Let me explain the story on this car, First off, In 1963, Elvis bought 12 Pink Cadillacs for family and friends, of the cars made, most were different models, this car was made specifically for Elvis, hence the bar and wrap around seat, and the headliner. Elvis did own this car with many others, however, Elvis gave this car as a gift to someone, and the car left with a new owner. This was not a show car, it was made for Elvis to drive. But Elvis had a huge heart, and just gave it away. You might ask how I know all this...... My uncle helped build these Pink Cadillacs
Thank you for the information, she needs to be saved and sympathetically restored and put back on the road or on tour or display, it’s an important piece of not just automotive history but the history of rock and roll and Elvis Presley.
I'm guessing there must be some kind of record of this around, at least a photograph. I know if I helped build 12 pink Cadillacs for Elvis, I'd want some kind of proof to share with my friends and family.

My husband was a parking attendant in a restaurant called The Luau in the 400 block of Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills back in the late 60s, he knew Elvis well. One Sunday Elvis showed up for lunch in a white limo followed by 7 brand new Mercedes Benz, one driver in each Mercedes, when they came out Elvis told the drivers: hey guys you can keep the cars just don't tell Mercedes I gave them to you. Mercedes gave Elvis those cars and Elvis took the drivers to lunch as a thank you for driving the cars to where ever Elvis want, but he didn't want them so he gave them away to the seven drivers. Lucky guys. My husband work in the Luau for 6 years 17 hours a day and knew every movie star and famous people you can think of and they knew him well too.
Wasn't it the time Elvis starred in Blue Hawaii? They had 7 Mercedes and 7 drivers that took Elvis on and off set. When the movie was done Mercedes acctually wanted them back, but Elvis told the drivers to keep them instead. Elvis bought these cars after everything was done. Mercedes was in the beginning very mad at Elvis for doing so. 😃
My beloved sister would have liked watching this video. As she was one of his biggest fans. I remember the day as if it were yesterday when she came out her front door screaming and crying the day The King, Elvis, passed away. Great memories, great video. Thank you, and God bless.
Im just going to tell my story as it was told to me. I grew of the son of an aviation family. My dad worked at the Atlanta Airport. He said elvis flew in and out all the time. But this one time was special. He and several others drove straight up to his waiting jet in a pink caddy limo. He jumps out. Tosses the keys to a man from the ground crew and told him to keep it. Weather this is the same car. I have no clue. But it reminded me of that story my dad told me as a little boy. He passed away a year ago this past may 18th . But he told me the story several times in my life.
❤❤❤❤I am thinking he gave it away cause of the throttle cable he wouldn't have wasted a wad fixing it he'd just buy another what I can't understand is why it's not in museum he has at Graceland

2 hours of video. You can bet you missed a lot of details. Remember, they stopped after day 1 to return the next day. I would guess they worked 16 or more hours.
Why don’t you contact Priscilla? She may have a lead? I sent your site and the recovery process to her Twitter or X site and asked her. Have an handwriting expert examine the Elvis signature. There may be the shop label or tag that did the interior. It would be underneath seating? Try and get on a popular tv show, etc. Jay Leno is an expert he may have an expert trace it using metal number info, etc. He’s done that with much older cars was able to trace it down!
My band, Silk and Steel, was playing the Holiday Inn in Oak Ridge, Tn. the night that Elvis died. I will never forget it. Waitresses, guests and customers were crying. When we came back off break (during which the news announced his passing), we played every tribute Elvis song we could think of for the next two hours. Really enjoyed this video! Interesting to see what happens next with the limo!

It's amazing how many Elvis fans there still are in this world. Most entertainers kinda fade off into history but Elvis is just a popular as ever and I understand why being one myself!
Even as a prog rock/metalhead, Elvis rules. He was the genesis of my style of music, you know, rebellious, breaking the molds and all the rules, screw you--this is how I am kinda thing, etc.. Long live that car and The King.

We moved to Georgia in 1986 and up I-75 towards Tennessee at either the Cartersville or Chatsworth exit was a wrecking yard that had a large billboard advertising Elvis' Cadillac on display. That's the exact same car we saw with the wrap around seat in back, custom interior, and his name on the serial plates. Naturally, it was in a lot better condition!

