- Today I review the Rode NT-USB Mini, a cardioid usb condenser microphone, and I compare it to the Samson Q2u, Blue Yeti Nano, Audio Technica AT2020, Rode Podmic, Blue Yeti, Samson G-Track pro, Rode NT-USB, Rode Video Mic NTG, and the Rode NT1. This mic offers a smooth mid forward sound with a somewhat crisp top end that’s not overbearing.

Finding the perfect mic is very difficult. What are you currently using? What do you not like about the microphone you’re currently using? What would you like your next microphone to improve upon? What do you want the mic to sound like?
@@Podcastage I'm using a generic mic neewer 800, my room aren't treated, I live in a front of a main Street. My actual mic capt a lot of echo and noise. I just want a mic that can solve that.. I will use the mic around of 10cm of distance. I eventually do colaborations in my channel.

@@elkoalah sounds like you would be better off with a dynamic mic than a condensor, unless you are considering getting your room treated, my knowledge isnt anywhere near bandrews but if youre looking for a budget option, the Behringer Ultravoice XM8500 is a great choice. The samson Q2U is even better but more expensive.

(I don't have too much base in my voice, but I still want them for sounding melodious, and I have quite good mid-range and some thin high pitch, which many mics don't handle well and sound harsh don't want to sound nasaly either. So what would be your suggestion for a budget good quality natural sounding USB mic ?)

I've been recommending NT-USB Mini to people as one of the great starter mics for live streaming and now I have a video to link with my recommendation. Still trying to find a dynamic, perhaps super cardioid, USB mic to recommend for those who have acoustically untreated rooms or Cherry MX Blues.. :)

Thanks a lot for your reviews. As to your question, I currently use Samson Q2U as my mics for podcasting and it just fits everything I need for recording and producing heavy conversations in ordinary space.

Since I buy microphones based solely on the packaging so that my purchasing decision isn't distracted by how they sound, I'm primarily interested in reviews about mic boxes - can you do a comparison of them that evaluates their qualities along with close mic'ing of how the boxes sound when striking the wall and floor?

Question: what do you recommend if I need a microphone for dubbing? My room is not so soundproofed unfortunately. Thanks in advance
Start with acoustic treatment. You don't need hundreds of dollars for acoustic foam panels. Go to a hardware store. Buy a few meters of PVC pipe and some 90 degree joiners (4 for each panel you intend to make.) Go to a dollar store and buy a couple of six packs of scissor clamps. (8 for each panel) Cut the PVC pipe into roughly 1.8m to 2m lengths. Use the 90 degree joins to make squares. Use the clips to attack blankets to the PVC frames, and stand these panels up against your walls. This will massively reduce reflection and give you much flatter recording environment. I wish more content creators would use this simple design and sort out that ugly room noise that makes them sound so unprofessional. A good mic in a bad room still sounds bad.

The Samson G-Track pro was a different sound , it caught my attention. The Audio Technica At2020 is real nice. i been useing for 5 years now and still making the extra cash with it. Great vlog.
