Anyone else just get super stoked, when they see a new VGG Video pop up and notice it is 2 hours and 36 minutes... Literally can't contain myself right now! I think a feller and family deserves a Vacation they been working so hard for so many Years, I mean consider it Derek, you are a freaking Beast man!! Thank you
I try to beat my friend to the new one and let him know it's on before he lets me know. I did, however, look on vgg to see if he had a new one he did not, so I went and watched his sons LGG. Then, after watching his sons, then vgg had a new one up.
I literally just started my grandpa's 70 Ford f250 yesterday, for the first time in 22 years. I never would have even attempted this without your its easy attitude. Still needs work but she's a runner! Thank you for everything Derek hope I can meet a guy someday.
Very nice. We've got an old 71 Plymouth roadrunner thats been sitting in a barn on our property since the 80s. Inheritance from grandfather. I'll eventually get around to doing the same thing. We honestly have no idea why it would put away, though.
Nothing tops a Friday with Derek performing his rescue magic, of those sleeping old girls from their long years of sleep. The best it gets for an old feller like me !
Derek, pretty obvious that you are a committed, dedicated, driven Father, husband and mechanic…. But for God sake you need to SLOW down. We fans aren’t going anywhere…Please take a day off. Love all you do, thanks.
He hides it well, but I've noticed in the last couple of videos that he's pretty stressed out. He definitely needs some time off. He could do a vlog video or two if he's worried about keeping up with the algorithm.
im 58 and watched this with my 81 year father . he had an identical one with a v8 i remember riding in the back with my best friend looking at stuff out that large back window. it was in perfect shape back in the early 70s. my dad now loves your show . we shared some great memories watching this one . THANK YOU SO MUCH BROTHER 👍
If a movie is 2.5 hours long there's a good chance I won't bother with it yet I'll clear my schedule and/or postpone the night's plans as soon as I see there's a 2.5 hour rescue with Derek. Thanks for dragging a guy out for another awesome rescue.
Derek! Please take these words of wisdom to heart from a 40 + year mechanic. PLEASE don't hammer on old battery posts. They out-gas and the acid fumes are extremely combustible. When I was about 19 I had a '70 Nova SS 427 4 Speed and one morning I was late for work. (I was framing houses at the time ) I turned the key to start the engine and all I got was Click, Click, Click, so I reached in the trunk of the Nova and grabbed my 22 oz framing hammer to tap on the battery terminals to tighten them up. First whack and the old battery exploded in my face. I slowly tried to find my way to the sink in my moms laundry room with my eyes closed and proceed to fill the sink and stick my head in the water to flush my eyes out. I had pieces of plastic shrapnel from the exploded battery stuck in my face, forehead, neck, chest etc. I'm fortunate to still have both eyes. Needless to say I've never used a metal object to try and tighten the battery posts on an older (or new battery). I do hope some readers learn something from my incident with battery fumes and a steel hammer. Cheers
I couldn't agree more Jimi. This also comes from experience of trying the same stupid stunt with a hammer. The post by Jimirox should be pinned as it could save a life or two as well as a persons vision.
About to hit 2 MILLION SUBS. Cant think of a guy who deserves it better er. Man you do what you love and get to do it for humans that you love more er. What a dream. Hope all your humans understand why you do this and its all for them.. GOD BLESS YOU. Thanks for all the content and time you give.
I like it when a guy finds the more unusual cars to rescue. I’m a Lady that has restored one car and is working on a second one.But I’m a special kind of masochist in that I have really odd British cars. But I really enjoy watching you save these cars.
Yea I have literally tried watching so many different channels out there but never get but a few minutes in before I'm done and Derek is the only one that keeps you engaged all video long... he's def the GOAT of car rescues/revivals... 🐐 🚗 🔧🍻🇺🇸
Yep,, there's no GIVE UP in our guy Derek,,, he NEVER gives up if there's even a ONE IN A THOUSAND CHANCE to get his acquisition back to the Bieri shop.
I can sit here and watch you for 3 hours and talk to you the whole time and never get pissed off I'll say check the timing and you do or something else just like I was right there
Dereck you are not a national treasure, you are an INTERNATIONAL treasure... because I'm sitting here in S.America watching 2.5 hours of resurrection goodness! Thanks man, keep the resurrections coming 👍
Inspirational. This kind of attitude, diagnostic technique, perseverance, patience and problem solving ability will get anyone through anything life throws at them!
