- Learn how I get the sharp edges on cake with buttercream. You can follow exactly the same method for ganache. You just need less time for ganache to set in the fridge unlike buttercream.
Hope you find this tutorial helpful

I wish I'd learned this 30 years ago! It would have saved me a lot of frustration.🎂😵
Best tutoring i v ever watched
I've watched a ton of videos on cake decoration and none was as informative as this. Awesome!
❤️🙏
Hi, which buttercream did you use for this technique?
Thank you so much....you are very patient and it's easy to follow.
This. Is. Everything. Thank you so much! I made a cake for the first time and everyone and myself were so impressed how smooth and sharp the frosting was!
The honest feedback really makes me happy 😃
Thank you so much for sharing it with us x
شكرا على الطريقة
The cake is GORGEOUS. also, your voice is extremely soothing.
Aw thank you 😍
Scraping looks like magic
Great tutorial. I"'ve been making cakes for years but your method is so much easier, quicker and so much more foolproof. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you for sharing.
Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback. I really appreciate it x
Thank you. I'm icing wedding cake and this video was very helpful.
Thank you for such a thorough tutorial. I would like to suggest something for you. They're called cake strips. They will help your cakes to be flat across the top so you don't have to cut the dome off and then have to deal with crumbs. Just soak them in water, squeeze them out and put them around your cake pan before baking.
I have PME baking strips but as I bake at low temperatures my cakes mostly come out almost flat I don’t get many off cuts. 😊
Thank you

My son, who just walked in while this was paused, said, "that's really pink fondant!" He could hardly believe it when I told him it was buttercream frosting!
Thank you very much dear for this excellent tutorial, I'm already in love with your caking prowess.
Please I want to do this as a means of income, may I request that you list all the cake ingredients/ condiments and equipment for baking cake.
Thank you very much dear.

Cake decorating is so theraputic for me. I could watch this video all day!
literally same!
Thank you so much for briefing so nicely
Wow, I’ve been making cakes for a while now and have always struggled with this. This method seem so useful, will definitely give it a try next time. Thank
you so much
Wow thank you so much, I think I will be able to do this.
Thanks so much. I would go over so many times trying to make it smooth and level. This is an eye opener
Thank you for your idea... It saves me... God Blessed you
That was very informative. I usually struggle trying to creat a sharp and level cake
Thax I really been impressed with the new idea for the smoothness 🎉🎉
Wonderful tutorial!!! I know there are acrylic disks that can be used to get sharp edges, but I am amazed at how you do it with a simple white cake board piece. You are truly good at what you do.
Judy Fleming thank you so much for the positive feedback. I know about the acrylic disc they are expensive aren’t they? Plus when you have to do same size cake cake in multiple quantity you need more than one set. I am absolutely against paying extra £s when I know the result can be achieved in cheaper ways ☺️and you know how addictive this cake making is lol my kitchen is short of space.

I love this method... Please how do I get the cake not to sweat after decorating it?
I love watching you i learned a lot about putting icing on a cake and I love ❤️ cake decorating i also want you to know that I can’t stand watching people who talk about their friends and family who wants to hear them talking i love ❤️ Ioved love the way you started talking about the cake 🎂 and nothing else
Thank you so much 😊 bless you
Thank you SO MUCH for this video!!! I love how you did everything in real time!
Wow that's beautiful work and tips. Thank you so much.
I feel like you can teach me anything lol great job and your voice is so warming! Thanks for teaching me ❤️
Thank you ....I love this technique I will definitely try this
OMG AWESOME!!!!!!! Your aura is so relatable and calming. Please keep making tutorials!!!! 😄❤️
I love this technique!! I’m start doing it. Thank you ! 🙏
I would suggest putting a non-skid mat down on the turntable to keep the cake board from sliding around while working on it.
I had this same issue. The cake card held the cake but the card kept moving around on the turn table😞
I have used double side tape
I have seen many of them (other cake decorators & cooks) use the bumpy sort of liner for shelves, bins, and drawers, that is like a fat mesh. They cut a square of it that sits under their cake board, and it stops the sliding issue better than tape of any kind. Plus, just wash it and reuse it tons of times, so a little 10 ft²/.9m² roll of it could last most people quite awhile!
Best video ever. I am sharing this with ever baker I know. Fabulous!
Sharing is caring. 😍
Thank you
I want to start selling cakes and this tutorial is amazing!!

What an excellent method!!! I've been baking and decorating cakes for 50 years and this is THE BEST frosting tip ever!!
I love this comment!!! I know it's old but still, it's so sweet to see experts using tips and tricks from others and acknowledge that. Some people are too proud! It's such a shame because theyre missing out! Learning new things doesn't mean you aren't great at what you do! It goes to show that no matter how great you are there is always room to grow 💗
Very detailed tutorial. Thank you
Thank you! As a home baker (and Mommy of 3) with a growing customer base, I have been struggling to achieve shard edges. Thank you! Best tutorial I've seen!
Please give me some advice how to start at home baking business? I started but only selling 5 a month for now from friends. Anything would help? Thank you!
I am definitely trying this method! Thankyou!
That cake is so satisfying to look at. Hopefully my cake will come out as pristine as yours. First attempt not using your method was a failure. Hopping to gain success this time
I see so many decorators put their crumb-coat cakes in the refrigerator. I was instructed to put in in the freezer - just 10-15 minutes does the trick without drying out the cake (as the moisture in the cake quick-freezes in the freezer and then "re-moisturizes" during thawing. It really works well!
I don’t prefer putting the cake in the freezer. Because as soon as you will bring it out of the freezer it will start sweating really badly. The sudden extreme temperature change messes up so many things. Hence I don’t freeze, I refrigerate.
Hope this helps
@@Scrumptiouscakesbyfairy hmmm . I hadn’t thought of that. I haven’t had a sweating problem, but I wonder if that’s a factor of local climate conditions?
Yes absolutely. It does depend on the local climate
This was GENIUS! Thank you so much! I can’t wait to decorate my next cake now

me too. This looks amazing
Thank you! Great explanation!
Thank you for sharing. You're very talented. Beautiful...
Brilliant! Giving this a try with my next cake!
If you used cake pan strips, you wouldn't have to shave off the top of each layer to be flat. Also, piping the icing, using a large tip, in a spiral between layers and on top greatly decreases the chance that crumbs get into you icing while spreading.
Amelia Reagan Wright your right! I love cake pan strips. I made my own.