Your story seems to be true, but its hard to believe they let this car go bad. Smokey & the Bandit movie was made in 1977, the year Elvis died & the Snokey & the Bandit car wasnt collectable then, but Elvis death would have made it collectable, & no way would they let this car get this bad. Star War mobvies started in 1977 when Elvis died, but it wasnt until 1980, when the Star Wars collecibles started & movie colllectable cars started. I think it would be easy at the courthouse to prove this car as Elvis's. No One would let this car get this rundown, because this car is a fake. THis car has an Elvis tag for all too see, & its unbelievable that nobody would want it. LOL!
I'm fortunate to have been a kid back in the '60s and '70s to remember Elvis, his music, the Vegas years and movies very well when it was all happening. He truly was the King and still is with the rich legacy that he left us all. He was a beautiful man inside and out...and soooo generous to family, friends and complete strangers. We will always love him tender! 🥰❤🎶👑

And the cake topper at the end was Elvis music ans the trip to Elvis Presley Enterprises in Memphis. Was a extra treat. Keep us all posted please. 😊
Elvis sang Gospel and Elvis had one of the greatest vocals ever heard in any era of time! Elvis is highly respected for his time recording gospel songs for his fans and my family is grateful that Elvis recorded them. Thanks for rebuilding his limousine!

I grew up with Elvis thanks to my Mum and Dad, especially my Mum. She sent me this video 😆 I've sent it out to friends that are also fans of The King and car recovery videos so it's a two for one. Hopefully it does turn out to be one owned by The King himself. Even if it turns out to be one of the Promotional Cadillacs mentioned elsewhere in the comments, it's still a part of his history and legacy. I'm looking forward to more videos on it. Looks like they used a vent window on these 63 limos much like the one first seen on the 1959 models, where the top was wider than the bottom. Most 63s had a conventional vent with all straight lines. The 61s turned the curved section around to form a wider bottom. Became aware of all these early 60s GM cars as my dad had a 61 Olds 88. First car I ever drove. As far as Elvis in those days, he would call the Cadillac dealer on a whim and buy all his guests at Graceland a new car. Thanks for the video, amazing how you got it running in that overgrown lot.

I was 17 when Elvis died. Mom had been an Elvis fan so I had been exposed to alot of his music and movies. And yeah, I liked him. I was going down the road in my 64 Oldsmobile Cutlass my parents gave me on my 16th birthday when the news came over the radio. I was shocked to hear Elvis was gone.
Great story, my memory is not as glamorous as that. I was just eating my breakfast when news came through on the radio. I was thirteen. Elvis and Kennedy, eh?
I too was 17 and remember exactly where I was......I was working at a Dodge Dealership washing a Silver Dodge Monaco Crestwood wagon in the washing bay and the son of the Manager, a young kid came running in, "Elvis Dead" and then said it was all over the radio. Being a Northerner a not a country music or Elvis fan, I remember saying, "I thought he was already Dead?". I honestly thought he had already past...no clue he was still alive....
It nice to know that you guys got this car. Its a very short list of people that I think should own this caddy and I know that if Elvis was watching he is happy to know people like you get to keep they story going.
GM made a Cadillac. But the Cad went to an aftermarket company to make it a limo. The hand-made VIN is typical for those. They are also seen on hearse and old ambulances.

It could have been a car that Elvis bought new originally however this particular example had been altered a lot way after Elvis and also it has deteriorated badly. Also that is not the original engine, knew it right away as soon the hood was lifted. It should have been the 390 V8 and not this 472/500 that is found in it now.

@Triple7studios1 It really makes me think that it's an Elvis car. I mean, who would add something so random like that to try to fake it. I wonder if there's any viable DNA that can be tested? I would take a few days looking for hairs to test. Graceland is bound to have samples to compare it to.

If this is elvis's car I've have a story. That my grandpa had a '63 convertible and drove my mom to meet Elvis for her graduation in '64. When they got to the gates. Elvis's uncle met them. And let him drive up to the house. My grandpa had said he parked next to a pink cadillac. He said they were chatting with his uncle and dad. Mom said elvis was getting out of the pool. He came they were all talking about cars. Knowing Caddy's I'd be willing to bet that's a 472 or 500 cid. 63 definitely didn't have an EGR valve and the compressor in the middle
@@spamanator666 he is saying the engine was swapped because he noticed it has an EGR valve and the AC compressor is not in the location it would have been in if that was the original engine.

In my 25 plus years of working as an auto mechanic I discovered that old rotors make an excellent support base for gravel and dirt areas .....just save ones from work that your jack stands base can fit over and you got an excellent support for soft areas .
Great Find.. Good job getting it to leave under it's own power.. One thing i can tell you about that car is .. That Engine has been replaced with a latter one.. Looks like a 472/500..
I spotted that too right away, I had a few early pre sixty seven caddys and up to sixty three they had the three ninety then the four twenty nine that was same engine with larger bore I think. The 472 and 500 first came out in the first year eldorado I think, the the rest of the years after that up to the early / mid seventies also had the later engines. someone has done an engine swap its easy to spot the different valve covers and air conditioning compressor mounted in the center etc etc. the early 390 and 429 engines had problems with cracked heads, the later 472 and 500 (actually a 502 stated on the engine compartment tuneup spec tag) were much better engines more hp and gobs of torque also ran much smoother, as an early mechanic I worked on many of the early and later models caddys, loved doing a good tune up on the 472 and 500's cause they idled sooo smooth when in good tune.