Could not stop watching Big D battle the old Mopar ! Now its 1 am here in Ripley WV ! Man that's fist to see you trash the degikal meter ! You have the a great passion and patience of those cars ! Amazing content that's impossible to stop watching ! Again a great video !
Man I really hope you choose to take a break soon. You look exhausted. We have more than enough content to keep us busy while you take some time with the family. Im dealing with burn out myself. Please take a break man your amazing and we appreciate everything you do!
I agree but let me tell you Florida will take it all out of you. I’ve lived here my whole life and have a garage. Don’t touch my cars from late may till after August. Just too much heat and humidity to breath
VGG has the only comment section where no one is arguing or critical. Love when people can agree on something. And I guess we all agree on big love for Derek and VGG.
50 miles from my home, and I didn't even know you were coming. Gotta say this is my favorite channel. I'm retired twice and do nothing but watch you tube.
This video stressed me out! I've been there: nothing works, stores are closed, holiday weekend, running out of time. I don't have half Derek's skill, so so much respect to him for showing it like it really is!
This guy is a true blue American and and National Treasure. Genuine worker. He deserves all good that comes his way. Thanks for the example Derek B🙏🏽✌🏽🇺🇸
This is the very first "will it rin" channel I ever came across on YT and the ONLY ONE that I'll literally abandon anything going on or watching (within reason) to watch a VGG video! Derek, I'm 51 and I knew quite a bit about wrenching on things with an engine but, I've learned more in the past 2 years from your content than I ever knew to begin with! Thank you so very much for all that you do to teach us and keep us entertained! God bless! ~ Scott 💙🙏🏻
I AM a girl. And, I appreciate the way you share and show your deductive reason when solving an engine problem. I admire your knowledge and know how. Keep up the good work! 👍👍👍 And, know that you are educating Not just men but women Too! Thanks!😁😁😁
Derek, the amount of patience that you have for these projects where everything doesn’t work is astounding! You are a role model for me to be patient in the difficult situations. We love you and I hope your knee heals quickly!
When I was in high school I had a light blue Barracuda and I loved it. Watching this brought back a lot of memories and made me smile. I'm 76 now and nothing is any more fun than seeing your old memories come back to life. Thank you so much for making my day!!!
What a small world, my wife is 75 and she and I are watching this as she reminds me of her 1965 Barracuda she had in high school. You are right memories that we have keep us young.
This car and engine are near. And dear to my heart, I gotta hand-me-down from my parents who bought the car brand new and I put a new engine in it and I even got it to the point where I could take it to the local drag strip and just run I got I got about 13s in the quarter.
Pretty curious as to how many "bought & paid for vehicles " Derek has sitting in other people's yards all across this beautiful country... Thank you as always sir for all your hard work providing us with endless hours of entertainment.
Anyone else notice the oil change when he poured the oil from that gallon jug from a easy 14 inches high into the oil port without a funnel and did not spill any !! What amazing skill.... Love the vidoes ....
It really blows my mind how you can understand the complex workings of basically the entire engine, but something as simple as a digital multimeter is like alien technology to you.
If you go back for that old Ford truck. It would bring joy to my heart to watch you bring an old Y-Block Ford back to life. Thank you for these videos.
One of my favorites was him pulling the random carpet out of the trunk of one of the lesabre’s to lay on while working under the car. Derek: starts pulling it out Begins to cough and gag intensely! Derek: “abort! Abort!”😂 “Why do we say it’s chili? I like my chili pipe’n hot, it’s ice cream out here”
Derek is one of the hardest working individuals I have seen get ‘er dun and I’m in senior mananagment (spelled correctly). So glad he has the love for these cars!!
Derek, I am amazed at your patience. I have never been more angry with a car! I can’t believe you didn’t set it on fire and just walk away when the second starter gave up the ghost. Love the long form videos. Appreciate you. Thank you!
Derek, you are so right. Any day you wake up on the right side of the grass is a good day. I just got word that my Aunt Cheryl Comperchio passed away today. I didn't get to see her before she died because my stupid 08 Nissan Versa is too crappy to make the trip to Illinois. I'm going to borrow a car to go to her funeral. Don't know why I said all this, other than we all need to appreciate what time we have, and don't ever put off seeing your loved ones. Find a way to see them. You never know when someone's odometer is going to give out once and for all. I love your channel. You make the dark days bright for me.
