    This tutorial is one of the best about keying green screen on the internet so far, you explained about it in a very detail and specific way to utilize the fundamental skills and mindset of new users when using and dealing with the software and situations that they are having. Thanks a lot for your works so far. Appreciate !!
    If can I hope that you can make more about VFX with fusion and the process from start to end. Your tutorials are really helpful

    Amazing tutorial. Best UA-cam tutorial on green screens and keying by a long shot. Thank you for the in depth approach and explaining how tools operate and why you use them. There are many creators out there that only state what tool they use but not why - either because they don't see it necessary or because they themselves don't understand the tool. You go above and beyond sir! Subscribed and look forward to viewing more of your content. Thank you

    Incredible tutorial.
    I have a few questions that came up as I was following along:
    1. How do I resize the foreground (the guitarist) image if needed when all is said and done?
    2. How do I control the color-grading of the background?
    3. How do I control the color-grading of the image as a whole?
    4. What if I wanted to make changes to the length of either the foreground or background, how do I control them separately? Because the track in the editing page only shows the two images stacked.
    5. What if I wanted to key frame the foreground to move across the screen? How do I have speed gate control of that?

    • @coffeebeanstudio
      @coffeebeanstudio  4 дні тому

      Hey mate.
      1. You can resize the foreground image in the Edit page using the Inspector panel. Select the foreground clip (the guitarist), and adjust the Zoom or Position parameters to resize or reposition it. If you're working in the Fusion page, you can adjust the size using the Transform node after the keying process. Resizing does not affect the green screen keying itself, as long as the keyed-out area remains intact.
      2. If you're working in the Fusion page, add a Color Corrector node or a Grading node directly to the background clip. If you're on the Color page, you can grade the background layer separately by selecting it in the timeline. Since the background is placed on its own track or node (separate from the keyed foreground), you can apply color adjustments independently without affecting the foreground.
      3. To grade the entire composition (foreground and background together), you can do one of the following things - Add a Timeline Grade in the Color page. This applies a grade to everything on the timeline. Or Use an Adjustment Clip in the Edit page, positioned over your entire composition. Apply your color grade to the adjustment clip, which will affect everything beneath it. Or Alternatively, in the Color page, use a Post-Clip Grade for uniform adjustments across the timeline.
      4. You can control the length of each layer individually on the Edit page. Ensure you’ve placed the foreground (keyed clip) and the background on separate tracks. Simply trim, retime, or extend each layer as needed using the Trim or Retime tools. If the tracks are stacked and grouped, unlink them first by right-clicking and selecting Decompose in Place (if applicable) to ensure independent control.
      5. To animate the foreground Go to the Edit page, select the foreground clip, and open the Inspector panel. Use the Position controls to set keyframes for the starting and ending positions of the movement. To refine the speed and smoothness, open the Keyframe Editor or Curve Editor (accessible from the timeline toolbar). Here, you can adjust the interpolation of the keyframes, using easing options to create smooth motion. Alternatively, if you’re in the Fusion page, use a Transform node connected to the foreground and keyframe its position directly within Fusion’s timeline.

    • @coffeebeanstudio
      @coffeebeanstudio  4 місяці тому

      Rotoscoping is a good skill to learn, but modern tools help simplify it. There are auto-roto tools, and the Magic mask for example which can automate the roto. I kept it basic so that it's understandable, but you'd normally want to make use of one of the other tools to help with roto.

    Outstanding technique and explanation, thank you! But say instead of "Perfect Green Screening Keying...," I needed only "Semi-Perfect Green Screen Keying...," would Magic Mask with Tracking & a new Bkgd work fairly well? Since I would be in the Color page anyway, I could still reduce greens and yellows as a last step, like you did at 15:05, right? Sorry, I don't mean to detract from your awesome video here, and it is awesome, there is just a huge amount of knowledge required to make videos and all the options are often confusing. Thanks for sharing your knowledge!

    • @coffeebeanstudio
      @coffeebeanstudio  Рік тому +1

      Hi Jer. Hope you have been well. Yes, for semi perfect keying, and for simple foregrounds (like the one in this video), the magic mask would work well. But consider a shot where you have many characters moving around (like some of the examples from the movies that I showed at the start of the video), that would be very hard to achieve using just a magic mask and tracking. Ultimately with anything in postprocessing, it helps to know all the tools we have access to, so that when it comes to completing a task, we can pick the best tool for the job. :) Thanks for watching! :)

    Great tutorial! How does this compare to the 3D Keyer in the color page? I’ve noticed that footage keyed in the color page plays back much faster than the same footage keyed in fusion. Are there pros/cons to one method over the other?

    • @coffeebeanstudio

      The fusion one is a lot more powerful. Try cache rendering the nodes in fusion to get the playback faster. As always if all you need is a quick key , the colour page is not a bad alternative. Just depends on how accurate you need the key to be.

I would really be great if you know the solution to this. I worked 2 days on this (should have done a test render in the beginning but never expected this). I have a question: is there any chance we can apply chromakey removal settings to an adjustment clip to remove the green background from multiple clips at once in one timeline?

    I was following you perfectly up to minute 14:10 where you say to “merge it to the delta keyer” how do I do that?

      Hi Javier. Thanks for following along. Apologies for rushing through that step. To merge with the delta keyer, you need to use a Merge Node. The inputs to the merge nodes will be the outputs of the Delta Keyer and the Footage node.

    Talk about timing. I’m doing this very thing for a friend. But he has a black guitar. I expect I’m going to have some struggles to get a good mat? Any suggestions ? Thanks

      It’ll be easier with a black guitar. Don’t worry.
