What a fantastic tutorial. No annoying music, Clear and detailed instructions - in perfect English. You explained what you were doing and why at every step. Thank you so much. I can't wait to try this technique.
I have seen many panelling methods but I’ve never seen the upside down pinching it together method. I use this method all the time for square cakes when you pinch the side together with two fondant smoother‘s, and then it just kind of just pinches it right off on the square cakes, or anything that has edges, but not with an upside down panelling method and this is just brilliant usually you just cut out a circle and stick it on top but this pinching Method is brilliant! thank you for the help! making my daughter very difficult Rapunzel cake for her 18th birthday and it’s been quite challenging for me and the biggest thing I was afraid of was how the heck I was going to fondant the cake cause I’m not good at it but now I have a chance of finally making it look right!!! You should win award for this tip!!
Thank you so much for a great tutorial. I tried this today and it work, it was a heart shape cake so l was not even sure l could make it work, but it did. I will be using this way all the time now. I actually did a happy dance around my kitchen, 🤣 Thank you again.
What an excellent tutorial. After watching you I can't wait to try out my first fondant cake. I feel more confident that I know what to do now. I guess this method would work for rolled buttercream as well which I also intend to try soon. Thank you. 💐
As soon as you flipped the cake i said NO WAY! beautiful job, but there is no way i could do that or the ganache done before. this is more for an experienced cake decorator. but thank you! such talent!
Amazing method! I struggled with the normal draping the fondant over the cake and nearly gave up, but once I used your advice this method worked really well, thanks so much 😀
I am excited to try this technique. Despite the fact that the video loses its sound at 9 1/2 minutes, the visual instruction without sound is still understandable. Thank you for making this so easy.
Amazing!!! This push me to start my own YT channel and teach the Beginners too on how to make a cake toppers put of fondant without using any expensive tools.
I cant thank u enough for this video,,, oh my god its a life saver,, i was struggling and my fondant kept on cracking,, almost gave up then i tried ur method and oh god what a beautiful easy way and amazing crisp edge 😘😘😘
So I've finally tried your method. And for the first time after so many years of imperfect edges, success. Your method works. But very important that the base (buttercream or ganache) is smooth. Which is another tricky thing to do 😓 Thank you 💐💐💐💐
Thank you for sharing your knowledge Lucia. I have always struggled with creating sharp edges, but following your instructions and using your techniques, my cake turned out perfectly. The best I've ever created. A HUGE THANK YOU!! It did take to me two attempts to roll the fondant around the cake successfully though. I did find that awkward, but with more practice I'll get there 😄
I will surely try your method next time for a better edges, I always struggled for a proper edges coz i don't have all the tricks for it. Thanks a lot for your video and explication.
Perfect tutorial,it's really amazing 🔥 I'll try this method on a birthday cake I need to decorate tomorrow. You're the best, keep up with the good work.
This video is Amazing! Your a natural 🥰Thank you so much. I have just tried your technique (was terrified 😂) but it’s by far the sharpest edges I have ever got xx
MileBian by Lucía Loro Yes agreed. Appreciate more English tutorials. I should also mention that I’ve enjoyed your work on Cakes Decor, where I am a member. You’re very talented.
I have watched many, many “sharp edges”/panelling” tutorials. I have to say, this has been the most comprehensive explanation, with wonderful visuals to achieve the outcome. I also do the upside down method, but I’ve now learned some new tricks from you to help me. I especially like your idea of adding a ring holder to the acetate smoother. I love my acetate smoothers, but my biggest annoyance is that they tend to slip out of your hand. And I’ve always used a pizza cutter to remove my fondant. I can see that the craft knife has a much sharper blade to remove excess fondant. I have a craft knife, don’t know why I never thought to use it this way. Definitely will be trying this. 🥰
Thank you. 🤩 I always covered the Cake with one piece of Fondant and it wasnt perfect. I have to do a Wedding Cake in a few weeks and I think with your technique it will be a perfect Cake. 😊👍🏻😎 Thank you 😊