This is one of the few channels that can post a two hour long video and I'll watch every second of it totally enthralled. Granted, I usually have to plan my viewings for a day off.
I've been watching since the Minnesota days, and you still have one of my favorite channels. I moved to Tennessee too, late last year. I tell people I'm an "escaped Yankee." It's amazing to me that you make longer videos than Hollywood does, and it's far better content. You're the only other guy I've heard say "the right side of the grass." It made me grin. I wish you continued success, you're a good feller, and a great family man. All the best to you and your family.
A: I didn't call Derek a "Yankee." Although Merriam-Webster's second definition of "Yankee" is: "a native or inhabitant of the northern U.S." 2: I'm not from Minnesota, although it's not unreasonable for you to infer such.
Derek, I grew up with a great backyard mechanic, my dad. I miss him everyday. I actually started getting back under the hood of old cars with my son, because of you giving me the confidence to just do it. When I watch you channel it brings me back, greatly appreciate you. I have watched every episode you post, keep them coming. Thank you
My dad has been gone since '89 and I think about him almost daily. I wish I had told him "Thank you!" for everything he taught me. I don't think he was ever prouder than when I won a bet that I could pull the engine and tranny out of my '70 Challenger in less than 45 minutes by myself. He instilled in me the two things that have kept me sane and relatively happy in my 61 years: motorcycles and Frisbee. I still do both almost daily. Dad would have loved VGG.
I'm sure none of us have any doubt that you work 7 days a week. I wish I had that kind of energy! But I'm an old feller. That being said, you owe yourself a nice vacation, Derek. Take a couple weeks, take the fam to Hawaii or something and enjoy the fruits of your labors. It would probably do some good for your injured knee, too. We will all still be here.
Pretty sure what separates VGG from the rest of us is PATIENCE, plus the ability to inject humor into situations most of us end up screaming and throwing stuff. Thanks for these valuable lessons.
My Dad had a 1966 Plymouth Barracuda forever. It was my first car to learn to drive on. 3 on the tree! 273 V8. Dad went home to heaven a couple years ago. I still have a lot of great memories in the Barracuda. I miss that car. This would be a great car to drive in town.
Yep as a 70 yr old you got me all pumped up on doing my own maintenance agin as I got most of your gear basics since JC Whitney orders in 1975 on. Gwanna teach my 17 yr old now whilst doing it. Highly recommend a good hot Finnish style steaming Sauna daily like Tucker Carson does. 20+ min day same as running fir the heart. Breathe thru wet washcloth dipped in bucket like a Finn. 160° water on rocks+. Sleep good. Cleans bod. Works heart.
My guy retired last year and is Finally working on his 64 Dodge dart. We learn so much from you every week. Thanks. You have inspired him to swap out the automatic push buttons to another slant 6 4 on the floor. Thanks.
4 of my first 5 cars were slant 6 Mopars. That ignition sound is unique and recognizable to anyone who formerly owned one. That motor was basically indestructible. There were two items that always arose to shut them down. The ballast resistor on the firewall, and the nylon gear in the distributor. Otherwise they would run no matter how much they were abused. My brother had a Barracuda of that year and the rear window was super expensive to replace for the times. Thanks for the memories!
TAKE A BREAK! You deserve it. Next week give us an update video. What's happening with past cars/projects? What cars/projects we might see again or some we may never see again? What happened with the Model A & T? Studebacher? Corvair? Camaros? Grand National? Mustang? Bricklin? Lumberghini? Boys trucks? Thanks for the content.
Yes, do some laid back videos as followups on some of the more worthy specimens on rusty acres or hubcap hills and engage Jessica and the three jr. Sasquatches and take it easy for a while to save on your knee! I severely damaged my left knee and ACL about 10 years ago and it happened at some turbulent times so I didn't acknowledge it and kept working and pushing it and had a bad, bad limp for almost 6 months and now I have to be really careful not to kneel and get the knee cold and wet. It also lead to me overloading the other good knee to make it also bad and prone to act up...
