Great video. I have a suggestion. After removing the bracket/anode put the anode bracket in a vice and remove the anode first with an allen wrench. I broke 2 of the bolts holding the anode to the bracket using your method. If you take the anode off first and then the bolt (bolt is threaded in to bracket and anode) then the bolt won't break. I have twins and did the other 4 that way without an issue. I thought I would add this comment to help someone in future.
really well documented, even your struggle with having to wiggle it. Also the tip on the Aluminum ones instead of Zinc is a great tip. Thanks for sharing.
Very helpful. Just completed this on my twin 150’s. A bit of a struggle getting one out of the head but kept wiggling and out it came. Also be sure to have metric allen wrench as stated. I did not so anode head got rounded out but nothing vice grips couldn’t fix. Thanks!
I have a f150 yamaha and its been sitting for about 5 years. Before I retired it I drained all fluids. Now I found a hull for it I put it together and now its knocking and with more throttle it gets louder I also changed the balancer still knocking
Thanks for the video! I didn’t even know there were anodes in the motor!
