I own the LG UP875 player and it's quiet as a mouse, LG resolved the disc noise issues on post August 2017 builds. The UP875 was LG's entry-level model from last year and lacks Dolby Vision (HDR10 only), apps, and Wi-fi entirely, plus no HDMI audio output. This year's UBK80 is bizarrely the same as the UP875.

Hey Shane, Should I just worry about using the correct picture mode on my calibrated tv or match the tv picture with the 4K player picture setting? I assume it is mainly dependent on how good a picture your tv can give? Would you say leave the player on standard? Of all the picture settings I notice there seems to be a loss of shadow detail in movie mode. Is this maybe suppose to be this way? Like maybe movie mode is making those specific areas darker because they are suppose to look that way? Standard and user setting(default settings) are pretty close but bring back that detail. However the image is brighter and not as pleasent as the slightly dimmer movie mode. I fooled around a bit in user settings but could not find one I liked. Going on past experience I understand why Film mode is dimmer, I just want to make sure I am getting the best possible way of viewing. I am using the player with a Samsung smart tv. I have heard this tv is not top of the line so.

I connected it at home to my Hisense 55H9Eplus that I have had for about a month. The only 4k content I have had to feed it was Netflix. My only player before this was a Sony hdmi up-convert changer. Gabe Trinidad never, never, never really know how long one must wait for DV Disc playing to Sony TV's. No matter what Sony saids. 2016 Sony Z9D owners been promised DV since near mid year 2016. X800 peoples had hopes UP for DV for near a year. TCL, Vizio, LG TV's can do DV. LG, Phillips, Oppo disc players can do DV. SONY you just never know. I have two Sony TV's. Few Sony disc players. I find it best regards Sony DV... You'll See It WHEN you see it.
If next generation Sony TV's don't accept all brands DV Disc players witthout low latency DV... then Sony TVs will have a very small and tight set of buyers. Thats Self Kill Marketing.

Damn that sucks. I have the A8F now. I hope the future DV update allows for multiple DV devices to work...
Sony owners - we’ll have to wait for the summer update to the new Sony 4k player for Dolby Vision via 4k disc on our TVs... Oppo was/is working on a Sony DV update for their players.
Great review
I need one of this, since my ps4 does not Run 4K movies :/
Why did you turn off dynamic compression off?
It softens the audio.