Are you lonesome tonight … or what ?

Elvis really went in style.

LOL!

I can’t believe you guys actually wanted it 😂 Hell, if you just blew the rust out of it you’d probably have the lightest version of the car 😆 the old interior in the back is a riot with the antiquated radio stuff. I’m guessing that this might have been a car used by an Elvis impersonator. Have a great weekend! 😁👋🏻

Great video. Elvis was one of my favorites. Not many appreciate his talent. I still miss him as he’d be in his early 90s I believe. It’s cool to see this old pink Cadie rolling and can’t wait to see and hear more of what’s in store for this gem.
My volkswagen is a 63 convertible. This car as a kid was my dream car. The only car in the entire world that would put a smile on my face. I was never allowed to drive or have a vw bug coming from a small town where my dad raced Chevy's & drove them. In his eyes wasn't safe enough. When you see a car or person, you just know that's what I want in my life forever. Well, you just know!!! Well, my 1963 vw bug convertible is here I obtained by myself in my really early 20's. I still have it & I can't imagine her In a junk yard somewhere. Brings tears to my eyes. If I die, I pray someone who loves her will keep her & take care of her, maybe even better than I do. She is a little piece of history. After checking years ago, there was only less than 600 of these beautiful 1963 red vw convertible bugs. Cherish them & ❤️ them. 1963 J.F.K. was president. People loved each other, even strangers. Cars age faster than humans. Especially in places near the sea.
Very cool car ..Elvis was a regular down here in Biloxi, MS in his early days, and my mom knew him well..she used to tell me "He was just one of our gang", back when he was just getting started in the music business and singing in local clubs here in town. He invited Mom and a few other friends to go with him to Memphis to do one of his first recordings and my Grandpa said "Absolutely not!"
Those door tags can be written on with a pencil and most were never filled out so it would be easy for the person who put on the ELVIS license plates To write in the name of ELVIS,! As has been stated here many times, it can be traced through DVD records and proven to have belonged to ELVIS and if so, get it restored then!

This is gotta be the coolest revival ever! Such a great car! Great job Wyatt, Lance and Christian! God Bless!
So cool to see you and your dad working together I couldn't work with my dad 5 minutes without fighting
That's sad. I was lucky and worked with my father on many projects over the years.
@jjklulu ... es verdad parecian muy amigos en esta aventura mecanica... es bueno que asi sea //
The motor in this car looks like about a 1970, 472 out of a DeVille.
How much pull and power does a family need to drive into Elvis's house, at the peak of his career, and have a personal chat with him? Come on man. You can't just lay that story out here without a solid explanation.
@@624radicalham Its very suspicious to see many comments like that here, who to believe?
@@624radicalham I wish I knew. He didn't talk about things like that. He also took my mom and her friend to see the Beatles at Shea Stadium and got them in without tickets. He never said how he did that and of course my mom doesn't know. All I know he was a commercial artist and loved his Caddy's
Woweee lam Elvis fan how cool... Bringing back history..l really enjoying watching your video. I love it appreciate your work it's was the coolest...❤😁😁😇🙏

Simply DeLuxe! Let's go for a ride in the Pink Cadillac 💋
Brings back memories. Remember buying a 61 Cadillac convertible. Every thing fell into place and it was running like a top. It had set for over 10 years.
Awesome. That car has to be fully restored and I know you guys will do a fantastic job. What a piece of history.

@@apatheticempathy Oh no. That's terrible.
good job guys and funny at the end driving it out-
They did have a limo that would be drove around the untied states to promote Elvis. I think this is that limo. Awesome video! Elvis lives in our hearts always!!! THE KING NOW AND FOREVER !!!!
Another little piece of Elvis' history returning from his legacy left to all of us!
It's not Elvis's car.
Elvis' life was so documented, there should be pictures of this car.
That is what I have been thinking. There should be at least one photo of it somewhere. But then ... where did it originate and what is its history?
@@KameraShy Every car that elvis owned was documented, no way would that sit in a Junk yard that long
Maybe a MARY KAY. MAKEP. VAR??
@@virgin26 cause its a 1OO% fake as is that cowboy guy and hid "bull" story to sell the rustbucket car !!!
He never owned that car. He was in the military at the time.
Elvis has left the junkyard. 😂😂. What an awesome find.
We used to carry around scrap rims for this purpose. Sand blast them paint then install used tires from n. Garages just to get the cars rolling
Amazing find. Elvis had a Ton of cars. If the keychain has TCB & a lightning bolt, that was Elvis's motto.
Ok, this is by far the coolest thing I've seen to date on here. So glad you guys got it. Can't wait to see more content on this beautiful pink Cadillac. Thanks for all the work your family puts into these videos. Good luck
