Evthing would be plugued to my Yamaha AV receiver with HDMI btw, so top quality sound. SO UB820 or UB9000 ? Or is there is a new one coming to the market I'd wait for, whatever the brand, or is Panasonic the top leader that really has evthing ? Thanks for the help. PS : I do have the LG 65" E6V TV.

Just purchased. Your hdmi hookup? If my receiver is hooked up to arc on tv, would you just run one hdmi cable from 4k player to receiver, or one cable to tv then audio hdmi to receiver?
depends on what your receiver will process. if it is a newer unit with 4k passthrough and dolby vision hdr+ etc etc then yes hook up straight to receiver then from receiver to tv. if like me you have an older receiver then you will want to go hdmi video out on the player to tv and audio out on player to your receiver for full 7.1 and the best tv picture.
Hi, if I play movies via usb will the video processing of the player come into effect, or it's limited to movies played via bluray disc. I appreciate your help. Thanks

I’m wondering how this ($400 now) compares to the SONY 1100ES ($500 now) for playing music, BluRay audio, Atmos Music, and most importantly 2 channel music via RCA outputs?

@@therealshanelee have you gotten a chance to compare two? Sorry if the questions sound silly. And how does streaming off the Panasonic compare to the streaming off the app on the tv?
How often do companies release new blu ray players? I’m considering this unit but it’s been out for a few years. Should I wait for a potential new model?
Do you know if eARC can be supported by this? eARC is turned on with my tv and all my native apps use Atmos, but my Xbox one X and this player will not use Atmos unless hooked up directly to my Atmos soundbar.
thank you for your review Small / large technical question: I have a samsung qe75q90r tv which is not dolby vision, only hdr10 +. If I buy a dolby vision 4k bluray player like ub820 that decodes these metadocos, would I have the dolby vision equivalent on my TV? In a way, it is the player that will dynamically send the contrasting image to the TV that does not display it. Thank you

Hi @SpareChange! I'm hoping if you could throw me a hint with this. I recently bought this 4K Blu-ray player and connected the device to my Panasonic TC-43FX500L TV, which is available to Latin America. I did all the settings, and it looks fine when reproducing 4K UHD discs. However, I tried to reproduce HDR video content on Netflix (from the device), but the color got inverted (only blacks and whites). I freaked out and believed it was a defect within the new 4K player; nevertheless, I read on the owner's manual that when the unit is connected to a TV that doesn't support HDCP2.2, it may not be possible to view Netflix (I'm still able to see Netlfix in the sense there are no black screens or error messages). The troubleshooting guide suggests to change HDCP output setting to HDCP1.4 Limit and what happened is that HDR video content changed to HD (not HDR). Do you think my TV doesn't support HDCP2.2? I'm not sure if this has to do with the factory settings, but it seems the problem is with HDR video content from Netflix. Also, the plan I have for Netflix is the one that includes Ultra HD when this is available, and I'm using the appropriate HDMI cable from Fusion4K, so my guess is with the 4K TV compatibility. Thank you!
Hi. Is it possible to establish an "standard" with the HDR optimizer using a projector? I wouldn't want to play with whites and blacks on every movie. Any movie you recommend for an only-once calibration on a 4K HDR projector?
Hi don’t know if you will see this but there is a standard mode you can use for hdr. As for the second part of your question I recommend a calibration disk to adjust picture however if you put your projector in movie/calibrated mode it will do most of the work. Movie and calibrated are the same just different TVs use different names
Hello! I just bought this as an upgrade to my previous 4K player. I installed the same way my last one was. HDMI Video/Audio Out plugged directly into my TV. Unfortunately on many of my movies the video is now slightly lagging the audio. This never happened with my previous player. Any idea what’s causing this, or how to fix it? Thanks!