Derek, how lucky are you finding all these pieces of history. Hard to see what was once someone’s pride and joy, just left to rot away. Watching you deal with these Mopars really makes me appreciate workin on my Deville. Lol
One of the thing I love about VGG is that he works on anything. I've owned a little of everything myself, and like seeing that VGG does Interesting vehicles. Thank you Derek
Just got home from a brooks and dunn concert, and now I'm watching a new rescue. I don't even know what is going on with this friday but I like it. God is good.
Thanks Derek for your expertise in Automotive prowess!! The Baracuda needs no more than that 225. In and out can be cleaned up. I try to catch your show Buddy! GOD bless 🙌 all. Brother Jeff 🙏.
Derek.. Buddy... Mopar guy here.. Those front drums come off with the hub.. That's why the studs are pressed in there! Love your content bro! Keep the Mopars coming!
Derek, I turned 50 last wednesday. Things are breaking down man. We're old. Take care. When you mentioned the connection between this thing and a valiant of a similar vintage, I remembered when my father told me that he drove a 63 or 64 valiant in the early 70s. It was a very good car in his opinion. You see, he's gone now, and this video brought that back. I owe you one dude.
Im a 95 baby but grew up around this older vehicles and seeing them come back alive. Thank you for all your videos and helping us understanding it easyer lol hope to meet a guy like you someday VGG
I had a 225 in a Dodge Dart. I kept a rag under the hood for checking oil. One day the rag was missing, but I found it ground up and inside the alternator. Disassembled the alternator, removed the pieces and put t back together. It worked fine.
That's what I love about you Derek. You don't give up. I think I can speak on every ones behalf. Vgg is the best channel you could watch if you want to learn something about cars. Thank so much for your hard work you put into this show. God bless you and your family.
Been two years sober for me. Used to drink everyday for 14 years essentially. I don’t miss that poison one bit. Congratulations and don’t ever look back!
2 years sober here. Keep up the good work! VGG videos are so much better when I'm not 12 beers deep by the time they are done. Even better, I have time and the extra cash to work on my own projects.
Wow, a guy hasn't watched this painful of a revival in a while. I was definitely cringing for you on this one Derek. Content like this honestly has to encourage so many car enthusiasts out there while they deal with their own setbacks and struggles. Not only is your content entertaining, it is an encouragement to the rest of us. We struggle with our own projects where all we have is one car to deal with, then we watch you and you've got 3297 more projects to do in the next 2 weeks and you move along like "we'll just pretend that's okay." I can't say enough how awesome your content is. I have learned so much, and a lot of that learning has been just in the approach of things. No matter how much the obstacle seems to be insurmountable, you keep at it and somehow eventually figure it out. Keep at it Derek and family! Thanks so much for this awesome content!
You know I just realized why I like your videos so much. You struggle and do you best and you got ISSUE after ISSUE but you persevere and keep positive and just JOKE about it and keep the brainicle working and IMPROVE and SOLVE stuff and get VICTORY here and VICTORY there and it really lifts my spirit!!!!
I was running around doing stuff at the house ...I stop...to have a drink and I check my videos and yesssssssssss you show up with this one...and I just got done watching Tony work on his 55 Chevy...so let's see whatcha got here......first off ya can't go wrong with an old Barracuda.....an old Mopar like this is just the thing I needed to cheer up my day!
I had an old 60 Plymouth with same motor. When the rings wore out it acted the same way. I poured about half a coffee can of gear oil in it and drove it a few more weeks til I bought an old Buick skylark 68. The gear oil may have gotten you home. I love your determination and really appreciate your videos. Ty Derrick for loads of great entertainment. May want to give the family a day a week. They will be grown and gone faster than you can imagine ..lots of love
We all get older.. sometimes we gotta shift into another gear. You are one of the earliest, "Will it run and drive?" Sites, you and Mustie1 start a whole genre. Thanks for that.
You know a feller had about 10,000 subscriptions when I came aboard and here you are at 2 million pretty much. I'm surprised but I am very proud of you. Glad to have you in Tennessee.
What a great effort Derek! One of the best part of the video was when the grandson drove the car! You are a great example of someone that never gives up. This is one of the things my Dad taught me that you don’t give up! He showed me there is most always a way to get something done. You work with what you have to get a task done. Thanks for what you do and the example you are.
