In pretty much any mmo ranged classes are always going to be better at early game just due to the fact that they can kill stuff at range before the melee can get to them. Melee classes generally catch up once they level up and have access to more movement.
d4's in a really good place rn lol. grew up with d1 and d2, started d3 after ros, picked up d4 at launch and its been a lot of fun watching them iterate upon and improve d4 to where it is today.

Chess is still fun to me, it's simple, but effective. Balanced. Though D4 probably will probably not 'stamp' people like its predecessors did. Like starcraft and warcraft did. Sometimes you take the betamax direction... To be fair, it's hard to top. Some VR franchise/immersive experience will probably set a new high bar at that. I don't think Blizzard will be competing for most memorable title anytime soon. They'll probably make a load of money though, so who knows. Maybe they'll hire some (gameplay) talent by mistake ;)

It's a shame Carbot didn't animate the classic timed defense event, wandering soul ("They've been feeding on me. My soul... please, take it away from them. Let it end."). It had the classical Diablo 4 twist where you succeed in the defense, but the wandering soul turns out to be evil in the end and goes full Palpatine on the player - "Such power... Hahaha!", and the female VA line delivery was a bit comical due to not having great direction.

The "overqualified drummer" bit was great, but the next Conduit Shrines one was my favorite. Because it happens that way in all these games. I've lost count of the times in Last Epoch where I hit a good shrine and, indeed, the tumbleweeds are all that is left while the shrine effect is up.
Also even if the shine is cursed you get its power when you touch it anyways so by the time the event has finished you stare at an empty shrine every time XD
100% accurate. The most annoying is the cleaning chores, they also added that to wow and I absolutely refuse to clean and mob the floor on a fucking videogame. Idk they “go talk to someone that is right over there” is also a recurrent quest around blizz games now

The fact they came out with that itemization for a loot runner game is insane. They came out with a mega beta version of the game. I think Mefisto was the last boss of the real D4 initial game but they were forced to ship faster. You can see in the new dungeons the old objectives are there but disabled, so the Kurast act was there on launch probably.
There is WAY...WAY...WAAAAAAY more Diablo 1 and 2 energy in this short animation than the entirety of Diablo 4...while this animation shows about 10% of the problems and failures of D4, this > that.

9:23 Looking at this, I think the itemization in Diablo 4 was trolling on Blizzards end. There is no other way for me to explain why it was convoluted like that. They like to do that in World of Warcraft too, so you can't run a optimized build by just looking at stuff.
The funny thing is, I found that D4s itemization is *super* straight forward. Or was, just after launch. Never touched the game again after. Sure, it took a hot second to figure out which stats actually do anything. But after that it was very easy. Does item x have stats y, z and q which I know can roll on item x? No? Ok, item is bad. Yes, ok, item is good so compare if it's an upgrade. They somehow managed to overwhelm you with useless stats and at the same time make the simplest itemization in an ARPG I've seen to date. That takes some talent, I guess.

I'd rather teleport to a rift in Diablo 3 then running to Dungeons in Diablo 4. At the end of day I am not a huge fan of those kind of games... 9:23 Looking at this, I think the itemization in Diablo 4 was trolling on Blizzards end. There is no other way for me to explain why it was convoluted like that. They like to do that in World of Warcraft too, so you can't run a optimized build by just looking at stuff.
The funny thing is, I found that D4s itemization is *super* straight forward. Or was, just after launch. Never touched the game again after.
Sure, it took a hot second to figure out which stats actually do anything. But after that it was very easy. Does item x have stats y, z and q which I know can roll on item x? No? Ok, item is bad. Yes, ok, item is good so compare if it's an upgrade.
They somehow managed to overwhelm you with useless stats and at the same time make the simplest itemization in an ARPG I've seen to date. That takes some talent, I guess.

Friends pulled me back to DIablo when Diablo 2 Reforged came, then the Diablo 4 open Beta came and they all liked it and said I am gonna buy it... I didn't. I seen in the Beta that the Talent system is awkward(for me) and that they not utilized the open world at all... I'd rather teleport to a rift in Diablo 3 then running to Dungeons in Diablo 4.
At the end of day I am not a huge fan of those kind of games... I liked Diablo 2 quite allot, Titan Quest and Grim Dawn.
