I like seeing the build process. I do discover little bits that I didn't know.
I feel like each build ep is constantly redefining my understanding of how this system works. 😅
I come from a country where there is a lot of castles. A lot. I am looking at one from my office window. I was born under one. I spent not insignificant amount of time walking up the hills (and a cliff face one time) to many different ones. I lost virginity in the ruins of a castle. Yet I have never seen such a roof on any of them. Long line of my ancestors, laboring for one castle owner or another, are now crying in disgust.
Pretend it’s not there. It eases the pain 🤣
@@Blondefire_HeyBlondie But it is still there. I can feel it in my bones. The castle speaks to me and It speak of pain and suffering and shame. It dreams of rafters and shingles, majestic slopes and pointy spires.. And it got skylight roof of a 1912 warehouse in Leicester...
The rafters still need to go in. As for shingles, it still might. I need to recheck the source material.
I enjoy the build videos. But I am really, really, (and I mean this in all sincerity) REALLY looking forward to the rebuild videos. Because you will.

Couple of Tips:
For walls and/or structural/load bearing elements,
start at the ground and work up.
Sky hooks aren't real :P
And
For roofs, start at the outside and work in,
it's easier to fudge the peak/middle than it is
to fudge the the corners/edge/gable/eaves.

I’d also need to know how to tether the stone because simply imposing stone over an iron beam doesn’t appear to do jack. There are clearly fine rules that I’m not able to easily easily discern.
I’m my defense, I’m also drawing experience from other games where building is gamified. Building is also heavily gamified in Valheim, albeit in different ways which make more sense to the flow. I’m sure a lot of people sign into these eps to see if I can haul a victory out of what appears to be inevitable failure.
The roof situation was always going to require additional overlap on one side. It’s a handy tip for other builds though. I think I crafted the stay-in base roof that way.
Stone flooring also qualifies as a roof. You can go all stone for castles.
But I still have no idea what structure you are trying to duplicate
Trying to put stone on top could be more trouble than it’s worth.
I just watched your first video in this series, I was curious how you're making out now. Looks like you came a long way from your humble little shack by the stream