I nticed you using Gumout. That saved me buying injectors for my 5.9 Cummins . Had 300000 km on the engine and the injectors were pugged up pretty bad. I dumped 2 bottles of Gumout in the fuel tank , left the truck at the airport running like crap. it sat for 2 weeks whilei was on vacation . Came back and it fired up like new. That gumout must have sat in those injectors and ate for 2 weeks . amazing stuff. Didnt really have any faih utili tried it and was amazed at the result. Love your content, been watching from the get go
This one hit close to home for me. My Dad bought a 65 Formula S Cuda new. He drove that car for 30+ years. When I was born in December 66, I came home from the hospital in that car. I went on to drive that same car myself until I had to sell it. I've regretted that ever since. This video almost produced tears. This car is even the exact same color as mine. Despite the fact that this old girl fought you so hard, I'd still love to have it. You'll get that car running right. One day, with any luck, I'll have another one, and this time, it will stay with me in memory of my Dad. Thank you for the awesome video. I truly enjoyed it.
@@paulary5613 mine was a Formula S with the 273. Mine also had a black interior and has been on the road in the last 22 years. I must admit when I first saw the car I thought it could be mine. I'm from North Georgia and the old Cuda travelling to Florida would be plausible, but this one isn't it. I'd still love to have this one though.
Watching your channel inspires me. I have a 71 Jeepster commando sitting in my mom's garage that my family has owned for 45 years. It was my mom's car in the 80's, my high school rig in the 90's and it's been garaged since 2003. Watching these videos makes me think it's time to get it back on the road!
Do it. Once it runs well get the brakes bled and maybe the rubber hoses replaced. Same with the tires; don't make bets on them or the windshield wipers. Make sure the thing will drive around town properly before taking it too far.
Thanks for the "torch the gas tank pickup tube" trick! Was literally ready to fabricate a new tube for my 1948 Jeepster project when I saw you melt that tar out of the Barripoopa's pickup. Saved me time, money and headaches. Love your channel.
"Bamboozled" one of my favorite words. Great show Derek,I'm one of those Mopar nuts, restored them for 20 years. Your always smiling face and word in times of big problems really seem to carry you along. Best car show on UA-cam ,it's my lullaby to sleep.
Id expect nothing less from Derek. Great guy with even better products. I might buy some of his cleaner for my dirt bike for the hard parts to clean like my seat and the graphics and light. Not to mention my car seats that are stained with aircraft grease and other various chemicals
I have that same car!! Mine has been in a garage for over 40 years just waiting for me to bring her back to life!! She was my uncle's and I inherited her ! Someday I will have her running . That's my dream at least! Awesome show, thanks for posting this!
00:04 is the closest we'll get to seeing a classic VW on the channel 😭 please Derek id LOVE to see a beetle, type 3, bus, karmann revival even if it's only 200 miles home on back roads! You've done some odd flavors like a Saab and a bricklin I think that would be great to see! That aside I genuinely love your videos You're my favorite automotive UA-camr and inspire me to get out and work on my own cars.
I’m still gonna say this haunted 1965 Floridian Plymouth was one of the worst but best revivals I’ve seen. Even with torn PCL healing robotic knee, 2” thick piles of mouse death droppings and crazy weather situation creating mold patina plus just about anything that could go wrong went wrongg “that’s fine” you prevailed with wicked smarts and comedy.. and you did not quit 🎉the barracuda was back on the road!! Now I was elated you did not have to drive alll the way back to Tennessee because of.. well..health. And even happier the original son got to hope in and drive one last time after 22 yr!! and W❤W after that warsh down the red leather interior looked to die for. You’ Rock! Thanks for being you and sharing with us 🍻
Thank you so much for posting these family friendly automotive videos. I teach automotive repair skills to Boy Scouts and this my go-to channels for helping Scouts learn about how engines work and how to troubleshoot various problems. Your content keeps youth engaged and helps them learn how things work in a positive, entertaining format. Please keep up the good work. Your videos mean more than you might imagine.
Thanks for sharing the Oil-fuel mix for start up. Thats exactly what I use to grease the cylinders from sitting 2-20 years sitting. Your right on the washing the rings and ether or brake cleaner. Its to volatile. I use it as emergency if i flood the plugs or need to see if there's a spark. That's it
This is a perfect rig for a 340 four-speed , color is perfect , needs some old school Centerlines and BFGoodridge boots . Maybe traction bars? Fuzzy dice?
