Yes...that trophy, it took over 30 of them for that one to appear for me.
That chest near the base, fml, 3 or 4 times it’s crossed my mind to destroy that thing 😂
I don’t know what I can use their parts for yet, so we’ll see…
I don’t know what it is about trophy drops. Maybe they tweaked the drop rate?

Onions are a great food, so absolutely the right approach to start mass production of them.
Between 80-90 silver per vein is pretty typical for silver. Would also add that the gravity / support (or lack there of) mechanics work much better for silver veins…

I had no idea some of these trophies were so rare, they seem to drop quickly 😬

Some great finds this episode! The silver and onion seeds are huge of course, but it's worth mentioning that the golem trophy is particularly rare--and very cool-looking. Try attaching it to a horizontal item stand. ;)
Good call on prioritizing bulk production of onions over crafting with them. The nice thing about onion soup is that it's 100% self-sustaining once you're growing enough onions--it requires no meats or other secondary ingredients.
Can't wait until you get that silver home and see what it unlocks!
I think golem trophies are a 1% drop rate, have only ever found 4 of them after far too many hours playing this 😂😂
I don’t know what it is with trophies, I seem to have incredible luck with them. I have a feeling I’ve been neglecting a trophy room based on your comment 😅
Oh yeah, I won’t make that mistake again, the onions went straight into the dirt. I love that they don’t require other components for the soup, it’s an easy win.
I’m excited for what the silver may reveal, perhaps I’ll finally be able to craft jewelry!
@@Blondefire_HeyBlondieYou lucked out with the Draugr Elite trophy as well, since it's required in order to even know how to craft the iron sledge at all.
Good stuff. Yes, you got about an average amount of silver from 2 veins. The few "out of place" silver ore pieces that suddenly appeared on the ground were there because you apparently hit a soft spot on the vein, that partly "burst" resulting in the loose pieces appearing above on the ground. You can explode the whole vein in a couple of hits if you dig all around it first so that it touches the ground only in one "anchor" point (or sometimes completely floats in the air). It is the quickest way how to mine silver, and also the most pickaxe durability saving way because the surrounding mountain rock is softer than silver vein (silver veins wear pickaxe down really fast). Episode's highlight - one castle successfully demolished by the joint efforts of Blondie and golem.
Ordinarily I would mine around and under the vein per copper mining, but that mountain was pretty relentless with its spawns and I wanted it done quickly.
Tag team with a golem? I reckon we could farm a lot of resources that way 😋
Mr Golem did a nice job of keeping drakes and wolves off you while you mined! You don't have to kill them . . . as long as they can't get to you or your stuff just let them be (you had the second one stuck in a pit until you killed it with arrows 😉)
Also, there is a limit of how many golems can spawn in a certain area. If you have one safely fixed in a pit, there is a high chance that no more golems will spawn nearby.
He was almost my pet for a while 😋
I didn’t realise the respawns were so vicious. I’ll definitely be using tricks to contain them next time, this ep was crazy.
@@Blondefire_HeyBlondieIn my first game I had one such pet besides my Mountains castle. Worked as a lightning rod against drakes. I guess it is still there, I have not visited that map for quite some time.

Golems are great for mining! Just need to figure out whether I can make him a pet 🤔
Great stuff...I swear you really did get the shit end of the rng stick..4 of them... 2 is normal for me but that was extracting the urine, imo. I agree....get the ore off the mountain asap to a safe spot, preferably as soon as you finished mining the vein. Better to lose a little time rather than waste a lot trying to move several chests of it on a single run. Looking forward to the future episodes in the mountains. The music for the biome is rather chill given the dangers in it. So I built a small cabin just to chill out and listen to in when storms happen. Very relaxing.
With some planning you can take stuff from 3-4 silver veins down the mountain at once without too much trouble. The easiest way is to load a cart and then just push it down the steepest slope that reaches other biome (usually black forest) - or just pull it down if the slope is not so steep. I have never bothered to carry down silver little by little, but always thought of some ways how to do it effectively and safe enough (if not processing it up there without the need to carry anything down; I like Mountain bases).
Yes, the drakes seem rabid and drawn to the loot. It’ll be much harder to recover the items from a busted chest if they roll downhill.
I like the idea of a cabin in the hills. Something worth investigating?
Yes it is, but...pick a place that has no drakes nearby. The last thing you want is those things gobbing blue crap while you build. The next 2 things I would suggest is, 1...build it large enough to have a teleporter in and 2, surround it with 3-4 layers of spikes. That way if a hunt happens it will tire itself out on those rather than attacking you,. You can ride it out in relative safety. BTW...check your build menu, I think you missed something important.

@@Blondefire_HeyBlondieMountains is one perfect place where you can very easily build the most protected base without any high fences or spikes, just using and improving the natural defences - vertical cliffs and non-climbable boulders. Out of reach for any non-flying enemy - wolves included. Drakes sometimes are slightly annoying but you can make sure they do not spawn near your base/outpost, then you will have to deal only with occasional vagrants. I personally like drake spawns because I am always running out of freeze glands, so I use any opportunity to get them.
Drakes: Annoying as all hell.. agreed. But the frost glands, hoard them like crazy as they produce the frost arrows, which are the best in the game. Also for now obsidian arrows are good standard arrow and obsidian is plentiful. Flint arrows are meadows tier and should have been retired a long time ago.
I’m collecting a lot of obsidian and not seeing much other use for it, I was kinda thinking the same. It’s hard to commit without the power of foresight. 😝

Oh hell yeah, I won’t disagree with that. They’re dense but much easier to work around.
Dodge roll: really need to learn this skill bud. The more you practice it the easier it gets. You can dodge roll the golem's attacks and end up right behind him and smack him around.. totally untouched. With later mobs in later biomes its almost a necessity.
I’m not a fan of that dodge roll. It’s fiddly and only seems to trigger some of the time.
