Thank you guys, for saving this ol' bird. I've had 5 of these, currently have a small fortune, and 15 years of blood, sweat, n tears invested in my 1968.
@@PietiaWuuu They've put it on the road again. It runs and drives. It's certainly better than what you'd have them do which is crush it because you don't understand what fixing a car actually means.
im 22 yrs and yesterday ive just laid the windshield on my 68 Firebird 350 h.o finshing the build. Its been a dream i had since i was 17 (when i first got it). It was rough but everytime i went to work on it, that didnt matter at all, its mine. this is fuel to keep the torch lit. Great build guys.
What a great revival. First gen Fire Birds are definitely an awesome car and I definitely see the potential in this ol’ girl. Man oh man that motor sounded amazing. A lot of work? Yes. But definitely worth it. Thanks all and God bless. 🙂
being old long hair and a beard. o k. 67 and had 4 strokes. and guys like you are why i don't give up. i am going to enjoy this. thank you for the ride along. westport wa.state here. really really nice out.
brother that car is BEAUTIFUL!!! every piece of rust, every dent, every flake of paint they all tell its story... i really hope yall keep her or sell her to someone that will care for it...
Brian from New Zealand,i ts 9pm Sunday my boys in there beds are so happy you are doing this car, remember they cannot go in cars as bed ridden , we thank you for a great show.
Still has some fire left in the ‘ol Bird! Have to wonder what kind of cam she’s got? Minus all the dirt and all, she’s not bad. Thank You for all your hard work and saving her! Great video!
You need to restore this car! Awesome 👍 my wife and I both would love to see you do a complete restoration on it and if course make a video of the process. Thank you 🙏 and may God bless you and your family 🙏🙏
Dirty Bird is looking and sounding pretty good. I raced a 69 back in early 80s, 400 4spd, when I lived in Fort Worth, Did pretty good. Glad to see you got it back on the road.
My first car was a 74 javelin 4 speed 401. Black with white interior. Bought it in 78 for 1200. I did offer 1000. But he was a nasty one when I met him. Cold door knock. Long hair shirtless and stinking drunk. 1200 and slams the door. I came back 20 minutes later with the 1200. 3 flats and park in the back yard under a huge leaky tree just covered in sap. In a couple of hours I had it running and off to the carwash. I was blown away by the condition of the car. Thank God I saved it.
Now that is one that is worth saving. Great video guys. Love the cars and I love your content...keep up the great work! God bless you all and thank you!
As the owner of 11 69 birds over 15 years, it's nice seeing someone taking this project on. I still have my first 69. Got it free from my buddy as a ready to sand blast shell with boxes and boxes of parts. Drove it until kids and wife.
Back in '72 my ride was a '68 Firechicken, 400 H/O, Holley 750 double pumper, complete Accel ignition (coil, wires, plugs), 3/4 cam, Blackjack headers, Hurst competition shifter, 22" Mickey Thompson street slicks and a big ass pair of shackles on the back end (LOL ...couldn't afford air shocks). The coolest feature was the speedometer....it went to 160 mph. Never buried it, but had it up to 150. That car had balls the size of watermelons.
I remember seeing those 160MPH Speedometers. 😮. Most cars were 120MPH. Then the 80's came with 85 MPH Speedos with the "infamous" 55😢 highlighted on the dial 🤮 Sammy Hagar's "I Can't Drive 55" comes to mind.😁 So does those speeding tickets of my carefree youth. Lol 😂😂😂
Man, that bird is so 80’s with the back jacked up and the ladder bars, and I love it. I recon this one needs some nice paint and and glittered graphics 🇦🇺🤙🏼
I remember my first car was a 1971 Pontiac Lemans 2-door coupe, It was Aztec Gold color with a brown vinyl top & had Pontiac sport wheels with the ruby red PMD center caps on the wheels. That was one neat looking car & had a 350 V-8.
I love watching yawls episodes. I wish I would’ve had the money to buy that Firebird be restored back to its glory. Can’t wait to see what y’all do with it.
REstore!!!!!!!!!!!! Lots of potential!!! Awesome sounding exhaust! Repair and replace as needed and repaint!!! The long glass packs would work for me!!
