Forgotten 1952 Pontiac Chieftain | Cummins Diesel Engine Swap | Turnin Rust

- Опубліковано 7 бер 2024
- Join in with the Turnin Rust crew as they receive the whereabouts of a forgotten 1952 Pontiac Chieftain. Upon arrival the guys find out that this isn't their typical barn find with rats and debris under the hood, but instead the engine compartment is packed full of a 12 Valve Cummins Diesel! Being that the car has been sitting up for several years, the team jump in headfirst to see what it's going to take to get this old Chief back on the road again. Will they be able to get this unique piece of automotive history back on the road again, or has it possibly let off its last smoke signal?!

Precious time spent with dad. You're blessed.😊
That old Pontoon rates a 10 in my book of cool swaps! Glad she's in your hands, she'll be properly taken care of.
I gotta 54 I'll sell
I'd put a 4-71T in it 😜
This is one of those old cars that I look at it and I think "Yes, I would drive that." Awesome car. I look forward to seeing what y'all do with it!
That old car was given a name when it was born. It still works today. Chieftain. Keep it at that. A proud name with history behind it.
Agree

"The Chief" is already the proper name in my book, what a cool car, awesome find! Possibilities are endless!
What a beautiful car. I always loved the mid-fifties sedans as they all had a smug attitude just sitting still. As to a name, if it were my car I'd be proud so Proud Pontiac is my nominee...
The saviour , because that engine will never let you down ,
Always a pleasure to watch you guys, your kindness, respectable way of dealing with others and of course your skills make it worth watching. stay blessed
This is a pretty awesome find guys. Who would have ever thought it wouldnt be so bad to get running again. Gods given talent at work here. God bless you guys.
27:20 her willing spirit to crawl back there through that tiny opening on top of rusty spider infested things.. is so impressive.
Вона може і не хотіла, але її попросили
Oh I luv that car. The history from the 50's era. Beautiful. Time capsule. Priceless piece of history.
Love your channel and the Chieftain!
This car brings back memories. Way back when (1968) my big brother’s first car was a blue ‘52 Chieftain (purchased for $125). It was sweet and he named it “Buhla”. My bro passed away a few yrs back so I was thinking perhaps your Chieftain could be named “Buhla-2” in his honor? Keep up the great work and God Bless!
Brian
I've watched you guys bring lots of rusty derelicts back to life but this has to be the best yet and I'd like to see more of it. Can't wait to see the interior redone and the paint wet-sanded and clear-coted. Great job.
There are so many of these "Will It Run" videos on You Tube. I want to see someone fully restore a junked and forgotten vehicle, start to finish. I understand that it isn't easy and for the most part not a great investment time or money wise, but if I only had the skills...
Agree, "will it run" is getting old and tired. Time to move on to actually completing them on a budget. @@edwardcricchio6106
Loved this video! As an old school Mercedes diesel fanatic this diesel chieftain holds a special spot. My vote is the Smokin’ Chief
Super Cool Car, Diesel makes it Unique, thinking ""Chief of Cool" or Cool Chief maybe.
My folks had a '51 Pontiac when I was a kid, so I've kind of got a thing for 49 to 52 Pontiacs. Dad was always fiddling with that ol' car and fixing it up. They traded it in on a new '63 Ford Fairlane station wagon and I never did take to that Ford like I did that ol Pontiac.
DIESEL!!!!!!! I am so excite. just started the video. looks like a ole 12 valve. That thing will be a tank and mostly loyal as any.
1950s classic American cars are a thing of absolute beauty !!
Congratulations on the start and Drive of the 52 Chief. Great video men. Thank you Lance and Wyatt and Christian for the great video.
❤️💯👍👊
Thank you for sharing and your APPRECIATION to your subscribers who watch your videos Lance
I never thought i would see a diesil car, so cool!😀
Great video guys! Cannot wait to see what y'all do with the Pontiac!
Hey I drove past your place a couple of weeks ago on a Saturday but nobody was around. I was just out for a Saturday drive seeing if I could discover any old gems hidden away in pastures or back yards. I got very lucky and found an 56 two door Chevy. I'm going back with my trailer Tuesday to pick it up. If I have time I'll swing by your place again.
Chieftain Big Smokum rolls coal again. That's one cool rig.
Thatt looks exactly like my ol grand dads car... listening to the diesel in it, I might name it the "Pontiac Purr", or the "Power Patrol"... God bless you with this one!
Love it little sister came thru.
Man that’s an awesome find. Looks like it’s right up y’all’s alley. We really appreciate the content
You were missing!!! Miss these great videos!! Hugs here from Goiânia, in the State of Goiás in Brazil!!!
Love the content! Mad luv n respect as always! If that were my car, I'd name it Ratt Daddie.
Great video! Keep’m out of the squasher. “Diesel Chief “
That old Chieftan with a 12 valve seems more like Crazy Horse to me!
Love the old Pontiac 👍. and the diesel is awesome. Great video as always. I love the Bible verses at the bottom of the screen great addition.
What a cool old girl, nice work!
Diesel Chief would be a good name .
Love your show. I'd call it Chief Rust Skin or Chief Patina Pontiac.
my parents bought a 49 chieftain in 53. I remember sitting in the back seat without a seatbelt. LOL That chieftain was a styleline 2 door. Wish I had it now.
Left Hand thread lug nuts on one side of that one. I will never forget that once I learned it the hard way.
Great car, my first car was a 1957 chieftain, got me thru high school and part of college. I remember how large the steering wheel was.
Looks like a Great project, can't wait to see more on this one, it would look awesome two tone in cream and cherry red with a set of white walls 👌 have fun with this one 🤙 god bless and stay safe all.
Great to see Christian looking well too
❤
Now that was fun thanks and cool 👍👍👍🙂👍😊