My late grandpa had this same body style of Barracuda, but white with the blue interior, and he had swapped the motor out for a v type, can't remember if it was a 6 or 8 cylinder. It got parked up somewhere in the mid-late 2000s, and it breaks my heart to know it's still sitting there uncared for. I'm only about an hour in but this has been nice to watch, even if it's a different car, it feels like the same spirit is living on. Thank you Derek!
My Dad had a 1964 and my brother and I spent many miles laying in the back, behind the seat looking up at the sky through that huge back window. I really miss those days, we had so much fun as kids.
Just dropped by to say that I love these episodes and the longer they are, the better I like them!... I really look forward to them on Fridays and I appreciate all the hard work!
Yup......MUCH Bett'r Than ANY Damn Movies Out Ther 2Day & NOT Filthy Either. The Language I Mean. A TRUE Good Fella is HARD 2FIND These Days. Yup, U Have a GREAT Day My Friend.💯😖🤙🥃🇺🇲🏴☠️
As a nearly 38 year resident of Pensacola I know exactly what you were feeling in the terms of heat, humidity and smell! After the first 5 years you grow your gills and that helps but you didn't have that type of time. Same humidity also means that any car that sits for too long (3 weeks or more) starts to become a petri dish / terrarium after a few rains unless it's in an enclosed garage. Then it takes 6 weeks! Congratulations on getting it moving again and look forward to seeing the solution to it's issues later.
Always good to see someone from kinda the same area. 22 years in mobile, Al, so I can confirm about the weather. All sorts of stuff grows on cars around here if you park them in the shade outside for a while.
Thank you Sir for your time and effort making these videos. It’s so great to watch someone with such a positive and cheerful attitude work on forgotten classics. Keep up the great work!
I owned a 1963 Plymouth Belvedere 50 years ago with a slant 6. Ugliest car I ever owned. My friends started calling me Ward Cleaver.(Beavers Dad always drove Mopars) I thought for sure this would be your easiest ride home yet. The slant 6, while not powerful was a very deprndable and nearly indestructible powerplant. Both of my old Mopars had the push button automatic transmission. I hope you get the old Barracuda sorted out. The old slant six cars were really a joy to drive (as lomg as you weren't in a hurry) Cheers
This has to be the most ornery revival I’ve seen you manage! You are a persistent man. This is why these rigs sit and your vast knowledge saves another one. Still the hardest working man on UA-cam!
I bought a 1980 dodge d300 dump truck the other day, Derek you’ve inspired me to fix an ole going to town rig myself!! Got my 12 year old son involved! He loves cars and gear head stuff! Thanks VGG for all the positive content and God bless!
Dude a feller is about the hit that 2 MILLION SUBSCRIBERS . THAT IS AWESOME FOR YOU AND YOUR FAMILY. FOR ALL YOUR MISSED FAMILY TIME. YOU DESERVE IT DEREK
Thank you
Could even enjoy another mail opening, event updates, cold snack video like you haven't done in a long time as a vacation. Always enjoyed those.
Nothing else a guy would rather do on a Friday evening than check out a fresh VGG episode with a six pack. Im loving it
I try to beat my friend to the new one and let him know it's on before he lets me know. I did, however, look on vgg to see if he had a new one he did not, so I went and watched his sons LGG. Then, after watching his sons, then vgg had a new one up.
Yes l love these episodes
It’s not. A vlog it’s a movie
Oh Jesus
🕊️❤️👍
Nothing tops a Friday with Derek performing his rescue magic, of those sleeping old girls from their long years of sleep. The best it gets for an old feller like me !
That's awesome I have a 1970 f100 ranger short bed that was my grandpa's white red white color short bed with the 360!❤
Derek, pretty obvious that you are a committed, dedicated, driven Father, husband and mechanic…. But for God sake you need to SLOW down. We fans aren’t going anywhere…Please take a day off. Love all you do, thanks.
Ditto
My sentiments exactly 👍
He hides it well, but I've noticed in the last couple of videos that he's pretty stressed out. He definitely needs some time off. He could do a vlog video or two if he's worried about keeping up with the algorithm.
I’m very much getting the same feeling.
