Modern pop is objectively lacking - no intros, no solos, little distinction between verses and choruses, no surprise factor, dumbed down melodies, no key changes. Music from the 80's was more sophisticated and will stand the test of time. Current pop won't.

I never thought the music was that great in the 80s. It was just producer driven evolutionary music, but what the times did have was a huge breadth of music and styles and no sound defined the times. In total, it really was a great time for music.

This is actually a very good performance. Not all Live Aid acts can say that.

i m still astonished, at how good 80s music was.....this one is one of those experimental pop songs ,which left me dreaming...the melody, the dynamics, the different instruments complementing each others....i m glad to be born in 72 and being grown up during the 80s ....

I remember being 17 and sitting with my boyfriend, and future husband watching this all day long. What an amazing thing to have witnessed. ❤

The summer before my senior year of high school, what a magical time to be a teenager, and the music was performed without auto tune, no lip synching, and the artists actually played their instruments...wonderful memories
