I'm amazed with all the UA-cam channels that show these auctions of cars from the 40's, 50's and later. Clearly old timers collected (hoarded) and saved these old cars from so many decades ago. They then passed on and the auction folks show up. What I haven't understood is who has interest in saving and driving these old cars from say the 40's and 50's? I never see cars from that era on the road doing a Sunday drive. The people who had emotional connections to them from their youth have passed on or, are really old. So, there can't be much value in them these days and most sell for scrap prices I'd imagine. I think we all like and appreciate seeing these really old cars from so long ago but how many of us would really want one in the garage. With that said, I'm glad people are saving them.
I love looking at these old cars. I can’t help but think out the lives they lived in service to their previous owners. You got a good deal on that. Bronco. I’d love to see all of these cars fully restored. We’ve got to preserve the past in order to go into the future.
Howdy from Scotland gentlemen. I’ve been waiting patiently for someone to take on the restoration of a Plymouth Fury. My favourite US car. I hope you guys get in about it and transform it into a stunning automobile. Jeez, it’s almost half way there already . Here’s hoping…….. Cheers & All the best … John.
That’s a 59 Plymouth! I had a 59 Savoy. It had push button transmission. It was quite the head turner. Christine was a 58 Plymouth. The 59 was a one year body style. The fins and eyebrows over the headlights are unique to that year.
The Hood on the Javelin AMX was the Cowl Induction hood and the hood release was on the right side of the steering wheel. The Gold grill emblem on the Fury was the hood release, you pull it forward and then the hood pops up

The Plymouth Fury is cool. Getting stuck no Fun. 1st generation Bronco is a good investment. Leave outside until the rats abandon ship. Thank you Lance and Wyatt. For these buys. 💯👊👍
Patina trucks are always a good seller, assuming the investment cost is fair. I recently bought a '72 Chevy C10 and a '58 GMC 100 for a combined total of $1100. Both were in very fair condition, so in terms of barrier to entry, I'm in a good position to commence new build projects.
My first car is a 1959 Belvedere four door sedan. It has a 1973 454 with a 72 Chevelle rear end I put in it in 1985. It would be a perfect parts car to fix your Fury. It ran when parked in 1986 when it was totaled by a Jeep Grand Cherokee. Come’n git it! It’s just down in Wilson County!
TR, you all should check out Scott's collection of Furys at Cold War Motors! He has restored three to showroom condition! And the best one started out worse than the one you just picked up. Cool video!
In regards to the small sliding rear window: In the Clint Eastwood "Every which way movies, he drove a 55-57 Chev truck that I believe had a sliding rear window that should have been that same size.

Too bad you did;t get t(e Javelin. I didn’t like them when they were new, but now I would take one if the opportunity came or comes along. Thanks for taking us on the journey.

That initial pull out of the muck after years is always very emotional for me! Totally serious. A ton of money about to be spent, but a reclamatoion of a true, beautiful bit of Americana too. It's very dangerous to buy cars that you don't know what your getting yourself into .. but I admit that I don't know anything about Broncos, they all look the same to me, so I wouldn't know if it's worth any big money or not like some of them are, but pretty sure most of them that are worth big money never started off as rat infested rust buckets. But keep up the great work guys, I like what you're doing and wish you much success❤
