    It's basically like a pick-your-own-legendary. The first three tiers are like the kinds of affixes you'd get, and the last tier is like the legendary aspects you'd get.

Imagine with Overload, legendary to make wolfs do lightning damge and other legendary to make wolves into werewolves. With druid and pets do lightning damage, thats alot of hits to proc the static discharge.

    Max spirit gets very powerful endgame with all the buffs for when you’re above 50%. The restore 10 spirit is going to be amazing imo. It’s when dealing damage so if it’s every tic of poison has a 15% chance then you may get to spam some abilities like lightning strike.

    A couple things here: the 10 extra mana is pretty huge for lightning storm and keeping it going. The whole point is to keep the larger build up going. I think you have 4 seconds before it stops being the larger storm. I was able to keep that up 100% of the time for ashava. Next: there are two legendary rings for lightning that are huge. One turns enemies into a lightning rod. The other creates lightning crackles on the ground. These two rings on top of all the other lightning bolts from storm and skills, it'll fool up the screen with lightning bolts pretty quick. Second- there is a staff that creates a tornado when hurricane hits. So that cool down to the ultimate will happen pretty damn fast. Not only that, cataclysm comes with lightning and tornadoes that follow you. I was able to do massive ashava damage the first time keeping him in the screen. Each of them with a chance to proc lighting rod and bolts. You take the node at the end that gives you mana on hit with nature skills and you are filled all day long. Each of them with a chance to immobilize... That lucky hit stacks up quick when they're are hundreds of them a minute

    I see many people are not happy with the current stage of the Druid class. So let me say this. One of the top Diablo players and theory crafters the youtuber Wudijo, predicted that the Druid will be the best , or slightly second to Barbarian late game in terms of damage and survive ability, when we have our builds completed with skills, paragon points and items. And I think I agree with him. People just trash talking on Druid, mostly because of 3 things. The beta early melee leveling difficulties, the famous 17 damage meme, and the nonstop whining from some of the content creators like Quin69 and Asmongold how bad the Druid is. That's it! The people are not taking into account this is just the beta and by far not the complete picture of how our characters will look like once we enter the end game.

    Oof, Packleader just seems like too many layers. First, it needs to be a crit, which is a percentage chance. Then that crit also needs to be a Lucky Hit, it's own percentage chance. And even if you manage to get the crit and the lucky hit on the same attack, it's then only a 20% chance of happening. That's a percent of a percent of a percent chance to reset companion skill actions. That feels like it'd happen so infrequently that you'd hardly notice it when it procs, and unless you're already on top of using companion skills the moment they come off cooldown, it might proc when said skill isn't even on cooldown. Feels far, far too unreliable compared to the maybe less "flashy" but always active buffs.
    3% heal on every crit feels like it could go a long way for survivability, especially for a werewolf build that's also using the crit chance boost from Eagle. Broadly speaking, werebear seems focused on Fortify and survivability, while werewolf seems a lot more focused on things like crits and poison. So a werewolf or nature magic druid could get some good mileage out of that. I know back in the open beta when I tried doing a werewolf build, survivability was my biggest issue, only really solved once I got a legendary that turned my wolves into werewolves, which made them tougher and more effectively seemed to take the pressure off of me.
    I'm overall iffy about the "Lucky Hit" mechanic, as it's not "something cool happens on a lucky it", it's "something cool might happen on a lucky hit". It's a percent of a percent, which means the actual odds of triggering a lucky hit effect on any attack is lower than it looks by the numbers, especially if there are other stipulations for something to happen on the Lucky Hit, like the aforementioned critical hit.

    • @carthh_
      @carthh_  Рік тому

      There is a Barbarian Legendary item that gives you a chance on the same citeria to spawn a Ancient using the same skill, and that seems kinda bad on paper, but during Server Slam, i played with a friend who got that drop, and using Whirlwind, that proc was quite frequent, more than it would suggest on paper, so i guess this will be fine.