What a treasure to bring back some AMERICANA to the pavement. You both did a WONDERFUL JOB on all you did. Inspirational to me. My 1968 2door Hardtop Pontiac Tempest Coupe has been in the storage unit 26yrs. But not for long. You both have shown me step by step to HER arrival again. Thanks for all YOU BOTH do. Truck Driver Ray. Blessings to the family. Let Christian she's doing a great job. Thanks again. ✝️
That Firebird surely wants to fly. I remember a time when a lot of cars sounded like that. Not so much anymore around here. Great seeing the family working together, though only a glimpse or two of your sister. She does an awesome job on the camera.
My guess is the oil problem was primarily the dented pan causing the pickup to be so close to the bottom and sucking up all the sludge. Normally there would be more space and the sludge would’ve stayed on the bottom below the pickup. Glad you’re saving her, everyone always loves the Camaros but I always thought the birds were really cool!
Turnin Hello guys I missed the livestream but I'm watching the replay now !! But this one word of Advice that you guys remove the fire hazard ,glass fuel filter, and replace with a non glass fuel filter !! Because my friend years ago all most lost his classic Chevrolet Camaro when one of those glass fuel filter blow !! 🔥🔥🔥
Great video - My first car was a 69 Pontiac Catalina with a 400 engine and it had exactly the same problem with sludge blocking the oil pump. I attributed it to using leaded gasoline because my sludge was grey in color. Shut it down after a low oil pressure startup and removed the oil pan to clean and fix the problem. Still got a few more years on it. That car ran for over 12 years and over 160,000 miles until rust from being driven in Syracuse, NY cracked the frame over the drive axle and it got sold to a junk yard.
i think centerbolt valve covers were a pretty good improvement, much less prone to leaking they apply more even pressure to the gasket. i saw the valve covers and it just reminded me, it's been awhile since i have seen the perimeter bolt style.
my dad was a logger for years. made dam good money.he was always dragging things home. most of my life there's been something beside the garage. that's how a man stayed home. 57 chevy's mustangs, chargers. yea when my dad was teamster. cars all over.
I hope ya keep that bird because it's definitely a attention getter and perfect for turnin rust kinda billboard to drive around and because you deserve a hotrod to cruise around
Great video I enjoy you guyses videos. Love that bird and good catch on that dang oil pump what a pain just to take out that pan. Again thanks for sharing and God Bless 👍👍👍💯💯💪🙏🙏🙏 SOUNDS AWESOME!!!😊
When I saw this I couldn't start watching any faster! I own a Goldenrod Yellow 1969 Firebird 400 (w/455). You might want to verify that you have a 400 engine. I don't think this is a true 400 car. There is no '400' emblem on the trunk, there is no arrowhead emblem on the front bumper and there is no "filler" plates in the engine compartment. Either way, love to see it done!
These are some of my favorite muscle cars, besides the Torino. They are just too cool. I came across a '71 Torino with 53K original miles on it that I got for $200. One of these is definitely going to be my next muscle car project. This was an awesome find.
I had 1968 Firebird 400 /4 speed all original factory scoop the most beautiful car in my city… 30 sum years ago I sold it to some guy from New Zealand.
Really enjoyed that video--that 69 FB has nice lines, and that engine sounded way better than it should have given the conditions it sat in. Must have been a burner when she was racing! Nice work, gentlemen!
I love to see fathers and sons working together. It doesn’t matter how old or young they are. The bonding is wonderful.
Very fond memories😂 turning rust with my Dad Johnny back in the 80's. (RIP). Treasure this time with your Daddy. Great job!!!😅
Thank you guys, for saving this ol' bird. I've had 5 of these, currently have a small fortune, and 15 years of blood, sweat, n tears invested in my 1968.
So far they haven't saved anything except pouring fresh oil into the rusty corpses.... Aaah... they added a few trinkets.....
@@PietiaWuuu They've put it on the road again. It runs and drives. It's certainly better than what you'd have them do which is crush it because you don't understand what fixing a car actually means.