Thanks for blessing us with another great video!
That is one heck of an interesting and off the wall car. Weird that an old lady bought it and then just let it set.
A really cool old rig. Chief Black Smoke
Didn't expect that Cummings in there
Yes i like the old style cars back in the day, very classy, better than the tinny and pricy modern ones that smash to peaces on the slightest impact, and modern cars are pricey, old cars have the best style.😊
I bought an 80 Firebird with no trunk key. Took out the back seat. Taped a screwdriver to a stick and popped the trunk open. New lock only costs a few bucks.
I love that the fact that you take the time and bring these old bones back to life. Big Chief would be the name I would give it.
wow guys that's an amazing rig. I always love watching your videos. I'll call it The 2nd Cumming. Keep up the grate work and keep sharing the love Christ. Blessings
Лучший, спасибо за потраченное время!!! Здоровья тебе и твоей семье!!!
Another fine quality video by Whyatt and Lance Bush
😊😊😊
good afternoon, you have very high-quality content, thank you very much. I have not been watching you for very long, but I like it very much. Continue in the same spirit with a huge positive from Russia.
Great job guys..
The Pontiac attack yak yak yak .. definitely get a bulb working in the hood ornament for sure . Kinda reminds me of an ole billy Joel song for some reason ..
Great find! Great video! I would call it, "Chief".
Love this revival, best video iv seen in ages, great work you'll keep these coming, much love and respect from down under.
Diesel Chief, I would fix the interior up nice. I know you are patina guys but I would love to see it Candy Apple Red with cool exhaust tips on the back. I appreciate your show. Thanks Earl
It'd be nice to see that one running, and put on a nice coat of primer to make it look a little better.
It’s a pretty cool car.. For some reason i feel “Percy” would be a suitable moniker… It’s a down to earth name with an air of sophistication
Yeah love the father and son video plus camera daughter to show us how is done, family business and looking good at it.😊
Dude with that beast of a truck? You could pull that car out! And take the house with it!😅
Great video! Love the scriptures!
That car is awesome
Pontiac FTW!
Hey guys i love this video like all others..god blessing u family..
Love this car,Chief Cummins! Great video!
Enjoy your show you go from start to finish no gimmicks.
This is a cool old car for sure. I would definitely restore the entire interior as best I can, I'd add a bigger turbo, a front mount intercooler, and a really cool exhaust, but I'd only wetsand and clearcoat the existing patina.
The patina on that car is beautiful.
It's definetly better when we can hear You guys
I love it ,so cool... Poncho!
With the pine needles hanging off the front bumper it looks like a late 50s Beatnik character from a CARS movie with a cool little chin beard! My name for him: Bongo or Kerouac!
Impressive video lady and Gentleman!!!!!!!
My grandfather had a 1951 Pontiac. We called it ol’ blue lol. Cuz of color lol awesome guys
You've GOT to call her Pocahontas!
Cool fact about that old chieftain... Factory had it made to when you turn on the parking lamps the chiefs head on the hood lights up
I seen on one of your videos you had a 87 or 88 escort would it be for sale
A Cummins chief? Really cool guys
Such a cool find. Being a good solid chief-tain maybe Geronimo or Cochise or Wild Eagle
good job guys - one of your best
Another great episode. Loved seeing that smoke roll out when you pulled onto the main road. I would name name it "Little Big Diesel".
It's the design feature of that massive steering wheel I believe the concept behind it's called leverage
That's one sweet car. I kinda like the diesel swap.
Been watching the show for year's. Just love it. Have a name for the Pontiac. MOUSE. God bless.
"Smokey" looks good. Well done Christian saved the day😜. Thanks guys.👍

Great premier.
Keep it simple name wise "Chief!" I'm a retired Navy Senior Chief, it looks like a Salty Chief!
When I was 14, my dad had A51 Pontiac.Houston we named black beauty
HI Wyatt & Lance! Love your stuff. I'd really like to know more about that wonderful old1940 Chevy Dubl Duti. Can you please give an update on the project. You said at the end of your last video about it: "... I've dug around on the internet and I'm quite confident in knowing that this is probably the only one of its kind in existence and to know that she actually still runs, it's just so cool to know that the only one is still up and running now. There's been a whole lot of controversy of what we should do with this old van. We love custom builds around the shop but with a piece this rare it would be really cool to see it go back to its originality with that being said we're going to keep working on it." I'm hoping you're still doing a "back to original" restoration on it. Thanks!
Love your style, no talk just getting down to business. One of my favorite channels now
Great video! Steady Eddie sounds good to me