    • @Yelgis

      Not how lucky hit works. The up to language is only to account for the lucky hit modifier of skills. A skill with 100% lucky hit, would have 20% to proc packleader on a crit. A skill with 50% lucky hit would have a 10% chance to proc packleader on a crit. There is no third layer of randomness. Lucky hit skills are worded with the up to language, because that is the maximum chance for the condition to happen depending on the lucky hit modifier of the skill being checked for the lucky hit mechanic.
      For example with the Druid, Claw has a 50% lucky hit chance modifier, whereas Tornado has an 8% modifier. That means for Packleader there would be a 10% chance to proc it with Claw on a crit and only a 1.6% chance to proc it on a Tornado crit assuming no lucky hit bonuses on gear. But tornado can hit the same enemy multiple times and hit multiple enemies per cast multiple times. Lucky hit is designed in a way the normalizes the chance for it to happen across skills. Skills that hit faster or more times or more enemies per cast have lower lucky hit chance due to their lucky hit modifier. It is designed this way to make sure that fast or multihit skills are not the only options for lucky hit focused builds.

    • @justinsinke2088
      @justinsinke2088 Рік тому

      @@Yelgis Hmm...you make a compelling explanation on wording I had overlooked. The "up to", which I seem to have glossed over not understanding why it was worded like that, is very important. I appreciate the full explanation, as that'll change the way I judge Lucky Hit in building.

    Packleader is a noob trap. You have a percentage chance to get a crit, then if you crit you get a certain percentage chance for that crit to be a lucky hit, and finally if you get extremely lucky to pass those first two checks, 20% of those lucky crits that pass will proc the boon. A percentage of a percentage of a percentage is a very very small number. You will almost never see this proc, even if when of the checks is a guarantee to proc it is still extremely low

    • @Yelgis
      @Yelgis Рік тому

      That is not how lucky hit works. You are adding one extra check there that doesn't exist. It is only a chance to crit and a chance to lucky hit. The up to language with lucky hit is to take into account the base lucky hit chance each skill has, so the up to 20% chance in the description is the maximum lucky hit chance. This is modified by your lucky hit chance increase on gear/passives (if you have them like Sorc does) and the lucky hit chance of the skill. For example, if the Druid had no lucky hit chance from gear and was using a skill that had a 50% lucky hit chance modifier then Packleader would have 10% chance to proc on each crit. If the skill was 100% lucky hit modifier, then it would be 20% chance on crit. You are assuming their is one extra layer of randomness that isn't there.
      The up to language in lucky hit is to normalize lucky hit across skills. Skills that hit faster or more target or in more hits have lower lucky hit modifiers, whereas single target skills and slower skills have higher lucky modifiers. That means you won't only take fast skills for lucky hit and nothing else.

    I have a question about the "masochistic" spirit boon; when it says "critical strikes with shapeshifting skills", does it mean only when you ACTUALLY shapeshift with those skills or, say, spamming crits with sequential Pulverizes while remaining in werebear form also work?
    Because well, while the werebear build has tons of fortify, it lacks a bit of healing, but it has that one passive that increases healing received in werebear form. This might just be the sustain that build is missing.

    • @carthh_
      @carthh_  Рік тому

    • @Yelgis
      @Yelgis Рік тому

      Not true. Lucky hit has a fixed chance to happen per attack. It is only variable per skill. The up to language is to account for the fact that skills apply an amount of lucky hit based on a modifier. Slower or single target skills have a higher lucky mod, whereas fast or multiple hit skills how lower mods. This normalizes lucky hit chance across skills so that Lucky hit won't only be good with fast skills.
      For instance, Claw has a 50% lucky hit mod, while Tornado has an 8% lucky hit mod. That means Packleader which goes up to 20% would have a 10% chance to Lucky hit on a Claw crit, but only 1.6% to Lucky hit on a Tornado crit. Tornado just hits a lot more enemies and can hit even the same enemy multiple times per cast. If it wasn't normalized like this Tornado would be the best skill to proc lucky hits and you would never rely on anything else for any build using lucky hit mechanics.
      With Packleader there are not 3 layers of rng, it is just did you crit and does that crit proc Lucky Hit. 2 Layers is still bad, but since Druid can force crits with Landslide and has a crit chance boon and some passives for crit, it is not that bad.
