also have the new Samson CL8a and wow - even better vocal quality (but needs a USB interface) and also more $. Samson makes some quality products and these are excellent examples.

Just when you mentioned the breathing away from the mic, Chocolate Rain already popped in my brain, then you right away started singing it, lmao. Great mic, as expected from Samson.
Lately I have changed the mic positioning to aim more at the region between the mouth and the upper chest - then not only breaths are minimized, but also mouth clicks which I produce aplenty because of my strange Neanderthal jaw shape. The top end is reduced so if I try to compensate with EQ, the noise may be too enhanced, so I'd rather reduce low mids to increase clarity. This is the mic positioning used on movie sets with shotgun mics, so maybe it's better to equip oneself with a more directional mic anyway, than a standard cardio
so, actually this microphone has a built-in audio interface which allows you to input both vocal and instrument into your computer, is my understanding correct?
Yeah one interesting thing is.. Amazon wants me to pay pretty much the amount I'm paying for the microphone JUST TO DELIVER it and import it into my country which I really find annoying
Hi! May I know how's your experience with the Samson G Track Pro so far? I'm planning to buy it for song recordings with accompaniment, would you recommend it if ever? Thanks!
Im interested in the mic and instrument input to record vocals and guitar/ukulele. How do you feel about this mic since your initial review? I currently use a Shure MV88 for my IPhone 11 and Ipad 2019(non-pro) with Garage Band as I decided to record more. I’m a beginner at recording gear. Thank you and very good review on the Samson mic.
I made for the pc and cabinet with a door & the inside has acoustic foam and the back is open. and now the Samson G-Track Pro does not pick up the PC sounds
I own the Yeti Pro and many are not aware of its existence and it's good. However it's a condenser Mic and lately I'm looking the other way towards dynamics.
@@EposVox That's awesome, I hope that they last you longer. Thanks for the time to reply. Great video by the way. I'll get this over the Yeti when I need a new microphone.

You were mentioning the connection on the Yeti... I have the Yeti Pro and I use XLR connected to my pre and have zero issues with connectivity. So is your Yeti not the pro model?
I am not sure if it is the microphone(s) or your editing skills, but who cares? I would gladly listen to you saying anything just because you sound amazing! Icing on the cake with that Ring verse. Thank you for this review and your awesomeness. 💖🦋
I use the yeti with a boom arm, but you can hear a lot of background noise. Is there any way to reduce that without post editing (mostly for livestreams)?
Turn both hardware and software gain minimum, then get the mic's side input area close to your face (like, within 3 inches) and start recording (e.g. with audacity) and talking into your mic with the voice level you intend to have when using the mic. Watch the levels and slowly increase the software gain until it's between -12db and -6db. This will give you the best "pre-filter" outcome. For me this gets rid of my desktop sounds almost entirely and the rest is easy to remove using a noise removal filter without messing up the audio too much.
So I understand you recommend I get a dynamic mic for basically gaming, streaming and discord... Interesting - coming from a Samson Meteor mic it did actually pick up a lot of background, prompting me to sometimes push to talk. I am a bit of a Samson fanboy simply cos brand loyalty; it was my first proper mic and it was a good mic. I guess I just bought the wrong type for my uses.
The HyperX is probably an easier/better overall solution for streamers, that built-in limiter is sick. But for general voiceover, podcasting, recording, etc. this mic definitely beats it.
Looks like the Beyerdynamic DT990 Premiums. Good headphones. They also sell a "Pro" model. I'd recommend the Premium over the Pro model, less clamping force and more comfortable.
David Fletcher oh, okay. A Samson rep replied on the Best Buy product page saying it wasn’t designed to work that way but there probably is a way around it. I am using mine on PC so I’m good. Glad you figured it out though.
For some or other reason, you set the focus point of your camera too shallow.... So, when you downscale from 4K -> 1080 -> 720 / 480 etc. It looks as if the mic is out of focus, as well as your face. A mic arm/stand is like $20. If you can't afford that with your mic, buy a cheaper mic (which is better anyway) instead of wasting your money on a Yeti.

Those kind of settings really need to be tweaked per microphone, per environment, per speaker. "Templates" wouldn't work too well

Obs has good tools like a noise gate for just that, but the yeti just picks up a ton of noise anyway so it would take a bit of work