Love his videos, and I’m going anywhere either. Definitely has earned some R and R.
im 58 and watched this with my 81 year father .
he had an identical one with a v8
i remember riding in the back with my best friend looking at stuff out that large back window.
it was in perfect shape back in the early 70s.
my dad now loves your show .
we shared some great memories watching this one .
THANK YOU SO MUCH BROTHER 👍
Belly buttons are my favorite body part
If a movie is 2.5 hours long there's a good chance I won't bother with it yet I'll clear my schedule and/or postpone the night's plans as soon as I see there's a 2.5 hour rescue with Derek. Thanks for dragging a guy out for another awesome rescue.
Same
💯%!!
Yes sir!!
You know it is a good revival when a feller burns thru one of his air pods and has to switch to the other. Good reason to only use one at a time.
Not me. I only watch the first 5 minutes and the last 5 minutes.
Cheers
Damn ive done that out of ignorance but luckily no accident, wont do it again
Those old hydrogen fuel cells need a vacuum line run to them 😂
@@neuroleptika It sounded like a bomb going off.... no kidding.
I couldn't agree more Jimi. This also comes from experience of trying the same stupid stunt with a hammer. The post by Jimirox should be pinned as it could save a life or two as well as a persons vision.
Will this happen with a brand new battery?
About to hit 2 MILLION SUBS. Cant think of a guy who deserves it better er. Man you do what you love and get to do it for humans that you love more er. What a dream. Hope all your humans understand why you do this and its all for them.. GOD BLESS YOU. Thanks for all the content and time you give.
And over 57,000 views in an hour. He has it figured out..
How about that? Seems like he just hit one million subscribers yesterday and just like that he is leaning hard on hitting TWO MILLION!!
Not to mention the balls it takes to attempt some of the craziness he tries and the work it takes to make these videos. Hard work!, dedication!!
I subbed to this channel when he had maybe 10k subs at the most. So cool to see it evolve and keep growing.
Been here from the start. Great guy
I like it when a guy finds the more unusual cars to rescue. I’m a Lady that has restored one car and is working on a second one.But I’m a special kind of masochist in that I have really odd British cars. But I really enjoy watching you save these cars.
Nobody does these old rescues better than you!
Number one reason why I love your channel!
Wow, thank you!
Yea I have literally tried watching so many different channels out there but never get but a few minutes in before I'm done and Derek is the only one that keeps you engaged all video long... he's def the GOAT of car rescues/revivals... 🐐 🚗 🔧🍻🇺🇸
Derek has become synonymous with 'revival'. He has surpassed every other channel.
cleet an squirrel nippin at his heels though.
@@ViceGripGarageYou obviously covered this car in moss and lichen...😂😂😂 the old threw dirt on a car comments!
What a ball buster of a revival…both the car and the environment you had to work in. What perseverance!
Yep,, there's no GIVE UP in our guy Derek,,, he NEVER gives up if there's even a ONE IN A THOUSAND CHANCE to get his acquisition back to the Bieri shop.
I always loved the revivals where it doesn't work out, and he buys some other hunk to drag the first one home, The old 2Birds to one home!🤣
INTERGALACTIC treasure! I'm sitting here on the northwestern edge of Andromeda and even the fellers out here can't repair a automobile like this man

Amazing content that's impossible to stop watching !
Again a great video !
It's 7am. Just got up! Glad it didn't see it before I went to bed! 😂
I'm on the west coast of California, it's 3:28 am. I'll be watching until the end, unless I don't.
Man I really hope you choose to take a break soon. You look exhausted. We have more than enough content to keep us busy while you take some time with the family. Im dealing with burn out myself. Please take a break man your amazing and we appreciate everything you do!
I came here to say the same thing! I agree.
dude got a wife and 2 kids at home and he been spending 4 half days a month with them. thats kinda sad tbh.
Yeaaaa or it’s the cold snacks. They have that effect on the best of us. Right @vicegripgarage ?
I agree but let me tell you Florida will take it all out of you. I’ve lived here my whole life and have a garage. Don’t touch my cars from late may till after August. Just too much heat and humidity to breath
VGG has the only comment section where no one is arguing or critical. Love when people can agree on something. And I guess we all agree on big love for Derek and VGG.
50 miles from my home, and I didn't even know you were coming. Gotta say this is my favorite channel. I'm retired twice and do nothing but watch you tube.
Vice Grip Garage, the only UA-cam channel a person needs.
