I had one like that and it was very painful , it came up out of nowhere where and got huge and sore very fast . When my Dr got it out for me she got sprayed lol , it went everywhere

This is what sets Dr M apart from all the others.... Apart from the unavoidable squirting ( nifty footwork getting out of way 👍) there's no blood or "smooch" flowing down the patient's back & not a hint of panic as everything is caught & cleanly removed .... Clear simple aftercare instructions given & it's all done... Nice one Doc.... Are those large DPOW going to be removed?

Yes! Classic Mudgil Monday👍. There was a lot of schmutz (is that a technical term?) in that cyst that went all over the place - you may need to repaint 😁. Great job as usual, I'm sure your patient feels much better. How old was that cyst?
It was a messy one, for sure! It was pretty old (many, many years) but recently became inflamed. My lovely patient feels much better. ;)

That was great! I'm surprised though that there was no packing and it to keep it open and keep it draining. Also yes I can't wait to see those giant DPOWS removed!!! 🎉🎉🎉🎉
I never pack - it's not necessary for this sort of thing. The incision wasn't sutured to allow for continued draining. My wonderful patient did great. Stay tuned for the DPOWs ... ;)

What happens to the sac in a cyst of that size? Is there one? Is it something you get at another visit
Good question. This cyst was very inflamed and painful - this procedure was just to provide him immediate comfort. We'll see what remains in the coming weeks and determine if any next steps are required. ;)
I would question why you wouldn't remove sac wall in entirety, assuming it was still intact.
Especially one of that size and considering age of relatively elderly patient.
Plus, added benefit of viewing removal of both sac and DPOWs, (hint, hint), would be excellent!

Without reviewing video to confirm, I assume cyst wasn't infected, as I understand that removal of sac is not usually done on abscessed cysts due to sac wall being compromised.

It was way to0 inflamed to do a complete excision - this was just to provide my patient immediate relief. We'll see what needs to be done when he comes back in.

I'm a former Navy Corpsman and medical assistant. If I cant smell it, i am not grossed out .
I'm always amazed at the human body and the ability to heal after didease and injury. We can go through a lot and b ounce back. (Unfortunately xmfor some that's not aways the case. ) I'm glad yo have been able to provide comfort and relief for the sick and injured. Due to my own disability, I'm no longer able to work in health care. The blessing is in otherwise ali e and well.
I like medical videos. I like seeing competent providers perform procedures that make people feel better. Thats what it is all about.

They actually didn’t bother him, and he was in a lot of pain from his acutely inflamed cyst, which is why he came in. Should I have treated them against his will? 🤔