Use with my JVC 2000 projector so like can select projector mode. JVC rep , Chris told me to turn off HDR optimizer since JVC firmware 3.5 is frame adapt HDR. Still have my Oppo modified for flicks from United Kingdom, region B. Upscale blurays to 4K nice
Hy, I own an Oppo 203 with a Sony AF8 Calibrated Oled. I'm curious if any of the new uhd players on the market right now, are better than 203, regarding picture quality. Also I'm curious if any other player can add external subtitles via USB like Oppo does. Thanks
Hello sorry for my writing because I wrote in translator. I have a doubt with this panasonic dp-ub820 and I have a hdr optimizer. Do you know if you open an update to optimize Dolby Vision?
Mine isn’t noisy either; however when it’s super quiet can hear very faint, slight clicking sound every so often, with multiple blu rays
I have no sound coming from CD, BD 4k audio is fine. I see nothing in the manual for this specifically. HDMI is the only output I’m using.
So Which Picture settings are we supposed to use ??, the TV's or the Player''s ??
What’s a good HDMI to use on it?
How does this compare to playing 4K discs off a ps5? And how’s the image for streaming from this player vs straight from the tv app?
PS5 is a gaming console first and foremost. Not a movie playing device for serious home theater setups.
@@therealshanelee have you gotten a chance to compare two? Sorry if the questions sound silly. And how does streaming off the Panasonic compare to the streaming off the app on the tv?
@@therealshanelee and thanks for the help
How often do companies release new blu ray players? I’m considering this unit but it’s been out for a few years. Should I wait for a potential new model?
Wondering the same thing. Tried the Sony 800M2 but it keeps locking up and looking for something else.
Thanks what I'm also wondering.
I'm playing dark knight on this but will only play english descriptive. When I choose english stereo it comes out silent. What am I doing wrong.
Do you know if eARC can be supported by this? eARC is turned on with my tv and all my native apps use Atmos, but my Xbox one X and this player will not use Atmos unless hooked up directly to my Atmos soundbar.
Thanks for the review .
thank you for your review
Small / large technical question:
I have a samsung qe75q90r tv which is not dolby vision, only hdr10 +.
If I buy a dolby vision 4k bluray player like ub820 that decodes these metadocos, would I have the dolby vision equivalent on my TV?
In a way, it is the player that will dynamically send the contrasting image to the TV that does not display it.
Thank you
for a 21:9 what 4k player do you think is the best out there being Oppo is not making them anymore? Thanks
Just got this player last week my model was made in July 2019 BTW awesome review also any recommendations on best setting besides the default settings
What HDR tv type luminance is right for Samsung RU8000?
JVC rep suggested to turn off HDR optimizer when using JVC frame adapt & select display - projector
Yes
How does hdr compare to ub900 and its magic chipset? Also my ub900 looks different than my 4k oppo. Does it look more like the ub900 or oppo?
what about the sound? I've been looking at the ub900 for audio, is this comparable?
Yeh, the audio.
I have an epson 5040ub projector that has built in HDR settings.Looking to upgrade my samsung 4k player bought back in 2016. How will this player affect those settings? should i turn the settings off in projector and see how the player handles HDR ?
I'm getting the panasonic!!! What setting should I use on my epson 4050 projector?
Hi when I put blu ray disc in how I know if it's upscaling to 4k I see on top right corner but won't let me select 4k unless it's automatic
Your tv will will automatically upscale.
I bought Mt 820k today and it won't play Amazon prime video hdr shows in hdr but only in uhd. UA-cam and Netflix no issues. Please help, thank you.
It is what it is. It's not a good streamer. Get an Apple TV if you want reliable streaming.
@@therealshanelee it sucks, I have apple 4k.i wish there was a solution for this. Now I have to bring it back to the best buy and may be get the Sony es. Netflix and UA-cam looks great on it though.
@@therealshanelee I actually figured how to fix it.i needed to set the dolby vision settings off. Then I could watch prime video's in Hdr.
Can you pair your bluetooth headphone to the player?
1st . Great video my man.
Que reproductor de bluray 4k hdr me recomiendas LG, Sony, Samsung o oppo
Thanks!
I am having the same kind of problem now after upgrading my TV. The UB820 didn't have any issues before with my old TV (Sony X900F) so I am not sure what's causing it. Were you able to work it out?
Thinking about getting 4k Blu Ray player. Can the Panasonic DP-UB820 play region free Blu Rays?