Much appreciated!
@@ViceGripGarage all of us Vice Grippers really appreciate what you do!

It was great to see you in Iola! Thank you for autographizing my license plate. It now proudly hangs in my shop forever.
God bless! ~ Scott 💙🙏🏻
Thanks so much!!
Me too.I've been paralyzed since 2017.That's when I started watching youtube and he was the first person that I subscribe to
I AM a girl.
We love you and I hope your knee heals quickly!

yah.. patience amazing

Doesnt swear or throw tools around...NOTHIN'. 😂😂
I like how he tries to keep it fresh. And it's awesome that doing the pre trip shipment is working out so well. Except it's Mopar 😊
I'm guessing all of them lol.. that is a good question. He probably doesn't even know... Lol
You would have to ask Jessica! 😅 she does the books.
I can't help but think we might see the old ford parked here again in the future.

Dare I say “ The godfather of an engines soul”
Anyone else notice the oil change when he poured the oil from that gallon jug from a easy 14 inches high into the oil port without a funnel and did not spill any !! What amazing skill.... Love the vidoes ....
It really blows my mind how you can understand the complex workings of basically the entire engine, but something as simple as a digital multimeter is like alien technology to you.
If you go back for that old Ford truck. It would bring joy to my heart to watch you bring an old Y-Block Ford back to life. Thank you for these videos.
Been subscribed for years--throwing the bad voltage meter in the dirt is an all time favorite!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Smashing those things when they don't work really empty's out the anger. 'Course you can't do that with a real one. Them some buck$.
I laughed so hard that was great
had me in tears. "my meter broke somehow, so i've got my backup" 😂
"what kind of mickey mouse junk is this?"
One of my favorites was him pulling the random carpet out of the trunk of one of the lesabre’s to lay on while working under the car.

I'm not doubting your work because I'm seeing you do a lot of stuff with cars and got them started even sitting so long
Derek,
I am amazed at your patience.

I don't think MN is "yankee" though--it's the midwest! Yankees are northeast.
Thanks and welcome to TN
A: I didn't call Derek a "Yankee." Although Merriam-Webster's second definition of "Yankee" is: "a native or inhabitant of the northern U.S." 2: I'm not from Minnesota, although it's not unreasonable for you to infer such.
Derek,
I grew up with a great backyard mechanic, my dad.
I'm so happy. Last weekend l spent 3 hours with a guy while he revived that 81 lmperial. Now, over 2 hours of this Barracuda! I love this guy!!
I was a long haul trucker for 22 years thanks for all videos I had 2 strokes one day I’ve been off work
I'm sure none of us have any doubt that you work 7 days a week.

Great idea.
Yeah that's a great idea!
Rusty Acres is filled with lots of Content.
He needs to do something that gives a little rest, you can he's kinda tired plus he is hurt.
Derek, how lucky are you finding all these pieces of history. Hard to see what was once someone’s pride and joy, just left to rot away. Watching you deal with these Mopars really makes me appreciate workin on my Deville. Lol
I love the fact you let the grandson drive it! Awesome memory for him and all of us that have cars we never got a chance with.
One of the thing I love about VGG is that he works on anything. I've owned a little of everything myself, and like seeing that VGG does Interesting vehicles. Thank you Derek

We all get older.. sometimes we gotta shift into another gear. You are one of the earliest, "Will it run and drive?" Sites, you and Mustie1 start a whole genre. Thanks for that.
There are will it run sites that are 15 years old. VGG was not the first. Cold War Motors was doing will it run videos 14 years ago.

Remember, even Derek failed on this one.
Thanks for the "torch the gas tank pickup tube" trick! Was literally ready to fabricate a new tube for my 1948 Jeepster project when I saw you melt that tar out of the Barripoopa's pickup. Saved me time, money and headaches. Love your channel.

What's the delay?
The drive home is the best part but you can't expect it every time. Fun to watch getting it back to life.
You’ Rock!
Fuzzy dice?
I’ve always liked these Barracuda’s. Love the fact that you treat all these great old cars equally!
You're an inspiration. This country boy loves you.
Come on! He gave Randy an Heirloom drive?!
WHY CAN'T I LIKE THIS TWICE?!

Hey Derek, it's okay to take a break... we'll still be here when you return... Wishing you the best.