I think it looks better without the rear bumper
What a great revival. First gen Fire Birds are definitely an awesome car and I definitely see the potential in this ol’ girl. Man oh man that motor sounded amazing. A lot of work? Yes. But definitely worth it. Thanks all and God bless. 🙂

My father worked at Pontiac back in the 60’s’-70’s, grew up on these cars. Still regret selling my 67 convertible! Great job guys.

Hi From Missouri you guys are blessed vehicle that’s been sitting for 35 years to get it running and driving. God bless you and love you guys.
Has a really nice chop to the idle, a real survivor, nice work guys.
This thing is by far one of the neatest cars that you two have rescued over the years. I LIKE IT!
You need to restore this car! Awesome 👍 my wife and I both would love to see you do a complete restoration on it and if course make a video of the process. Thank you 🙏 and may God bless you and your family 🙏🙏
Please have this "Bird" at least street restored😅
Hell no. It needs to be kept as much like this as possible, as a survivor. There are enough pristine over restored "collector" cars
Dirty Bird is looking and sounding pretty good. I raced a 69 back in early 80s, 400 4spd, when I lived in Fort Worth, Did pretty good. Glad to see you got it back on the road.
Great job guys! Good thing you sorted the oil pump & pan. Sounds great!
Awesome to see you back again. Watching from the other side of the world in New Zealand. 😊
Same here
Same from Finland 🇫🇮
Same from Australia. I always watch your channel. It`s great.
Man u guys just made me miss my 68 fire bird. Looked about like yours but with little more red in the paint and black interior.
My first car was a 1969 Firebird as a kid in high school 1980, pure memories!! Amen ✝
Great job guys on resurrecting the DRTY BIRD !!
This one looks like is been thru hell and fire and somehow survived to reach back and tell us a cool story..

Good job guys! Reminds me of my 67 Camero with the 327 engine. Fond memories.
What a cool find I am so partial to Pontiac I hope to see more videos on fixing it up 👍
Now that is one that is worth saving. Great video guys. Love the cars and I love your content...keep up the great work! God bless you all and thank you!
You guys, did an awesome job to get the Pontiac Firebird sounding great again and to drive it 🙂
Well now that you guys have put all that effort and work into her, I feel confident that she has a bright future.
Wow! The Dirty Bird looks great...wish I could have it here in the UK. Well done guys & Christian great filming as usual.

Nice one, Doing a 1982 FirdBird myself right now that has sat since 93, shes only got the V6 but shes coming around!
What a revival!! Maybe you'll do a follow-up sooner than later. That Was Epic.
One of the best cars you have brought back.
What a beast. Nice work guys greetings from sth Australia 🇦🇺 👍 🙏
You guys have absolutely got to restore that beauty thats the best car you've had on yet in my opinion
Best one I have seen on here .....
yeah, these are a rare treasure now....worth just taking your time and doing it the best you can.
maybe a manual swap?
These guys have no idea about it... All they can do is pour fresh oil into a rusty engine.
Oh no... sorry... They added a bunch of trinkets to the corpse... No ambition for a comprehensive restoration...

Hade a 76 transam with the 160 speedo 455 engine would burry that speedo at will on the new York state freeway in up state NY the good old days
@@robertbrooks3341 Nice!

I like how you guys don't fill your videos with lots of loud music and action and drama. Just nice and quiet and relaxed. Thumbs up!
Geweldig wat jullie doen. De amerikaanse autoindustrie was belangrijk voor de hele wereld !!!!!!! Wees trots op deze geschiedenis !!!!!!

So much character in that patina....love it
Yes, I hope that no one turns this into a over restored trailer queen

"The Bird is the Word" 1963, The Trashmen. 😁 My next favorite Pontiac after the GTO!!! Great getting it running and sounds awesome!
These old Firebirds are so good cleaned up. They cost so much to restore though, its crazy. Anything with a Pontiac logo seems to double in price!
Love the old birds, love the licensee plate for her also!
Great Job, but that Bird is Screaming to be painted "Arrest Me Red"!!!! Gorgeous!!!!

The Car looks very hopeful. Good luck with the build.
Very nice job on getting that Firechicken back on the road.
It sounds amazing! Really great job, and the white interior looks like it would clean up pretty well.
Let's keep it rolling with new videos on turnin rust and restored thank you y'all tell Christina hey
Excellent job! Fun watching you tear into this vehicle!
I remember those Firebirds in a bright yellow, my fav color for cars.
If you ever just wanted to clear coat the patina this is the time. I'm usually not an advocate of that kind of thing but this one has character.
